  • A pity for who? Certainly not me! Being a musician, I guess I set the bar high & don't have much time for those who could not carry a tune in a bucket.

A previour commentator talked of 'perfect imperfection' what arrant rubbish. If they had commented on louche, dilettante posturing I would have enthusiastically agreed. Bryan has certainly 'perfected' that.

  • A very very pedestrian version. I have never regarded Bryan Ferry as a singer & this hasn't changed my mind one iota. Out of tune warbling really doesn't do it for me I'm afraid.

  • @rickenbugger That's a pity :)

  • everything is just fine but what is this shaking the head when singing :)

  • If you want to think romance and seduction....two names only....Barry White and Bryan Ferry.

Barry gives us passion and sweet seduction......Bryan gives us romance, unchained, unbridled and unafraid to be coupled with passion. Which is better? Only you can decide if such a distinction even needs to exist.

  • What I so love is the perfect imperfection in his voice, only Brian can do this.

His voice is sexy, touching and beautiful.

  • Nice :)

    abeldanger(dot)net

  • next to joan osborne, this is the best cover ever of this song !

  • @rainbowjellys There's no doubt who feels a twat now! Hahahahaha! You tell him!

  • GARTH BROOK THE BEST !!!!!

  • I think this is a wonderful song n how he talked and sung it was very brilliant I think it's not about how u sing it ,it's about how much u feel the words

  • Excellent interpretation.......

  • Dylan can't sing - fortunately Ferry can help him, so that hes beautiful songs are worth listening to. What an interpreter !!!

  • @Gnaslguff Bob Dylan cant sing? Really? Shows how much Bob Dylan you've really listened to.

  • love it!

  • Swoooooooooooooooooooooooonnn!!!!! Brilliant interpretation. Love the synths. Mmmmmmmmmmmm!

  • ...id like him 2 try n sing "someone like you" adel. i think hed do a great cover

  • I saw Roxy in Glasgow twice in the 70's- -they were great, but Brian's voice is a bit weak and strained in this.

  • Awesome.

  • Timeless, understated elegance. Bryan holding you close and whispering gently in your ear.

  • Brian Ferry is one of my favorite singers, and his former band Roxy Music was one band who opened my eyes to the fact that there is more to what people in the U.S. put in Billboard's top 40, true music that is accessible

  • I love this guy so much

  • Way better version then Kelly and Adele

  • always was and will be an amazing artist! have most roxie music and bryan's cds.

  • My iphones acting wierd this shytt isnt wat i clicked and this videooo is GAY!!!!

  • Great singer

  • This one for Kerry.

  • This gent has an amazing voice.

  • With NO ANY COMMENT, just G R E A T !!! Thank you Brian <3

  • Going to see Bryan Ferry in december with my mum and I absolutely can't wait. Being born decades after the prime, I'm honoured to have a chance to see one of my idols without it being a tribute group. This sort of music helps me ignore the music that's being produced today that I'm expected to be interested in. Bryan Ferry is just amazing.

  • demasiado sentimiento... gracias Bryan.

  • 44 people are retarded!

  • The hugely popular album Avalon (1982) with the single "More Than This, closes their illustrious career.

It is then that Bryan Ferry decided to go solo.

  • hey i've uploaded a video of myself performing this song, please watch it and let me know what you think :)

  • should have let this go ur far above it

  • whos the twat

  • This man is truly a legend. Gotta love him. Any doubters should actually see how many people he influenced.

  • 44 Justin Bieber fans watched this song!

  • @pretender2u

    So

  • were going to see bryan at the castle saturday on the eplanade edinburgh looking forward to it never seen him

  • I love this song. Bob Dylan is one of the best songwriters ever and Roxy Music's "Avalon" is one of the best albums ever. Let's hear it for the "old twats". They make great music.

  • Is he singing to 5 people?

  • I fancied Bryan Ferry (a real man) when I was 14, lucky for me for growing up in the decades before the general population started languishing in the crap that is our popular culture. Justin Bieber my arse! I am dumber for knowing the names of the idiots these days who are masquerading as singers!

  • I LOVE THIS MAN>>>>

  • try AL BOWLLY songs mr Ferry

  • 347 didn't feel the love.

  • Elkie Brooks does a version of this on her 2010 ,c.d." Powerless" Her version for me is the best version.

  • Adele's cover is my favorite... But that's a good one. lots of emotions (:

  • @Julaytrindade It takes lots of skills to cover this gem badly, apparently... Kudos for Joel, Ferry, Diamond, Adele... and of course Dylan!

  • Listen, we all know what is what. In our hearts we know he speaks to them. Beautiful.

  • nothing as ronan parke's performance...

  • Brian.... best there is! Have listened to the other amateurs singing this melody but only Brian makes me feel his love <3

  • pff , this is so beautifull.

  • I have the greatest of respect for all music lovers. However if you do not know how wonderful Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry are then you are missing a trick. Sheer unadulterated class. Sublime. Listen to the music before you close your ears.

  • totally souless and passionless, roxy made a couple of decent songs but thats it.....absolutely appauling....its an affront to music, Bryan, you had your time, go away and stop trying to milk your fans

  • Fuck u for saying fuck Adele the fuck that was ignorant of u to say u should have been taught better smh

  • You have to admit, this was kind of a bastardization of this song...

  • this song reminds me of the sweetest woman in my life...my candy...i love her so much

  • Superbe reprise de Bob Dylan... et la voix de Ferry... un enchantement.

Même si je ne crois toujours pas en lui, que le grand manitou là-haut te protège Bryan.

En te souhaitant le meilleur Avenir à venir... à toi et à mon super(be) Bazolu Ronron de frère,

    qui de là-haut t'entend. (Igor/Pascal/André : 18/02/1961 * 14/05/2011)

  • Fuck Adele, this is a different class.

  • The great Bryan Ferry....countless nights of seduction to these sounds, somewhere between cool, heartbreaking and of course, pure excitement

  • I've loved Bryan's voice for over thirty years, this is pure class and makes my spine tingle!

    A true gentleman. xx

  • Can someone please send me the Dylan's version link?

    I couldn't find it...

  • @krt6tube lots of dylans songs are gone off YouTube.. something with rights .. a shame ...

  • BF remains one of the most sensitive singers ever...

  • the 'old twat' is my cousin actually. hes a brilliant singer

  • @rainbowjellys Really?? wow! (if so). He's more than a brilliant singer... one of the greatest musicians/songwriters, in a class of his own! His music has really touched my life... it's so wonderful. How nice, you must be proud :-). Best wishes...

  • he needs to fill the gap in the uk hngry for music world ..go man..do it...we need music to live..and we need it now more than ..chicken pieces

  • @rainbowjellys Oh yeah, and your dad was looking after pit ponies too no doubt. He certainly is a great singer though and covers Dylan better than anyone else on the planet. However, rather a vain and vacuous individual with really horrible offspring - (your second cousins).

  • Wonderful !

  • everybody just be quite and listen to perffection

  • appreciation of music really comes with age and experience ... the young bryan ferrys and rod stewarts etc have all diversified in there older age and bring an experienced voice and ear to songs that in their younger days they wouldn't have looked at twice. My era was the 80's (looking back , most of it was rubbish ) but at the time it was spectacularly good ... don't rubbish the singer songwriters whose foresight has given todays generation the vehicle to take music forward .. :)

  • I think what george galloway is right, boycott this boor

  • Bryan Ferry turns out to sing for Berlusconi's bigots racists & proto-Fascists. Boycott this boor!

  • And is such a beauty, this song. So many way`s to interprete this song.

  • Prefer this to Dylan's version, which was good but not as smooth or sweet as this one.

  • I will be very glad if you check my cover of this great song

  • This is PURE QUALITY! Makes me cry

  • I love this version and the quiet, emotional simplicity Ferry creates. If only this cover was as popularised as Adele (although that version is, again, brilliant). Felt compelled to represent the younger generation (being a teenager) who appreciate both the classics and contempory. Nothing wrong with some Ferry, Van Morrison, Rod Stewart, Sade jumbled up with Tinie Tempah, Katy Perry and Friendy Fires!

  • My favourite recording of this song......a million miles away from Dylan,s original, this is a very carefully crafted studio sound full of richness and texture and It's nice to hear Manzanera's influence coming through on guitar.

  • @bensimps123 This 'old twat' is responsible for some of the greatest popular music of all time. You obviously don't know your musical history. Btw, music is not just for young people. Imagine that?! If you are capable of seeing beyond your self-contained bubble and really imagining that is. Much of the greatest music is by older artists. Many younger people don't appreciate it because they haven't lived enough yet, to be able to understand. The intelligent ones will understand, eventually

  • @bensimps123 : Go listen to your bieber and leave the real music to artists that know what "feelings" are.

  • @Evangelander this is real music? is it FUCK ! i listen to PROPER music by PROPER bands and artists like The Who and Queen ,Morrissey ,pink floyd ,..etc not this rubbish

  • @bensimps123 Your very statements show how blinkered you are and how little you understand music, or that taste is largely subjective. 'Proper music', 'proper bands', 'shit', 'rubbish', 'old twat'. It would be much easier if you just said 'music that I like' and 'music that I don't like'. There is no absolutism in music, or we would all like everything ever created.

  • @Codex7777 I saw Roxy in 73 at the Rainbow on the Street Life Tour. I guess that makes me an old twat.

  • @Codex7777 i DONT listen to modern music u prick , i listen to proper bands - The Who , Queen , pink floyd , morrissey ...people who can write proper music and play an instrument not this fucking prick ,he should of fucked off in the 0s with his shit music

  • @Codex7777 amen, i agree 1000%. it's about time someone said that. i love your last line especially, so true--INTELLIGENT ONES WILL UNDERSTAND....indeed....in fact, bryan ferry was so sexy, i had a huge crush on him in the 80s when i was in college. i am 41 now and i have more passion, joy and musical appreciation and knowledge now than i ever did at 19....you are right, it's musical history,,,sadly many 20-something twats don't have a work ethic or a sense of the world beyond rihanna.

  • @Codex7777 u just basically said that all young people are dumb that is so rude and btw not all young people hate this song geez !!!! it is like ageism

  • @sickcath93 That's not what I said at all but feel free to put words into my mouth, if it makes you feel happy. Note, I said 'many young people' & I didn't call this subgroup 'dumb'. I merely stated that some music requires some living, in order to be fully appreciated. My last sentence refers specifically to intelligent young people. It's merely a case of you failing to comprehend my meaning and jumping to unwarranted conclusions. Like it, or not, some things do come with age...

  • @Codex7777 agree 100% - didnt read the original 'old twat' comment but then again, if I did, it sounds like I would end up wishing I could have those 5 seconds of my time back again. Only sections of the ADD youth of today are incapable of appreciating the sheer class of someone like Bryan Ferry. There might be no absolutes in judging music, but I'd rather poke needles in my eyes than allow my ears to bleed endlessly from listening to the likes of lady gaga & Justin Bieber

  • @Codex7777 Totally agree with you. Bryan is one of my favourite musicians and his work over the years, both solo and with Roxy music, is very special to me. He's so talented and has had a great influence on pop/rock music. That guy made a stupid comment. I'm young too though... some of us appreciate good music :). All the best, Sarah

  • @fez287 don't worry about your youth, mate: it will be gone in a bit and you'll become one of us "old twats"... and that's only if you're lucky!! (you know the alternative...)

  • @Codex7777 u dont kno wot ur fukkin sayin m8 brain ferry is rubbihs

  • @Codex7777 It would be lovely if you didn't dismiss all young people as having no taste for older music. My Bryan Ferry CD has been one of my favourites since I was tiny (ie, my dad gave it to me because I listened to it more than he did).

  • @bookworm266 It would be even lovlier if you actually noted what I had written, rather than just reacting. Please note that I said "many" young people. Nor did I "dismiss all young people as having no taste for older music". If you are going to take umbrage it helps if you have a leg to stand on, rather than putting words into my mouth that I didn't say and attacking them instead of what I actually said. ;)

  • watch this awesome cover please :) /watch?v=KoyNF5Plf64

  • I have a crush on that guitar player! Wow!

  • I love you bryan! Im sure I heard on the radio you weren't well. Get well soon. You are wonderful xxx

  • i've always loved this man......

  • I think Adele sings this song the best, but this Bryan Ferry version is, to me, the best interpretation of the song - from the heart, makes me cry every time

  • i prefer adele

  • @icedood3000 fucj hear she aint got a fucking clue who org wrote this song ....

  • 30 people got it wrong. Ahhh but the world is not poifect!

  • Bryan you are just amazing.I love this song it gives me goose bumps.

  • I heard this on the radio today while I was driving & I cried the whole time. Such a beautiful song & I never knew Bryan Ferry (one of my favorites & still gorgeous) sang this. Now I realize it was definitely him. Such a beautiful song. I love Joan Osborne's version too.

  • Nice comments.Beautiful song.

  • Check out DAVE LENNARD the best of undiscovered British talent!!

  • Happy birthday Tokneneng...

  • Bryan's secret and the reason why he is so successful at what he does is that he gets inside the songs he sings and makes them his own..you can see when he sings he's going into the zone and they sung with such heartfelt emotion and plenty of expression, sometimes he shakes as he is singing if you look closely. He always gives it his all and is a true artist which is a rare thing in the music scene today.

  • Beautiful song, he looks like he's feeling every word. I wonder who this song is about?

  • Bryan is the master interpreter of mournful songs and this is as good as it gets

  • That guy is pure class ... what I wouldn't give to marry him ... *sighs*

  • Adele's version is mutch better, he almost whisper it....

  • @TFMusicful wash your mouth out you loser

  • I've never been a big fan of Bryan Ferry, but credit where credit is due, that is a bloody stonking cover. He really feels this song and that comes across in abundance. Superb

  • @stookiebhoy one of the best appraisals on the tube.

  • lovely , still love him today snogged him once at a party in the 70s very nice and what a lovely man he is . ah to be back in those days :)

  • What a load of tripe you guys have never see him in the old days with ROXY

  • Brilliant Dylan Song.

Rebecca Ferguson (X Factor) did a fantastic version last saturday.

  • This deserves something beautifuland original to be said. All I can think of is WOW!

  • Beautiful song, beautifully sung, heartbreaking.

  • BLOODY HELL I THINK THIS OLD GOAT IS THE TRUE MASTER DID HE DO THIS ARANGEMENT FIRST CAUSE DYLAN WOULD NOT ITS EXACTLY SAME AS ADELE ,S WHICH I PREFER BUT THIS IS GREAT TOO.

  • It is on CD; it's on 'Dylanesque' his brilliant last album, a collection of his versions of Bob Dylan songs.

I have to say, for my money, nobody does Dylan as well as Ferry does..

  • freaking brilliant! why is this not on cd? or even a 'b' side?

  • I can listen to Brian Ferry sing anything. I loved Roxy Music's style and development.

Yes, he's 65 year old now. Top shelf entertainment.

  • Love this man. Amazing, enduring talent. He must be well into his sixties, yet he looks fabulous and sounds fabulous. Best rendition of this song I've ever heard. Bravo!

  • just soooooo beautiful

  • Love this version and love Bryan Ferry & Roxy Music he has such an individual style of singing and I just love his voice and what a performer - classy and stylish!

  • Beautiful...Bryan Ferry sings this with such feeling. I could leave it on replay all day:)

  • @SuperWhitehorses .....I do, and all night to.

  • 65 lat i wciaz rewelacja...

  • Like my favourite Artist Marc Bolan, Ferry was (and is) a massive Dylan fan, Dylan is top of the tree when it comes to song writing, but Ferry has a beautiful voice that make all his Albums along with all the Roxy Music Albums Must have purchases if you love Good Music - Bryan isn't happy unless the whole sound surrounding him isn't perfect too and this was true of his "solo" work as much as it was true when he fronted Roxy M.

  • I got into Roxy Music through Bryan's first lp because of the covers he chose. I was put off by glam so Roxy looked a little suspect. However, his Dylan lp was a mistake. Uninspired covers and rather predictable Dylan choices. He does better with girl group stuff and things from that era.

  • I'm in love, and I gone show her may real heart! Thank's gentleman Mr: Bryan Ferry.

  • "There's nothing that I wouldn't do".... well that must be what it's all about... when it comes to Love.... *soft smile*.....

  • What an absolutely beautiful song .... a great rendition.

  • Polterggiest: you're full of turd cakes and you know it.

  • We share the same BIRTHDAY, SEPTEMBER 26. He IS my ULTIMATE Love Drug-In My Dreams

  • As much as I love and adore Bryan Ferry, almost anytime someone covers a Dylan tune, it falls a little short from grace, in my estimation, accept for a few exceptions such as Hendrix's "'All Along The Watchtower", for instance. Anything Ferry does is super elegant and sheik! Bravo! EVERYONE SHOULD LISTEN TO ROXY MUSIC!!!

  • I just rebooted my laptop this morning and this was on when I went to bed last night and it just automatically replayed as it booted up--nice way to start the morning. Love Bryan!!

  • I love this song, the text and the singer Bryan ferry..its a song in my heart

  • So beautiful song.

  • This one always makes me cry. Beautifully sung. Does anyone know - are those his 2 sons playing guitar?

  • Weeping....

  • @alwaystigerlily right there with you

  • niwreyenrac - nice written! And in my mind - you are absolutely right!

  • @spaceship789 @spaceship789 Ahh I see...

Thanks for the explanation... It makes it understandable, to me now, why he is much loved.

  • "Make You Feel My Love" When the rain is blowin' in your face And the whole world is on your case I could offer you a warm embrace To make you feel my love. When the evening shadows and the stars appear And there is no one there to dry your tears I could hold you for a million years To make you feel my love. I know you haven't made your mind up yet But I would never do you wrong I've known it from the moment that we met No doubt in my mind where you belong.
  • Artist magnifies and with an odd talent, has to always be reverenced

  • beautiful x

  • Awesome

  • Can someone explain to me is so great about this singers rendition of songs and vocal tallent? I am missing something here and would like to have the ear to give this a 5 star rating as well... I just am not feeling it

  • because it sounds heartfelt. It sounds like he means it. You can feel the emotion in his voice.

  • @wakawaka1976 you either feel it or you don't. You don't and there's nothing wrong with that. nobody can teach you how to "feel" anything. I am sure you love stuff that others don't get or feel.

  • Bryan, o Bryan, you are my love. We grow old, we grow old, together. Listen to you most every day, you go with me in the car, you soothe my soul. Thanks for the clip thecatkeaton!

  • very well phrased "niwreyenrac" : could do it better. Many thanks.
