@dukemcdan I remember Sonny McDaniel and so many others from 1940s Playland. I'm really happy to learn that at least one is still with us. He wouldn't remember me. I was the little brunette sitting on Nell Marshall's lap during the races and my parents were John Marvin and Trudy Hansard. He might remember them. Daddy died years ago, but Mother lived till 2009. She didn't remember what she had for breakfast, but she remembered the drivers and mechanics from the races at Playland Park. Judy

Billy Wade was killed at Daytona in the '60's during a tire test. I also saw the Burtons who were famous for their "Burton Bombs", and their big rivals at that time, the Tallotas.
