@LivingForTheFuture no probs man. The best time to do it would be the fall as the weeds are either dying out or slowing the growing process down. Between Mid August and Mid September. That'll give you time to out compete the weeds, and hopefully next year you'll have a nice lush lawn. Good luck man

@LivingForTheFuture I'd do a whole family thing of turning the soil over with spades/forks or just get a rotavator and rotivate the lot. Rake it even then just grass seed it all over twice the dose. It will out compete weeds by a season or two
