beautiful crap ... by no, the joke is played very well, who knows how much study is behind this short piece, but complicated. good ... really, surely you duccesso, if you agree ... I'm always speechless ...
@ScottishCaledonian i bet you that this scottish idiot rapes sheep and dresses in his mothers clothes (thats the same woman that he killed, because she didnt love him when he was a child)
The music was written for this instrument.. Bach wrote music around the capabilities of the musical instrument.. She played it perfectly on a device in which is was intended for.. Awesome.
I have a question, Is this piece played in 3 or in 6? Sometimes it sounds like it is a strong 3 and sometimes it feels like a sudden 6. Can anyone clear it up?
I hope she grows up to at the very least, continue playing. That or I just have an affinity for music.... I'd invest in a Muselar Virginal or Clavicytherium for her.. :-)
Ah, Thank you!! I listened to this in my music theory class and have been searching for it ever since! It's also cool to hear and see an actual harpsichord, not just a setting on a keyboard.
I know why this is my favourite musical instrument. It's so wonderful. And she really played that Menuet very well! I wish I could see one harpsichord in reality one day...
GOD, I love the aristocratic sounds of the harpsichord!
I really, really, really, really needed a break from having pop forced on my eardrums all day... It's maddening.
Speaking of aristocrats- this is and some other pieces are perfect since I'm writing a story about an transhumanistic/masochistic socialist princess/empress.
Well done! Great to see a young piano player playing one so well after only a short run through. Have always loved piano and the harpsichord even more.
You are correct! In fact, Anna studies piano only. She recorded the Bach after only a few minutes to familiarize herself with the harpsichord keyboard
I love the sound of a harpsichord so for the first time I look for it on you tube. So heres this kid on a harpsichord, well Im here why not listen? I was not dissappointed. Magnificent, bravo! Glad I checked it out.
Oh my god!!!!! She plays sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo well and sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo beautifully!!!!! And she's so young!!! I wish I could play the harpsichord but I can't find anyone to teach me..... :((( :((( :(((
Now this is a truly beautiful sight: a talented child playing a wonderful reproduction of an ancient instrument Of course, they are expensive—they have to be hand made. But it's a matter of priorities. A car also costs a lot. I built my own about 8 years ago. It would have cost 15,000 new, and I built it for about 6,000. However, it takes a long time. It took me a year: six months to build it, and six more to voice it....that's the hard part. But I just love it. It was worth it!!
Thank you so much for your kind words! Friends and fans of Anna invited her to record the Menuet on their harpsichord. Anna had never played one before and did a run through before recording it to get used to the action.
@EdmundStAustell I am inclined to buy a Kit for the english Bentside Spinett form Hubbard (hubharp.com) .. I still wonder how much perfect knowledge is necessary to make a good instrument from the kit...I am rather talented at crafts, but...
@LutzDerLurch That is the very kit I built. It turned out very well, but it was a lot of work. The instructions that come with it are exhaustive, almost too much so. Hubbard went for absolute authenticity on the finishing, including French polishing and some very intricate nail work tying down the soundboard. There are easier ways to do these things imho. If you want to discuss it at more length, I am at edmundstaustell@gmail.com
Well done Anna; you're a credit to your teacher as well as to your own dedication to hours, days, weeks and months of practice and study to achieve the stage you are now at. Add three years since the recording was made ... wow!! Greetings from NZ.
And people say youngsters shouldn't play Bach because of their immaturity! Really the key to playing Bach is to rid oneself of all influences and biases.
Harpsichords are usually made on order from a maker. You can Google harpsichord makers. or you can assemble one from a kit if you're handy with woodworking.
some one thought that this person was playing just the way it is written, without adding any notes, well that person must not have a good ear because i can hear part she has added , extra notes in the bass line in section b, and theres another which is more noticeable
@rob07960 Orchidbeautyful was refering to the style of the harpsichord, it doesnt matter where the maker is from, i played a french double similar to the one in the video , it was built buy Americans living in Canada. go figure

Wow thanks for sharing this nice Bach piece, very well done. I got to learn to play this on the piano like Gould does now... Hope you never stop playing the instrument, you are very good.
I liked this. Didn't notice that it was such a young woman, since i'd only spotted her arms when i'd looked at the clip, 'til near the end. I thought it was a very musical performance, meant in a nice way. Thankyou for sharing it with us.
What an amazing player. I would like to know something, How old was Anna when she first started playing the piano? And when did she first play the harpsichord? I am just in awe of her AMAZING playing.
i know people that build harpsichords, and something i learned that some might not know, a different between modern pianos and good harpsichords, with a piano it is assembled like a machine in a factory, screwed and glued, and very hard to maintain over the years because most parts in a piano are not interchangeable like a harpsichord, and the glue used in pianos, doesnt last forever and cannot be glued over again, plus pianos are so heavy and take longer to tune
