@DoubleDz2k11 You're talking about 5/100 of an inch in either way (.70 .75 .80). This is a depth measurement which is a Very Small Change! .75 is 3/4" as 5.75 is 5 3/4". .80 is 4/5 of an inch as 5 4/5". And this is only the depth of the drum. Don't get confuse like Spinal Tap with their Stonehenge!!!
When I hear to Benny, pluys my nowadays favorite drummers, Jojo Mayer and Mr. Steve Smith, each of them accidentally (?) on Sonor, I have to admit they at Sonor definitely got me... too bad for them I'm a serial vintage Ludwigs proud and superhappy owner ;)
@pathemus there's no such thing as a "Dr Dre Beat" because he, like most hip-hop, samples OTHER people's music because they don't know how to make their own. The sample a REAL musician, then just rap over it.
@MeetTheMattsons Oh my goodness, I was joking. Did you even listen to the beat he plays at 3:04? That's most definitely NOT your average hip hop beat.
@siobhan104 for that reason I will never buy a dw kit, drummers are just taken over by them when I think any pro gretsch or sonor models could beat them without being so over priced.
@dustyowl99 kick is 18". floor tom is 16". but i know what you mean. the FT sounds amazingly huge and fat with its beautiful sound. kick is for bebop and latin type patterns.
@ishyboy1993 Yeah, technically, he is, but when you ask a drummer how he makes his living, he will say drums. In the credits of albums, it will say drums if they play drums, and percussion if they play any other type of percussion.
I think my next drum kit will be a Sonor and it will most likely be the last drum kit I buy because of how great the drums sound. Congratulations to Benny Greb, I will be looking into getting this snare next year but for now I working on getting the 20" Sand Ride and Trash Hats.
@paulvenkman haha i will be getting all of his signature stuff because they are so versatile and good stuff which can be used in loads of different styles of music. ohh yea and a sq2 and meinl byzances crashes and stuff like that lol
By listening to his explanations on how they came out with the idea of odd size, it reminds me Neil Peart's video were he explained his concept of a 23" bassdrum to get the best of both world: the punch of a 22" and the boom of the 24".
