The scenes for this video were shot in Hawaii in Sept. 1992. I saw them at War Memorial Gym on Maui, their last date of a huge tour promoting Ten. The performance portions of this video are from that show. It was literally in a gym, roll out bleachers for fixed seating. Maybe a thousand or so capacity. Though they did not perform this song, it was still a magical show.

I remember when I first saw a Pearl Jam video..It was Alive and I was absolutely mesmorized by Eddie's voice and blown away by their sound. I love every single song on this album, but this one..with its rolling percussion, the rhythm and Eddie's longing voice...draws you in and allows you to see yourself standing on the shore, with huge waves rolling in, longing for someone's return..or perhaps even your own return. This is probably my favorite Pearl Jam song on Ten.
Im 18 and I love heavier music (djent comes to mind), but there is something absolutely undeniably magical about the music pearl jam produced and continues to produce. Lets keep diverse, thoughtful music alive in these whoreish pop culture music dominated times.

Like alot of other artists that APPARENTELY diserve to be dissed too? Not just Kurt Cobain... You know the guy from the doors, who was just amazing... He overdosed.. Maybe he didnt blow his brains out... But same reason for both deaths... Think about how many people do the same thing before you talk shit about people... R.I.P Kurt Cobain!!

@RAWRxItzReggie The 'guy from the Doors' of whom you speak was the late, occasionally great, Jim Morrison. Supposedly he died from heart failure in the bath after consuming a large quantity of drugs, but nobody can really be sure HOW he died because an autopsy was never performed.

@RAWRxItzReggie I get that you were attempting to defend Nirvana and Kurt from personal attack. But when you think about it, trying to refute the "whiny emo" tag by saying a person was fucked-up by drugs isn't really a great defence - especially when most ppl are aware that Kurt was both a depressive and an addict for most of his adult life. Cobain and Morrison's personalities don't seem alike in the slightest, so there is really no comparison in either their lives or deaths.

@LantaGem He died from alcohol poisoning or heart failure from severe alcoholism. Not a doubt in my mind. Alcohol was his drug of choice, and it was going to be the one that killed him.

can't get why the hell you compare eddie and kurt. they both made same genres and are great singers. why do we need to compare? kurt got a perfect voice, so do eddie. just because cobain chose to commit a suicide doesn't make his voice and music bad, hell yeah maybe a bit more famous. but he didn't commit suicide to make himself more famous. he did cause he had problems.i am not saying commiting suicide just because you have problem is right. but you weren't cobain,you didn't live what he lived.
