I absolutely love this look & have bought this product but am having a lil trouble w/applying it. I'm not sure if I need to do it right after i put on foundation or after my powder. Also when do I do the blush? Please help!!!
I saw in another one of your videos that you put NARS sheer glow on your face after foundation, Do you still put that on if you're going to use illuminizer?? I'd love to know because I'm still searching for the perfect way to get a natural glow to my foundation! Thanks!
U shud try Hard Candy's new Glow All The Way Luminizing Lotion for Face and Body they have 1 called doll face it's like a pinky silvery luminizer, 1 called glamazon it's a golden toned luminizer, & a new bronze self tanning 1
I also tried the Milan lip colors you recommended. They are pretty but they dont stay on and are terribly "goopy". I bought the pencils too and unfortunately in less than 30min they are all rubbed off. A good lip line to use that stays on , you do NOT need any top coat or gloss as it does it all without the goopy over glossy look and feel is Sephora. Sephora has great lipsticks that stay on. They (to me) are far better than NARS, Clinique and other brands.
Hi, I tried alot of your recommendations and was disappointed. The Redken Soft hair products were not good on my hair. The conditioner didnt absorb, I have distressed, dry, wavy hair (nothing horrendous but it does need a good, quality conditioner). This line I was hoping would be quality but I had terrible time getting my comb through my hair after use. Will not use again. Tried the Miracle 10 leave in..that was really disappointing. Still had terrible time getting comb through.
@Sydney0502 That's ok! There are a ton of products that people recommend on YouTube, blogs, MakeupAlley, etc. and they don't work for me at all. We're all so different, so there's no guarantee. Hope you were able to at least return the products that didn't work!
@Sydney0502 I'm a hairdresser, and based on the issues you've described that you're having with your hair, you may want to try Moroccanoil Moisture Repair Shampoo & Conditioner, or Bumble & Bumble Gentle Shampoo and Super Rich COnditioner. You should also be using a deep conditioner every 2 weeks or so. Try Moroccanoil'ds Restorative Hair Mask or Bumble & Bumble's Deeep.
Hi, you mentioned mixing the luminizer with foundation but in your tutorial you dont mix it at all? You simply squirt alittle on your hand and dot on your high points? So is that what you ment..on "top" of foundation or could you actually "mix" this in with the Estee Lauder DW foundation? Im really curious as wouldnt that make your face too shiny? Or would it awaken flat makeups? Can someone answer as it is frustrating questions not getting adddressed on here?
I have the Lorac silicone free Primer love it, and it wont irrate ur skin. My fave luminizor is Flash by Smashbox its beautiful also eye bright from Benefit is really nice too!
You must love the Lorac bronzer. I see you always use the "glow" bronzer. Do you mean "warm glow?" I'm trying to find it at Ulta and Sephora but the only one they have is "warm glow." Is that the one you use?
okk sooo which gives more of a glowy look? lorac luminizer or nars Mutiplesss?! and omg ur soo pretty, i wish i lived near by u so u could do my make up :P!
Hi Nur! I've been trying to look for this lorac luminizer EVERYWHERE, did they discontinue it? I didn't want to buy it online because I definitely want to try before I buy since it is pretty expensive, do you know any stores that might have this luminizer? I'd really appreciate it <3 p.s. will it still look good on me if i have super duper chubby cheeks? Thanks!
Boots No.7 has a product called HighLights for about $13 at Target! I like it and I have a deeper skin tone than yours! It looks pinkish in bottle but comes out looking nice on my skin. Would love it if you can try and do a review an maybe even a comparison video? Thanks a lot Nur!
Hi Nur, I live in HK and Lorac isn't available however I have heard very good feedbacks on the Giorgio Armani luminizer and I was wondering if you'd think the GA luminizer is a good dupe to your Lorac luminizer?
I love a luminous look as well, but I usually use it in a powder form and all over after foundation or at the end to just blend everything. I am older than you...by quite a bit. So my question would be...do you think this would work better than the powder or it do they both have the same effect? Also, do you think the liquid would be better for older skin? Thanks so much :)
Hi Nur, I hope you read this one, I was wondering if you could please do a video on how you improved your skin to what it is like now, because you mentioned having really bad skin. I've been struggeling with acnescars for years now, it drives me insane. If you could give some info about what helped for you, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
Can't wait to try it. What is your opinion on powder formula - especially the Milani or Physicians Formulas Glimmer Strips - are those the same as these??
OMG I use the same thing, now I am trying out the Georgia Armani natural Luminizer glow #3, it’s a bit dark for me, but I just use tinny bit for my entire face and I don’t even use a bronzer. I will do a review later.
I totally recommend Mac's Pearl cream colour base, I love it, its my staple! You could probably pull it off in the shade Hush or Fawntastic because your skin is definitely darker than mine, but any of those would be beautiful on you!
Hi Nur, I came back today to write this comment in , I watched this video when it posted and my Husband saw you and said "Wow she's beautiful, she's wearing makeup?" I said YES, That's the whole point ! to just enhance our natural beauty ! I love all your simple looks and tips to get those beautiful natural glowing results ! ~Mary~
My HG is Prescriptives Sheen Cream in Beam it is the perfect consistency and color it is a champagne color not too light and not too dark I have yet to find a dupe as it is dc'ed :( luckily i have 1 backup and 1 has lasted me over 3 years and still going cuz it is so much product for the money
I encourage women to try Bobbi Brown's all over bronzing gel. It is fabulous. You only need a dab to go under your foundation and it brings your whole face to life. It really keeps the foundation from looking so 'done up.' It makes your face look natural but still flawless. Get a sample everyone
That looks great! I'm definitely going to have to get this quick. A saleslady at Sephora told me that they will not be carrying Lorac soon. I don't know if they meant all Sephora stores but I was bummed out. Anywho, I have a ??? In your older video, you said you were able to get a pump for your Double Wear. Where can I find one? EL told me they don't have pumps for DW :-(
Try the Tarte Smooth Operator Illuminating Serum! It's definitely not as pigmented as the Lorac Luminzer, so I like to apply it under my foundation for a subtle glow. You can get it with the Rested and Radiant boxed set at Sephora.
Love luminizer!:) Thanks for this vid! I love the Revlon...uhhh crap I forgot what its called...skinlights! I use #2 or 3 and its a bit of a tanner color too! Perfect!!:D
try Clinique's Up-Lighting Liquid Illuminator! It might be a little too watery for you though =/. maybe test it on the back of your hand in the store to check? It's great though, not too obvious. Oh and it comes in a few shades!
i really like my red earth secret potion in thriller, its a liquid in a glass jar, you can mix it with foundation or apply it on its own, i even use it on my clavicle to catch the light :)
You are so beautiful! Your lip color always look so nice - it would be great if you would do a video that features your favorite lipstick/lipgloss combinations!?
Laura Mercier's Tinted Illuminizers are GORGEOUS to mix in w/ your foundation and her Illuminating powders are really beautiful too! I'm all about the glowing skin girl, you look great!
Nur, I love chanel base lumiere for glam nights, you may want to give that a try. I oftentimes use le blanc de chanel which provides with a natural glow :)
I love using Mac Cream Color Base in Shell as a luminizer. I put it on after my foundation and pressed powder if I want a really dewy, glowy look but if I want a subtler look I put it on before my pressed powder. This sounds like a great alternative! Thanks xoxo
I also use MAC cream color base in shell. I think I'm going to try the Lorac one now. I always heard that liquid luminizer/highlighter empasizes problematic skin so i always steered away from it. Do you apply luminizer before or after blush and contouring?
I use MAC Lustre Drops. I have a golden color and more of a pink-y golden color and I LOVE the Lustre Drops especially for nighttime because it's a high pigmented gold. The only thing is that they are limited edition so they only have them sometimes. During the day I like to use MAC Cream Colour Base in Hush. It's a frost finish that leaves your skin looking really dewy that is subtle enough for daytime! I usually use my finger or a small brush, but I LOVE how it looks w/ the beauty blender!
dumb question, do you powder b4 or after luminizer? Do you have a favorite mineral skin finish for lighter skin tone than you w/ yellow undertones, thanks girlie.
ive been using a revlon age defying skinlights one! i also have an inglot one which i like as well. but im not sure if you have inglot in your area?? theres a couple of inglot stores here in melbourne, australia :) xo
Hi there! I have a question that I know you will be able to answer since you said you have had skin problems in the past. I have a dilemma: I have acne prone skin, particularly on the forehead and nose. I would love to put foundation on to make my skin look better but I feel like covering it up with product will not help with my pimples! What should I do/what did you do when you were dealing with your skin? Thanks =)
revlon has a luminizer in a tube with a brush attached ,has alot of rave on you tube . I love hush from mac but alltime fave is benefitt high beam and nars copacabana multiple !! xo Jessie
Another great video, Nur--love your demos. My favourite luminizer is MAC's cream colour base in Hush; this gives a very natural lit-from-within look as opposed to sparkle or obvious highlighter.
Try the e.l.f. facial shimmering whips-there is a blue toned and a gold toned one. They appear to be the same consistency as the LORAC product. Can't go wrong for a $1. BTW-when you pull your hair back, you look SO young-like junior high young! Too cute!
Nur - I have such obnoxious skin ( oily and acney prone ) is the LORAC luminizer okay for my skin type? I've always wanted to try one but didn't want to waste my money on something that may irritate my skin. Btw - love your skin and makeup in this video
I want to use a highlighter on my face but i feel like i cant because my cheeks are small and then there wont be any room for blush. Any suggestions on the placement of my blush and highlight?
Hey Nur, love love love the videos...but luminizer wise, you might want to try CHANEL SHEER ILLUMINATING FLUID. It's absolutely amazing, like the Lorac one you can mix it or add it on top. T=It can be used on the body or missed with eyeshadows - it's one of the best things i've ever bought (it's about £30 so maybe $35-$40). A little on the expensive side, but liek you, i've tried so many but this was the one that stuck! xxx
Great video nur, u look stunning. I live in Australia and I'm not sure if u have these products where u are but I have a red earth illuminating fluid, called secret potion in the colour magician which is a shimmering bronzey colour and it's gorgeous, if you wanted to check it out.
yes a video showing how to hide acne scars would be great! i have neva used concealer cuz i dont know how. and when i wear foundation it looks cakey and dry on my cheeks and worsens my skin and makes my acne look more prominent and dry. :( any suggestions? a video help? :(
oh my! i have this stuff too and haven't used it in years!! thanks for showing how to apply it-i will use it up now! :) you look so happy in this video Nur, may you always be that way. God bless you girl, wish the happiness was contagious! :)
1) MAC's Mineralize Skinfinish Powder in "Soft and Gentle" and "Candlelight".
2) MAC's Iridescent Loose Powder in "Silver Dusk" and "Golden Bronze".
3) Dior's Powder in "Amber Diamond".
4) Chanel's (I forgot the name).
Mac's iridescent loose powders are my favorite right now. I mix silver dusk with golden bronze and it makes the best highlighter/luminizer. You can also mix it with body lotion and it gives your body the best glow ever.
just recently got ysl touche eclat in 3. been experimenting with it and using it as an illuminator and under my eyes. have you ever tried this product? if so, what do you think of it? thanks! :)
Thanks soooo much for this video...ive been searching and searching for as highlighter like this that shows up on the cheeks....ill let you know if it works for me.I just purchased Estee Lauders Double Wear Foundation today so I'm so excited to try it out :) You are my Favorite Guru on YT. Thanks for all your time and energy that goes into making these videos to help us out. <3

I love luminizers. Probably way too much. Love MAC's cream colour base in shell and hush. Love Dior's Amber Diamond powder. I have several but those are my favorites. You look gorgeous in this, and all, your videos. Thanks for the time you take to make them. I appreciate all your tips and advice.
Love this info!!! I love using MAC's Cream Colour Base in Pearl as a luminizer....it gives a real subtle luminocity that can be worn every day. Thanks for the recommendation of LORAC.
Great video! My favorites are nars south beach multiple (medium-tan skin can only pull it off as a luminizer) and mac cream color base in shell. Both are so pretty and easy to work with :)
i love the trish mcevoy luminizer it's so natural lasts all day the applications simple because it's a twist and brush on product deffiantely something i'd repurchase i like benefits one but it's slightly shimmery so not really wearable for all occasions
You're awesome!! Nur, I have a similar skintone as yours....I was wondering if you can compare this to benefit moonbeam? ...Also, could you do a video about how you dealt with acne and acne scarring?? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!
@ssblahblah I've tried Moonbeam! Should have mentioned this in the video. It looks like NOTHING on my skin. It just blends away into oblivion. HIgh Beam is better, but too pink for my skin at times.
@nurberxo Thanks Nur!! I'll try the LORAC one...like I said I'm maybe a little darker than you but very similar skin tone..........I do hope you make that acne-related video :) Thanks for being such a doll about responding to messages!!!
Is luminizer different than highlighter? I've been using Dior "Amber Diamond" or MAC's "Candlelight". I had a liquid one from Prescriptives a LONG time ago, and still have it; never got into the habit of using it or knew how really. Thanks for showing us!
@delacotta360 Nope, same thing, different forms =) Both are meant to highlight your face. Although luminizer can be mixed with foundation and I think it looks more like a "glow from within" in-person. For everyday, powder highlight is much quicker though!
@nurberxo yeah its cheap and its pretty thick and i dont like them when they shimmer/glitter like crazy and shimmer whip is just a light touch ... if you get what im sayin :)
OMGosh! Mixing your luminizer with your foundation! THANK YOU!

Hi, I tried alot of your recommendations and was disappointed. The Redken Soft hair products were not good on my hair. The conditioner didnt absorb, I have distressed, dry, wavy hair (nothing horrendous but it does need a good, quality conditioner). Very nice. I have a new lorac highlighting powder that I'm playing with. The liquid luminizer looks great on you.

Wonderful video!
I'm wondering if anyone know s if this is anything like mac rebel drops or benefit's moonbeam?

can you do a tut for this look?

I love using Mac Cream Color Base in Shell as a luminizer. I put it on after my foundation and pressed powder if I want a really dewy, glowy look but if I want a subtler look I put it on before my pressed powder. This sounds like a great alternative! Thanks xoxo

I never used the beauty blender with a luminizer, I'm gonna try it thanks for the trick =D
DoupleT 1 year ago
I also use MAC cream color base in shell. I think I'm going to try the Lorac one now. I always heard that liquid luminizer/highlighter empasizes problematic skin so i always steered away from it. Do you apply luminizer before or after blush and contouring?
Parveena786 1 year ago
I love High Beam and Dior's Amber Diamond. Theyre awesome on my skintone(I'm a tad darker than you).

NatalieRose34 1 year ago
dumb question, do you powder b4 or after luminizer? Do you have a favorite mineral skin finish for lighter skin tone than you w/ yellow undertones, thanks girlie.

I have picked this up so many times...just never have give in to try it.

Thanks =)
iluvnola123 1 year ago
the brand No 7 at target has a fantastic one! you get a large amount of product for around $11. i have also heard that it is similar to high beam.

revlon has a luminizer in a tube with a brush attached ,has alot of rave on you tube . I love hush from mac but alltime fave is benefitt high beam and nars copacabana multiple !! xo Jessie

I haven't tryed other luminizers but use e.l.f in toatsted, its only a dollar and it works for me
ShampAgne88 1 year ago
Another great video, Nur--love your demos. My favourite luminizer is MAC's cream colour base in Hush; this gives a very natural lit-from-within look as opposed to sparkle or obvious highlighter.

you look so pretty and classy!
I like using MAC MSF in Soft and Gentle to have the same effect.

so getting this!

Any suggestions on the placement of my blush and highlight?
neggs26 1 year ago
Hey Nur, love love love the videos...but luminizer wise, you might want to try CHANEL SHEER ILLUMINATING FLUID. It's absolutely amazing, like the Lorac one you can mix it or add it on top. T=It can be used on the body or missed with eyeshadows - it's one of the best things i've ever bought (it's about £30 so maybe $35-$40). A little on the expensive side, but liek you, i've tried so many but this was the one that stuck! xxx

Great video, you look so good with that lipstick. I have a quick question: when do u apply the luminizer? Before u power your face or after ??
TinaNg0905 1 year ago
These are my favorites:
1) MAC's Mineralize Skinfinish Powder in "Soft and Gentle" and "Candlelight".
2) MAC's Iridescent Loose Powder in "Silver Dusk" and "Golden Bronze".
3) Dior's Powder in "Amber Diamond".
4) Chanel's (I forgot the name).
Mac's iridescent loose powders are my favorite right now. I mix silver dusk with golden bronze and it makes the best highlighter/luminizer. You can also mix it with body lotion and it gives your body the best glow ever.

I love luminizers. Probably way too much. Love MAC's cream colour base in shell and hush. Love Dior's Amber Diamond powder. I have several but those are my favorites. You look gorgeous in this, and all, your videos. Thanks for the time you take to make them. I appreciate all your tips and advice.

woud you recommend a luminizer for oily skin as well? If not then what?
thanks!

Love this info!!! I love using MAC's Cream Colour Base in Pearl as a luminizer....it gives a real subtle luminocity that can be worn every day. Thanks for the recommendation of LORAC.

i love the trish mcevoy luminizer it's so natural lasts all day the applications simple because it's a twist and brush on product deffiantely something i'd repurchase i like benefits one but it's slightly shimmery so not really wearable for all occasions

You're awesome!! Nur, I have a similar skintone as yours....I was wondering if you can compare this to benefit moonbeam? ...Also, could you do a video about how you dealt with acne and acne scarring?? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!
ssblahblah 1 year ago
@ssblahblah I've tried Moonbeam! Should have mentioned this in the video. It looks like NOTHING on my skin. It just blends away into oblivion. HIgh Beam is better, but too pink for my skin at times.
nurberxo 1 year ago
@nurberxo Thanks Nur!! I'll try the LORAC one...like I said I'm maybe a little darker than you but very similar skin tone..........I do hope you make that acne-related video :) Thanks for being such a doll about responding to messages!!!
ssblahblah 1 year ago
Is luminizer different than highlighter? I've been using Dior "Amber Diamond" or MAC's "Candlelight". I had a liquid one from Prescriptives a LONG time ago, and still have it; never got into the habit of using it or knew how really. Thanks for showing us!
delacotta360 1 year ago
@delacotta360 Nope, same thing, different forms =) Both are meant to highlight your face. Although luminizer can be mixed with foundation and I think it looks more like a "glow from within" in-person. For everyday, powder highlight is much quicker though!
