  • 3:17 What's with the banana sticks in all these Sonor vids? :P

  • one of my favourite drummers. sick.

  • Benny's snare and Brian Fraser-Moore's' from Tama are my favorites right now, they are extremely versatile!Love them to death.

  • this guy is a stud.

  • Sounds sick when cranked high at the beggining

  • Loooooooove that sound at 3:17

  • 3:32 wwwwwwwwwwww

  • they say kids got the beat, but Benny Greb truely got the beat!

  • for $900 that must be one heck of a snare

  • insane sound...!!!!<3

  • 3:07 Axé music from Brasil

  • it's not about the kit, but who's behind it. Greb can sound good on a spongebob drumset.

  • ah he's so great. I aspire to be that awesome at drumming

  • how does he get that such good sound out off low tuning? xD , such an awesome drum and such an awesome drummer

  • that bass drum sounds like a floor tom. sick.

  • I like the snare I use...I just keep watching this because everything he plays is so damn cool

  • 3:32 - crazy!

  • 4:10 playing swung quavers over straight quavers. now that is hard to do.

  • @muso123456 his co-ordination is simply amazing

  • that floortom sounds killer !!!

  • King of groove

  • I've been watching this for a little over then a year, and I still don't get tired of it!!!

  • After I take a shower because I just shit myself

  • I MUST HAVE THIS NOW

  • AAAAAAAAAaaa... SO NICE SOUND!! ...aaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!

  • more with less

  • amazing!

what a great drummer and a very nice sounding snare drum!

I'll have take look on sonor drums in future ;)

  • That is the filthiest lick at the beginning of the video. That fill at 0:34 made me hit myself too.

  • What a mind blowing snare drum! How much is it? I'm on look out for a new snare..

I've never heard of Benny Greb. But I'm so glad I have now!! TOP!!

  • 3:32 ............... omg

  • i love his mini bass drum

  • BENNY IS FUCK

  • You've have got too be kidding me. 3:31 is just insanse.

  • That man is a legend. I'm going to his Mastersession drumcamp in April.

Gonna live with him for 4 days at a music academy and learn from his vast knowledge.

  • benny greb provest that you don't need a freaking large kit to play amazing stuff! you can get pretty far with purity and simplicity;)

  • good thing its 13x5.75", 13x5.70" would be way to small of a target, but 13x5.80" would have been fucking ridiculous.

  • @DoubleDz2k11 You're talking about 5/100 of an inch in either way (.70 .75 .80). This is a depth measurement which is a Very Small Change! .75 is 3/4" as 5.75 is 5 3/4". .80 is 4/5 of an inch as 5 4/5". And this is only the depth of the drum. Don't get confuse like Spinal Tap with their Stonehenge!!!

  • @keepntyme i know i completely fucked up the measurements there!

id i only discovered now its a top comment! pretty shit top comment if u ask me ! :L

  • @DoubleDz2k11 you're talking about the depth bro

  • @DoubleDz2k11 the 5.75 is the depth not the diameter ^^

  • @DoubleDz2k11 5.75 is depth.

  • @DoubleDz2k11 5.75 is depth.

  • Dat bass drum sound

  • It really is impressive how good of a sound you can get out of such a small bass drum. Incredible snare too.

  • Keep it up, brother, greetings from Venezuela!

  • I just bought it yesterday and i cant stop playing and staring at it. I LOVE IT!!!

  • Am I the only one who liked the floor tom more than the snare? :P

  • @smithcory5 yeah you're original

  • the groove with the brushes is so nasty!

  • harbiden iyiymiş trampetin tonu

  • When I hear to Benny, pluys my nowadays favorite drummers, Jojo Mayer and Mr. Steve Smith, each of them accidentally (?) on Sonor, I have to admit they at Sonor definitely got me... too bad for them I'm a serial vintage Ludwigs proud and superhappy owner ;)

    However, hat off to Sonor!

  • beautifull..

  • 3:04 Killah groove!

  • @ks3842 Dr. Dre beat right there.

  • @pathemus there's no such thing as a "Dr Dre Beat" because he, like most hip-hop, samples OTHER people's music because they don't know how to make their own. The sample a REAL musician, then just rap over it.

  • @MeetTheMattsons Oh my goodness, I was joking. Did you even listen to the beat he plays at 3:04? That's most definitely NOT your average hip hop beat.

  • es buenisimo!

  • Gadd influences him a lot.

  • what a great demo! really shows off many of the aspects of the drum!

i wish more snare demos were like this >.<

  • Boy, not only can Benny do it all, he's just so damned tasty too! What a great musician!

  • i bought that snaredrum and it has such a f***ing good sound, no matter if it's tuned high or low or if i play loud or careful...

  • @stagepark Wow, must have set you back a fair bit, eh!

  • @DethLector no, here in germany it's "only" 675$ (s.th. about 530€) :-)

  • ahhhh.....what a sound...I like it...

  • that does sound fkn good id like to hear it unmicc'd tho

  • has anyone bought or heard one of these in person? knowing master greb it will be damn good, his sand ride is wicked

  • Really talented player, nice sounding snare too, wouldn't mind trying it out.

  • What a tasty drummer!

  • Benny Greb makes me proud to be half german :)

  • only 1,000 dollars!!!

  • Benny makes every practice an adventure.

  • what ride is that?

  • @kirillkhassine94 It's his signature 20" MEINL Byzance Sand Ride.

  • I wonder if Benny will be the next Sonor drummer to swap to DW?. The mans a genius.

  • @siobhan104 for that reason I will never buy a dw kit, drummers are just taken over by them when I think any pro gretsch or sonor models could beat them without being so over priced.

  • @JerrysDerby You are not wrong there mate. I put the new Evans G- plus heads on my Mapex Meridian kit and it sounds great.

  • Haha wtf?! 3:29

    O_o

  • Real man, thanks for your art )

  • 0:30 - "einh"

    Godful. I mean, Grebful.

  • Listen to pitch of the bass drum at 3:04 as he's grooving..... HOW?!

  • WOW, He plays the best reggae beat that I have ever heard...YA MON...

  • the fill at 2:21

  • Uffft the snare sounds he gets are sweet. The high crisp sound 0:00 to 0:17 that phat snare sound.

  • Gary Moore T-shirt. what a guy. both Benny and Gary

  • I bought this snare a couple of days ago, loving every single sound it makes!

  • his floor tom is bigger than his kick

  • @dustyowl99 kick is 18". floor tom is 16". but i know what you mean. the FT sounds amazingly huge and fat with its beautiful sound. kick is for bebop and latin type patterns.

  • @Brok3nCarlos what about reggae and hip-hop?

  • @Brok3nCarlos The bass drum in this video is a 20 X 16, not an 18.

  • como algo tan pequeno pude dar tanto poder

  • i woud get it but its 800 bucks

  • every Benny Greb video is an inspiration. even when he's just talking

  • this not only shows how versitile the snare is but how how versitile benny is oh my god....!

  • I liked the part with Benny Greb.

  • He's the next Ed Thigpen with that brush playing.

  • That snare sounds as beautiful as it looks!

  • want this snare

  • the depth that he ended up with for that snare is pure german style logic xD

  • @heinzie5 NOT 5, NOT 6.5, 5.75!!!!!!!! lol

  • @heinzie5 he asked the guy from the Dyson to create a vortex wind tunnel inside it.

  • Benny Greb is not a drummer. He is a Percussionist.

  • @ishyboy1993 He's both, but he makes his living playing drums, not percussion.

  • @PoeticJustice05 Drums are percussion. He makes his living as a percussionist. Don't come at me with corrections that are incorrect.

That being said, I was saying he was a percussionist because of the bit where we was playing with a Shaker and doing the Latin styled music.

    He's great.

  • @ishyboy1993 Yeah, technically, he is, but when you ask a drummer how he makes his living, he will say drums. In the credits of albums, it will say drums if they play drums, and percussion if they play any other type of percussion.

  • I think my next drum kit will be a Sonor and it will most likely be the last drum kit I buy because of how great the drums sound. Congratulations to Benny Greb, I will be looking into getting this snare next year but for now I working on getting the 20" Sand Ride and Trash Hats.

  • @paulvenkman haha i will be getting all of his signature stuff because they are so versatile and good stuff which can be used in loads of different styles of music. ohh yea and a sq2 and meinl byzances crashes and stuff like that lol

  • In my opinion Benny Greb can make a snare made of pure SHIT sounds like one made of diamonds .

  • The name should be "SONOR BENNY GREB Signature Snare Drum Porn"

  • Smallest bass drum in the world.

  • @FurlanPaolo Halfway through the video he starts using like a 16 inch bass drum.

  • @ShittyMcPoopyBalls True, I didn't noticed that. Thank you.

    BTW I use a 14x12 Maple Custom 10.000 floor as a bass-drum... :-))

  • @FurlanPaolo I find that ridiculous.

  • the title of this video should be: SONOR BENNY GREB Signature Snare Drum Porn Vid

  • 3:32 WTF

  • haa timpini sticks at the end

  • so why the guys at sonor never thought that depth as a possibilitie? beacuase they dont play like benny, he knows things you and I dont.

  • :o not that long ago this snare was like US$1150 and now its like US$899 (not including US$100 shipping. lol)

  • By listening to his explanations on how they came out with the idea of odd size, it reminds me Neil Peart's video were he explained his concept of a 23" bassdrum to get the best of both world: the punch of a 22" and the boom of the 24". Benny & Neil, being the premium drummers they are, can ask R&D dept. of their respective brand to work something "off-standards" for them. Both Sonor & DW just benefit from these inputs and releasing Signature Models for their top endorsees. Thumbs up!

  • this one could be a teaser for his signature snare, but it's really educational. Lots of drumming facts here.

  • he makes it look so easy

  • I just picked one of these up from Boston Drum Center and it's fantastic. It really shines in a band setting. Pricey yes, but well worth it.

  • LOL.. Travis Barker is better my ass. Hey everybody lets hike our hi-hat stand up that way we can have terrible technique!!! Id like to know how many drummers Travis has messed up by wanting to be like him and setting their drums up in a completely idiotic manner. Travis is a fantastic drummer.... and wealthy as all hell... but he is NO Benny

  • travis barker is better

  • @Wowurgaylol youre stupid

  • @nathanomgnathan it was a joke Dickface Mcgee. Put on a tampon you two-faced faggot ass motherfucker.

  • @Wowurgaylol whoa whoa. dont be calling names buddy, i was merely checking if you were mentally insane or not, and i guess youre not, so thanks for only kidding

  • 3:30 :O

  • He's SO creative.

  • it must be so much fun being that talented

  • 3:31 WTF>??

  • The second groove he plays reminds me of a take on sweetest taboo by sade. SONOR = the best.

  • To me he is the new Steve Gadd

  • @jmelas By any chance is that because he used gadds licks in the second clip... Idiot

  • @DavidJF123 I have heard thousands of Gadd licks in youtube from other drummers. Benny's dynamics and feel is so close to Steve Gadd's signature drumming, period.

  • @DavidJF123 Idiot? Ya, no. Grow up.

  • 4:58... wow. He plays so little, but it says so much!

  • He is probably the only drummer that makes me feel good about using matched grip.

  • @GloriaChiever No shame in matched grip my friend! I play with both, tradition for jazz and fusion and matched for rock, both feel great!

  • Holy FAWK! That was insane.

  • 1:59-2:40

We all know the snare is great but seriously, just listen to that kick drum!

  • HOW MUCH?? I WANT IT!!!!

  • 0:30 "Ugh." So groovy he can't even control himself.

  • Comment removed

  • what is the exact drumhead on his snare in this vid?

  • Sonor, make me your slave.

  • that brush sequence was killer...

  • i love how his german accent sounds :D

  • His grooves are soo good! damn his use of dynamics is incredible

  • Yes, I have seen the Benny with Spongebob kit clip. It was funny and great!

  • it's lukcy SONOR.....it has Benny Greb,Jojo Mayer,Steve Smith,Gavin Harrison,Alex Cenny.........

  • @MrAlexdrummer and Chris Coleman ;D

  • @MrAlexdrummer Danny Carey...

  • @MrAlexdrummer Tomas Haake

  • @MrAlexdrummer

chris coleman - they must pay well

  • @MrAlexdrummer Thomas lang

  • @StickHits No, he switched to DW awhile ago.

  • @MrAlexdrummer Emmanuelle Caplette... haha

  • @MrAlexdrummer Not to forget Danny Carey.

  • @MrAlexdrummer and danny carey, and christoph schneider, and shannon leto, shame thomas lang switched over to DW though

  • @MrAlexdrummer they're not lucky, ever wondered how they got these drummers? because they are the best.

  • @MrAlexdrummer and danny carey

  • @MrAlexdrummer The best drummers, choose the best brand

  • @Unungordium ummm. pretty sure they dont get to pick the brand they play, they get offered endorsments.

  • @Brok3nCarlos

Pretty sure they would get offers from a range of brands, hense the picking of the brand

  • @Brok3nCarlos Drummers do in fact pick the brand they play. They do get offered endorsements, but they pick the brand that they like the most. Besides, a lot of drummers actually go to a certain company and ask for an endorsement, rather than being offered.

  • @MrAlexdrummer You forgot Danny Carey.

  • i love the voice of this snare drum!

  • I love how fat it sounds, lots of chunk for recording.. I need to invest in this snare.
