I installed Windows 7 Ultimate x32 ( Original ) on my old IBM PC ( Pentium 2 , 512mb sdram , 40GB ide hdd 7200rpm ) .. installed about 30 mins and booted in 5 mins

@bigothetechguy Minimum is 512MB of RAM, and Video is optional. Windows 7 can run on ANY processor that is 90Mhz or more...

@bigothetechguy this is real. the requirements of Windows 7 given by Microsoft are purely theoritical. here you have the proof.

Windows 7 would work as usual with unsupported video card (just Aero wouldn't work), it didn't mind about the only 350 MHz CPU either. It can be installed with only 512 MB of RAM (just like Vista). Unfortunately you can't get past the memory check, so I installed with 512 MB's of RAM and then just decreased the RAM.

@darkkaiju899 Keep in mind XP was designed a decade ago, so now-13 year old hardware wouldn't be TOO far a stretch for the OS. Sure, it was bloated, but decent PC's back in 1998 had well in the 128MB ram range, so with effects and such turned off, XP would run well... :D

i was test windows 7 ultimate (it work with 512 mb ram) so please dont ask me how was work and when i put quake 1 (game) it was work very slowly(the game) and it work slow then my old computer i was have on him windows 95 and guess what it works good on my computer it has 7 years old specs:

512 mb ram 1.0ghz..... (in windows 7 0mb ram 1.0 ghz) with xp is more good

@OneEyedJack1970 A-Trend ATC-6220. Unfortunately this mobo doesn't have ACPI (which is required for Windows 7), but I found the way to get past that... :)

@daxtonanderson Windows 7 will run on 512mb ram systems regardless of which edition it is. I had 7 Professional running on my laptop with that amount of memory, it ran rather smoothly :)

I need to see evidence dude!! post a video of that... but i think that crysis would be a better way to show tha pawer of ur rig.. cus its like impossible to run that game maxed out at 60+FPS...  you can make the video with FRAPS.. or u can record it with a camera out screen so u dont get a performance impact.

That PC have 512 MBytes of RAM... Then that's possible to install Windows 7 on Pentium II, but it may take many time.
