Hey i have an 84 Celica im just getting into cars im 15 and i want to get my all jacked b4 my junior year (im in 10th now) can you tell me what you did to your celica? please! thank you :D
sweet man, I want your fenders sooooo bad, its hard to find GT fenders around where I live, I hate my stock fender flares, I'll be doing a 1uzfe swap in my 85 coupe somewhere down the road after I finish building my corolla, very cool build though man, I love coupes
I just love your celica I have one of my own an 83 celic with 2JZ the only problem I have is the rear diff need to be change. can you help me this is my e-mail
You need some mechanic friends. No matter how well you search, nothing teaches you what to do better than someone right there beside you who knows what they're talking about.
sure if u dont mine the engine and transmission sticking out from ur fenders...no man it wont fit...ur engine sits sideways where a supra engine goes long ways..not possible..well...its possible but not recommended..
Actually i just seen a vid of a newer celica with a 2jz and it ran a 8.25 with nothing sticking out of nowhere the inline 4 is longer in lenght then the 2jz is in width.
get the engine and the tranny 1st. Choose a good workshop which can provid u with the type of labour needed. Get a rear 84 Supra subframe with the diff and axles. A high flow fuel pump and it will remain the matter of fabricating the engine and tranny mounts. A front mount intercooler is also needed.
If you will run a manual tranny, it will give you a variety of stand-alone ECUs to fit the wiring to. I used the stock 2JZGTE ECU+wiring along with SAFC II to control the air/fuel.
hey man this is a nice and fast car damn!!! i have a 85 celica too and i want to do that please can you help me to doit give me some information can you?? what did you use and where did you get it from pleasee!!! thanks
In Puerto Rico theres is a Street Legal 71' Celica running 8 seconds on the 1/4 mile , with a 2jz engine. STREET LEGAL!! Puerto Rico home of the fastest imports in the world.
Thanks guys, acctually i dont have a work log. I fabricated engine mounts for it along with tranny mount. And the last couple of runs where 10.7@216km/hr after changing the rear ratio ;)
Why did you decide to put a 2jz engine into an old celica? Not that its a bad decision, i mean the time on that quarter mile run says enough, im just curious :P

Toysport is even selling their fully decked out 2JZ Celica for $12K. I believe it runs 10's
TrueStreets 2 years ago
You'd have to do some kind of setup like the GT-R has with another drive shaft and diff running up front, it would be a horrible setup on this car.

oldscool with new tecnology i like that

I wonder how many horsepower that celica has.

Yes, but the engine bay isn't long enough (front to back) to use the 2jz. It must have been cut and welded to hell and back.
Silentxf0b 3 years ago
But its wellworth it if it's built off of shop money.

Sweet, but I feel real bad for that poor old MKII Supra getting creamed by a lowly normal Celica. Any idea what he was running? Maybe a 7M-GTE.
