A nice refutation to the silly canard that Welles "never did anything after 'Citizen Kane'". His later films, the ones he directed, were not commercial successes -- of course not: for Welles' camera was not an eye in a bucket of popcorn... but in the head of a poet.
@AGAFilms89 - I like The Trial. It has some of the most visually stunning moments in cinema. I love the close-up introducing Welles's character, rising from bed with steam pouring from his face! Welles claimed he improvised the visual design for the film when money for sets fell through and they instead shot in the abandoned Gare d'Orsay train station in Paris. When asked about the film years later, he said he had made so few, they were like his children; he couldn't speak ill of any of them.
