  • Those ghost notes...

  • No one can lay it down like Dave. No one.

  • 90 year old will farrel

  • DEM GHOST NOTES!!!!!

  • What sabian ride is that? :D

  • @Rallestudio Sabian Vault/Signature Jam Master, I believe.

  • Uncle David, is the best groovin... i'll try to do the duck mouth and see if i can get groovier... haha...

  • The very essence of funk.....restraint and space and sheer GROOVE......loads of ghost notes - like have a percussionist in the background, and absolutely no show boating, just disciplined funkiness. If he'd been younger he would have got the job of being BOTH James Brown's drummers..love it

  • Probably one of the coolest thing in my life, is that my drum teacher is good friends with this god sent down from heaven.

  • Always surprises me to see that guys like this aren't playing hard at all.

  • soulless white people funk / fusion...

  • @ryder187mac Where can I find your brainless ethnic melodyless Rap/R&B video??

  • its good but no risk in this démo

  • i swear he`s playing backwards

  • i like how he is using a factory snare head

  • i can understand why there are 0 dislikes on this video

i won't understand if there is even 1 dislike on this video

  • Those hihats sound amazing! :)

  • look at his hands and arms....super loose! that only comes with decades of playing with TOP

  • Talking to him is like talking to a regular human being. But of course he is not human.

  • @billytheweasel Ever heard of reptilians.. (LOL)

  • Kim jesteś jayziembka ? Znamy się ? Jeśli tak to pisz; wladek.blajchert@wp.pl

  • David "Farmaceuta" from Chemist Shop. -Gandalf from Legnica

  • @Wladek60 LEGNICA! :D

  • In love

  • What is the name of the left crash that he is using???!

  • @Dragspelarn23 It's a Sabian HHX X-Treme crash, think the 19"

  • bringing the funk back in music!

  • What I find so great about Garibaldi that he doesn't feel the urge to show off. Only when the groove asks for it he'll go beserk. Very musical drummer.

  • What's that Sabian Ride he's using? I dig it.

  • @drummer468 pretty sure its his signature ride. Jam master 22''

  • @mdgab321 Thanks. :)

  • I love the loose feel, its so freeeeeee

  • passing this guy in the street or Home Depot...you'd never know he kills the drums

  • @yesnokeigh right?

  • @yesnokeigh right?

  • I like with them shoes. seems funny on him tho

  • I like them shoes. seems funny on him tho

  • @yesnokeigh yeah! he looks extraordinarily average!

  • I met him once about 10 years ago. A friend of mine that used to jam with David G and I had a chance to speak with him for about three minutes after a show. He struck me as very humble, almost shy. I still think about the meeting him.

  • @yesnokeigh yeah, colaiuta looks like somebody's tax lawyer, but he plays like a madman.

  • It looks like the sticks are just about to go flying out of his hands! Such a loose grip!! Pretty cool.

  • Feeel !

  • BORING PLAYING ? alright its funk and the groove is held tight by the drums and so the playing should be repetetive ( for dance purpose) but there is so much more you can do !!!!!! good bu wanna see more fill ins plus triplets work really well on this track

  • @MrJfeast you obviously don't have feel for groovin.. This is groovin..and it's very very nice..

  • nice adidas!

  • The key to this technique wise is looseness. Watch closely how he is just dropping the sticks, lots of space in his hands, extremely relaxed, there is enough weight in the sticks to for them to do the work. If you have the technique the correct the sticks almost play themselves. You are just moving them, staying out of the way, letting them do the work. That is where the groove comes from!

  • @webstercat Right you are my man! When I play that loosely, I get that beautiful tone that David's got and my grooves are in the pocket. How tightly or loosely you hold your sticks really has an effect on the sound you draw from your drums.....especially the snare drum.

  • AWESOME!!!!! Its going to be my next playalong music to learn some funky beats :)

  • The David Garibaldi Signature Snare drum by Yamaha...........Don't play funk without it!

  • He´s a machine, not a human ... a machine!!!

  • @mrblueonions machines dnt hav feel lyk that.!!!!!!!!!!

  • He use Soprano snare made by YAMAHA.

  • @mabokun817 Exactly the Yamaha David Garibaldi Signature, brass, 14x3.5, zinc Die-Casts

  • @mabokun817 not all of the time. more often than not he either uses a Piccolo snare or a high tension american version of a tarol snare.

  • @mabokun817 That's his Signature Snare by Yamaha. Not just any Soprano!

  • Comment removed

  • what kind of snare is he using? it sounds awesome!

  • @gghhxyz999 mabokun is close - it's the Yamaha David Garibaldi signature snare - 3.5x14 brass shell with die-cast hoops

  • @dwsabianguy I purchased one a while back and when I play, I get that sound he gets. I know that copying a cat's snare sound may not be all that original but I must admit that his sounds so good that I am unashamed at my reproduction of it. It makes playing funk so much damned fun!

  • Nice Adidas sneakerss

  • He's always so relax and smooth!! Awsome drummer!!!!

  • this piece is quite a challenge to master! :( xx

  • David, you're the king of funk man
