It is very loosely based on fact...there was another 2 thousand greeks, possibly more. Though they were very corageous, as they were still outnumbered by ALOT. Briliant strategy, really. I know all about that stuff.

The Persian Empire spread into Africa. These darker Persians were from the Nile Region. Of course, they may not have been as dark as a few of the actors in the movie.
