  • The plague was not a commodity.

press ctrl+f and type 0. LOLOLOLO

  • First off, I believe in God. I was RAISED that way, and I love god. And Jesus, it's what I believe in. But you don't see me coming to insult what you believe in do I? So what if I believe in God? I respect everyone, even Jews. People are people, and if you don't like certain ones, you're going to have a miserable life.

  • When was India ruled by the mongols??? Indians defeated the mongols several times before they sacked Delhi... the end of Delhi sultanate.. history channel??? should do more research before you discredit the people who gave up their lives... another common misconception Arabic numerals??? it came from india but you giving credit to arabs for stealing it...

  • I want 2 see a rain of frogs !! LOL

  • Oh, I'm so glad this is here... I skipped the bio lecture where we watched this, and it's on the final... :)

  • So the Mongolians had a hand in the outbreak in Europe? The Europeans should have built bigger City walls. (South Park reference)

  • priests who were corrupt, say it out loud instead of cowering in fear of the church today, which is almost as corrupt

  • Why do all the plagues come from Asia?

  • @TheLizzifer It's basically because of their love for raw and exotic animal meat (ideal for animal-to-human transfer of new bacterial/virus strands) and their cramped living conditions (ideal for human-to-human transfer). China and West Africa are the two main sources of new diseases precisely because of their frequent contact with (and digestion of) raw meat from undomesticated animals, which are full of microorganisms to which the human body is not accustomed to.

  • And so we meet again 240p...

  • Let me find out this is where they came up with the movie Contagion . . .

  • URGHHHHH! DAMN ASIA GIVING US THE PLAGUE!

  • UNIBROW!!

  • lmao when he said 'he is a JOO' i was like oh snap here it comes...

  • r8wing, yeah, but not in coherent order....cuz its kinda extremely boring and I couldnt help laughing.

The Bible CONTRADICTS itself if you read it in sober state, ok? Read the Old Testament, it clearly explains how you should punish slaves, be a good racist, how to order your wife better. Man, I guess you see only what you want to see. Same the New Testament..brainwash about goodness and peace, though there is no. I'm off.

  • Hm...WHERE WAS GOD when half of Britain died the most cruel death? I can only LOOOOLL at these fools. (though I dont actually even smile, cuz its terrible) Medicine was sent us by devil to decieve us, so lets pray for the dying ones! WHOO-HOO (though religious people keep not listening to this, sure they know better....)

  • @SchadenfreundeParody

According to medieval conceptions the plague was a punishment from God for the wickedness of men. Back then it was the most plausible explanation, but on the long run the Black Death proved to be actually a rather beneficial event. Without the Black Death Europe would likely have got stuck in the Dark Ages forever, and the rest of the world with it.

  • @r8wing Cool, a sacrifice, I suppose Second World War was also beneficial...and Vietnam...

I'm not saying that I disagree...but if I was there I would probably shit bricks cuz that was terrible for sure. Anyway, they frantically believed in God...and he killed them...cruelly. By the way it contradicts >>>>Bible<<<<, ok?

  • @SchadenfreundeParody

It doesn't contradict the Bible at all, for the Bible foretells such times of extreme hardship. Remember the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse? Ever read the Book of Revelation?

  • back here everyone is a sucker - they all believed in god

  • wait.. religion and power corrupts?... Nooooooo, that cant be!.. sigh.. if only it could surprise me.. The essence of religion in general is long forgotten.. personally I don't know if there is a god or whatever, I don't really care either way.. but he'll surely be nothing like the bible or koran or whatever tells you.. or atleast.. I hope he isnt..

I wouldnt want to follow a god that can leave his creation, or make it suffer as much.. I cant see how anyone could..

  • The plague in Mongolia began in 1331 not 1347. By 1347 the plague was already in Europe.

  • @djAmericantoast178 you have to remember that they truly had NO conception during this period of how disease spread. About things like antibodies or contagions or virulence. Imagine an entire hemisphere of people who basically think like that kissesxxx guy. This isn't to say we hadn't gotten there yet. We had disease management figured out long before this. But the dark ages were literally a step backward in many areas of art and science including medicine.

  • *They should have Tortured! & Then Burned! All of the Evil! Hypocrite! Muslim/Catholic Religious Priests/Popes! & Fake Doctors! At the Stake! & I don't feel sorry for the DumbAss Pussy Jews either! Until they got a country(Israel) given to them, By the United States! The Jews Never Defended Themselves or Fought back, They would just go to Slaughter like Stupid! Sheep! & Cattle! Watch the W.W.2 Nazi films on how Dumb/Stupid the Jews were! The American Citizens are headed down the same road!

  • @kisssexxx your profile puts your age at 44... but that can't possibly be right.

  • @kisssexxx perhaps it's because i come from educated and dignified stock, i can't understand how a 44 year old can be so.. no offense, fucking stupid. I love the internet as i get to meet real life white trash. How cool.

  • @groovylocks Love how you say you're educated, amongst all the spelling mistakes! Hahaha, still a funny comment though.

  • @Katw76 I don't see any spelling mistakes.

  • @Undertaker3879 OK, grammatical mistakes then, "i" should be "I".

  • @kisssexxx Your ignorance shows. By calling for the "burning of the stake" for everyone you don't like, that is the same mind set that the Spanish Inquisition had. Israel was handed over by Britain because Britain controlled Palestine at that time.

It is true many Jews fought back during the holocaust, historically incompetent jackass.

  • @kisssexxx wow , you dont read anything tru maybe just watch stupid shows . . The jews / Hebrew poeple fought off the egyptions , the assyrian empires , persians and turks and romans for nearly 1000-1500 years so they dont fight back?? Hmmm Based on what just the Hitler shit?

  • Back then it was religious practice to wash themselves twice a day. That is how they survived the plague.

  • hmmm...so The Canterbury Tales is true

  • I wonder what was going on across the ocean in places not known to Europe yet during the Black Plague.

  • @wingsofhope2 north america was likely doing fine. But don't forget, the plague wasn't just a problem in europe. It came from asia. So a lot of asia was suffering the same fate as europe.

I'm not sure how africa was doing during this period.. There was certainly trade between plague-infested areas and various parts of africa. It's unfortunate that much of african history is sort of vague.

  • @groovylocks yes that is unfortunate but american history from the 10th century to the very late 15th century is even more vague, and pre-Norse america is completely unknown

  • @groovylocks

For a disease to spread large human concentrations are necessary, like the European urban centers. In Africa large cities were sparse, and Sahara acted as an effective barrier against the outbreak. I suppose the plague has spread in the Arab region of North Africa too, but no further. Arab medical science was more advanced than the European one at the time, at least they understood the importance of hygiene. Muslim food taboos could have also helped.

  • The comments are all very debate-ish and Religous WOW :D

  • @clitasaurus1

Thats intresting, it would explain allot.

  • @clitasaurus1

    Hmm...

Thats a really intresting theory, but it makes allot of sense. Good observation.

I'm a Christian myself but I have never understood the stigma towards Judaism. I think it comes from the idea that the Jews crucified Jesus, it chills me when I read Luke 23:28.

Jesus saw the discrimination of the Jews coming and its happening to this day. =(

  • I'm sorry, no offence to Muslims or Judism. I never want to die (a martyr) defending my religion. Its not worth it.

  • Search for "Morality Without God" here on youtube. User TheThinkingAtheist. All that were done by Jews. So yes they are also quilty of murdering people just like te Christians and Muslims. The Abrahamic religions will always murder people in the name of God. They did it yesterday, they do it today and they will do it in the future.

  • My best friend is Jewish, he is the nicest guy I've ever met :)

  • I am Jewish, if someone gave me a penny for every conspiracy theory blamed on the Jews, well I would be rich. Anyone who believes in these conspiracy theory's is as intelligent and a dead chicken.

Brilliant documentary, oh how I love medieval history.

  • why all weird shit has to come from china?

  • @Anusdhka I´m asking the same q.

  • 3:59 that guy look like he is slowing smiling o.0

  • because of this plague

in the 1665 outbreak the survivors from this plague passed a mutation called delta-32

which keeps them from gettign plague and HIV AIDS

    and other chronic disease

  • dear god its obvious that almost everyone watching this is studying the plague chapter in their 8th grade history class judging by some of the comments below. that or a few brains never developed

  • I thought it came from China by infected rats.

  • It is Genova in Italy not in Switcherland

  • History repeating it's self, as Europe moved towards the East, as they are today. China, and the Middle East. Be warned people, and if the Jews have anything to do with it be WARNED.

  • haha mongols never had any villages only clans and tribes they should research a bit more before they make non-asian people act as mongols

  • @01misheel

You mean be racist like you?

  • @moonphoenix1 actually i am a mongolian and mongolians never settled down in one place for long they are nomadic people

  • @01misheel they would have controlled cities too m8

  • hope that the plague will not return peh peh peh touchwood

  • Man the Jews never got it easy...

    I don't get racism.

  • @H0tkebab Yeah... Then, you could blame it on the nazis. Now you can blame it on the New World Order trend.

  • @H0tkebab Thats because Jews are sneaky back stabbing people. they always been always will be.

  • @911wasdonebyjews you troll! go die in a holocaust

  • @911wasdonebyjews

if only someone would stab you in the back.

speed up the process and hang yourself, save yourself a miniscule amount of dignity. although I doubt your street hooker mother bore you with any.

  • @911wasdonebyjews 9 11 wasent done by jews it was done by muslim

  • @H0tkebab Well the jews have killed kinda many people in the name of God so I would say they had it comming. They are still in modern times acting like violent dickheads.

  • @funnystarchild

And you think many of those that professed to be Christian were any different, espeically at the time of the plague? What about the Muslims today? I'll say now that it is the arrogant and the extreme that have the loudest voices. Judge a person by the way how they conduct their faith and their life, not by the race they descend from or the history their culture may bare.

  • @H0tkebab I wasnt talking about a race. I was talking abot jews. Its religious people just like christians and muslims. Im so tired that you get called an antisemetic or racist as soon as you complain about judaism. Why dont you get called a racist for complaining about christianity or islam? And religion and culture is bound together verry much. You cant really complain at a religion without insulting their culture in some way.

  • @funnystarchild

I thought you were referring to the Jewish race (some people do). My point is, we need to stop being like the morons in history by making the same mistakes as they did by condemning whole groups of people (whether it be race or religion) of being sole causes of diseases, disasters etc.

  • @funnystarchild Yeah those crazy Jews with their genocides, holocaust, suicide bombers, flying planes into buildings, the inquisition ,persecutions, crusades and mass beheadings really messes up society.

    /sarcasm off

You may want to read up on dna. There is actually a Jewish genotype

  • @goldensassenach You talk about modern times. Open The Bible. The old testament. Everytime you see an army enter a city and killing every woman, man and child in the name of God - they are Jews. Jews have played the part of ancient nazies. Trying to dominate the world with their bloodline. So yes. When Hitler started to kill the Jews you could argue that they had it comming. Cruel argument. But they did the same to others. Think about it....

  • @funnystarchild That was par for the course in the ancient world, my dear. The Hebrews were no worse than any of their neighbors.

  • @H0tkebab plz dont say that 2 haisty

  • @H0tkebab becuze no 1 did

  • @H0tkebab The Jewish king of Yemen, Dhū Nuwas attacked Christians, capturing them and burning their churches. He then moved against Najran, a Christian and Aksumite stronghold. After accepting the city's capitulation, he massacred those inhabitants who would not renounce Christianity. Dhū Nuwas then proceeded to write a letter to the Lakhmid king Mundhir of al-Ħīra and King Kavadh I of Persia, informing them of his deed and encouraging them to do likewise to the Christians under their dominion.

  • @H0tkebab

    Dude you are sooooooooooo right!

And what the heck?! Priests having sex with more than one girl?!!!

    GIMME A BREAK!

    Sheesh!

  • @H0tkebab Well a secluded people who refuse to integrate into the society around them will obviously be subject to suspicions from the native population. Many Jews back then would make Rabbi Ovadia Yosef seem like a tolerant man, no doubt.

  • 2serveand2protect:

The incubation period for Yersina Pestis ranges from 2 to 7 days. Without treatment to this most highly infectious disease most patients aboard ships would have died leaving the ships rudderless unable to reach its destination other than the depth of the ocean. Some epidemiologists theorized that the fast urbanization created massive garbage piles in the European city centers where rats population furished. Subsequent rat eradication programs caused fleas to infect humans.

  • @levine96629ify I'm interested in the argument and thanks for the response. I don't have time now to communicate, however. I'll respond You. later. Sorry.

  • Listen to 2:16-2:48. What that guy is describing is nothing more than biological warfare. How could it be though, you ask. Humans didnt have that technology back then? Exactly, humans didnt, but perhaps aliens did. There is a theory about ancient aliens that for some reason wanted to wipe out humanity. The people back then reported seeing aircraft in the sky that would emit a fog, and after it was emitted everybody would get sick. That sounds exactly like what that guy is describing.

  • @4:50 ,I'm curious as to what they mean by "The Islamic World " in 1347 They must mean "The What World " Now eradicated by an even greater parasite than the plague itself

At least it's history was commandeered to fit the new deception

  • The 14th century plague started in Europe and travelled east. This documentary claims the plague originated from the East is contrary to the teachings from an authorative microbiology book. See "Microbiology," Davis/Dulbecco/Eisen/Ginsberg/Wood, 2nd Edition, p802.

  • @levine96629ify In fact, as it concerns Europe, it started in the italian port of Genova and, as you're saying, travelled further north and eastwards. However it's origins were in the far east and to Genova itself it came upon merchant ships, that used to bring spices to European ports. By 1348 it had reached practically the whole of western Europe. In this documentary (as far, at least) they're not saying that it was carried by fleas and those may be carried by rats, of which any ship was full.

  • The whole thing sure as hell saved my @ss on studying for my finals...

  • priests have evolved now they don't sleep with women, they rape children.

  • @ERASER1091988 lol haha so true

  • @ERASER1091988 yup, they're like a plague, aren't they.

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @ERASER1091988 How many priests do you know who have raped children ?

  • it skips zzzz

  • Mongolian Empire is the strongest that time!

  • Would it make sense to make shows about the effects of the plague in Asia? I don't know, it depends on how the plague there impacted historic events and whether it would make an interesting story on its own merit. There is a lot of scholarship and data on the social and cultural effects of the plague in Europe as evidenced by this show. Does a similar amount of scholarship and data exist for the plague in Asia? If not, why not? Maybe in Asia there are more important historic events to focus on?

  • @unapologeticmind .,actually, during those time the mongolian khanate is at the height of power... and the bubonic plague did reach asia but i think it only manage to reach the middle east because the people in the subcontinent and far east doesn't have the record of the plague... come to think of it, the middle easterns do't have any record too..

  • @scorpioninpink Yes, they do. 1/3 of the population of China and 30% of the population of Persia all died of the plague. You just don't hear about it as much because of the Eurocentric bent of most history textbooks.

  • ...Now, there are Chinese and possibly other records on the effects of plague outside of Europe but Chinese in particular remember more the Mongol destructions and the ensuing famine which was a far more relevant and destructive event in their 14th century history...

  • "Even the Pope seems tainted."

    Big suprise there.

  • @DazzieMetallikat fuck you

  • @MrAk47nut there more in to boys now ..

  • Where does the plague first originate from? How do the Mongols play a key role in spreading the plague to Europe?

  • How come there are never graphic descriptions the plague in Asia or anywhere else in the east?

  • @Crablec10 ummm.. because history is white?

  • @Crablec10 Where exactly in Asia? Are you aware that Asia consists of many completely separate cultures? Europe was one church, one latin language, lots of intermarried royal families. This makes a coherent story, Europe was also worse affected than Asia. A 14th century famine killed far more Chinese than the plague did. The plague in Europe was *the* major event in Europe and also immediately precedes the Renaissance in Europe, left a lot of graphic imprint in art, literature, etc...

  • Fuckin' Mongols were sweet.

  • Regarding the Church, remember that the prelates were the closest things then to modern politicians...if you were born an intelligent but poor boy, the only way you could get power was by climbing the ranks of the Church, as all temporal power was in the hands of hereditary kings, nobles and knights. As trade and communications were restored following the end of the Dark Ages, so the direct power of the Papacy grew, to the anger of local rulers.

  • good day! i'm a doctor. did they say the plague came from the east? from asia, from the mongols? think! if no other has thought of this before, could it be a mutation from the east that the west has not encountered? think what happened to the americas centuries later. what is this plague, then? that's a question i leave you. what?

  • LOL the guy in 4:02 is smiling XD

  • Why does everything always start in china?

  • Corrupt priests during Medieval days... Not much has change has it?

  • @zombieiscool well, that is kind of true. but to be honest, the catholic church is responsible for it all.

  • damn people will argue about anything now its arguing over which bacteria is worse what is the world coming to lol

  • @Southernjuggalo63 a teenager who thinks he knows everything because his parents let him do what ever he wants 2, thinks he knows the answer 2 everything & he states the stupidiest possible thing on the planet, & then someone in thier 20s who acctually knows what thier tlking about tells this stupid teenage hes wrong & then other teenagers whose parents neglect them so they can go fuck each other, join in so they can get attention and before you know it, the world is thrown back in2 the dark age

  • @Socoolscienceshow lol i agree man good comparison best i ever heard lol

  • @Socoolscienceshow best answer i have seen so far man lol

  • 20 bucks says a new strain of Ebola will blow the Black Death out of the water.

  • @internetandy We've already had an Ebola outbreak in America. Fortunately, it was a strain that only affected monkeys. With the way stuff travels these days, a pandemic is inevitable. Hopefully we won't see one in our lifetime.

  • swine flu had the potential to be just as aggressive as the plauge except for the fact that man is now intelligent enough to understand exactly what and how to vaccinate and stop spread of pathogens that carry such aggressive genes

  • @missbeckylee1 man had the same intelligence back then, just didnt had the knowledge

  • no one's perfect, not even priests.

  • "all of civilisation will be wiped out by India, China and the Islamic world"...prophetic words indeed!

  • why are people always hatin on the jews! lol

  • cause they make us study about their stupid traditions which no one cares because they are dumb. there should be another hitler so they could all die in hell

  • 2:40 holy unibrow

  • This is exactly what we are learning in school. The Black Death derived from fleas which lived off the rats who rode along with the trade from Asia. The fleas attacked other humans and spread the disease. Very interesting.

  • of course! blame the Jews! (sarcastic voice) I fuckin' hate people who blame others for their religon or skin color. >:(

  • @Turok987 same here mate i totally agree they blame people who r different for things that they probably caused

  • @Ghostlych0b I actually think it's embarrassingly interesting!

  • @Ghostlych0b

    I agree wit ya!!!

  • @Ghostlych0b no

  • your jokin right

  • dude at 2:35 looks ugly no homo shit.

  • 2:35 that guy has a sexy monobrow

  • oh wow lol

  • Considered the Religious Authority or Political/Govt Authority?? So we are forced to bow down before the Ruling Class??

See how you screw yourself up?

  • Funny thing was priests were allowed to marry back then, weren't they? They just liked to party.

  • The plague actually began in inner China, and they didn't even mention how the plague really spread to Europe.

  • @karimberdi if it came from china how come we don't hear of millions of people dieing in china because the stupid Europeans wanna blame someone ells for there dirty living conditions

  • It did originate somewhere in the East. The reason we don't hear about it now is because the plague is no longer a threat to us.

The Europeans did have dirty living conditions and they probably did make the plaque worse but I highly doubt the plague originated there.

  • There were "stories about life being wiped-out in the East."

Our society is very Euro-centric, so we don't think of the dead Asians.

It has been firmly established that fleas on the backs of rats from the East caused the Plague.

  • The Plague = extremely deadly

swine flu = pathetic to what they suffered

  • Well, when you think of it, if they have had Swine Flu during that time, they would've been just as sick. They didn't know about spreading germs, immunizations, the FDA, and modern medicine.

  • @ajhaydenus

But at the same time cheif Modern medicine is just as much a problem know that it is widely available, think of it this way those plagues kept human population in check so that we where never really that over populated a large city back then was 200000 - 150000 people alot of people that should be dying aren't and know worries with out medicine I would have been died at 14 think of it look at your schools that you went to how many people you know that would...

  • @ajhaydenus

... have died had it not been for modern medicine their was a reason for Large families you may loss 50 to 80 percent of your children by the time they hit 10 I know this sounds heartless I really don't like are reliance on modern medicine after the plague those that lived Naturally had a very good immune system .

  • that may be true, however they didnt have vaccines, penicillin, or anything at all, and, unlike Ancient Greeks and Romans, they weren't as clean (the peasants at least) Also, check out Medieval toilets....disgusting stuff. I wouldnt want to go back in time to that age....

  • you ar right they didnt have vaccines and they werent clean . medieval toilets huh noo thanks

  • @bloody4psyhco we stopped it. Swine flu could have been plenty bad.

  • @bloody4psyhco The swine flu almost killed no body.

  • @bloody4psyhco Oh yeah! If the plague comes back , we would be terrified!

  • @Elizabeththegreatest it does from time to time actually but we can pwon and contain it now

  • @Bzdi138 not the septicaemic plague.

  • @bloody4psyhco only one type of plague is still deadly. Bubonic plague is definitely treatable and i think pneumonic plague is too.

  • @bloody4psyhco yeh u wouldnt b saying that if a family member of yours died.

  • Actually Swine Flu isn't a plague, it's a virus. The bubonic plague is a form of potentially deadly bacteria. And Swine Flu can easily be killed off by most of our immune systems, and most people who have this common cold won't even know they have it. Thanks for this upload though :)

  • Exactly :D

  • Yersinia Pestis ;]

  • lmao ok

  • The cure was to just take a damn shower how hard was that!? And they blamed Jews?! AWW COME ON!!

  • back then i dont think they could walk into their shower, turn the thing about 3/4 to ultra hot, and wash themselves with soap.

  • Back then they actually thought that showers where bad for their health.

  • @thissnowtastefunny

    Really???

  • The only way to stop a virus outbreak for making people sick. People need to wash their hands with antibacterial soap and start mopping the floors with hot water and bleach.

  • Yersinia Pestis wasn't a virus it was a Bactria and plus they weren't that clean.

  • I am so glad to have been born in a different time and place!

  • 2012 December 21st

Ive heard that's the end of the world :/
