  • @TheGreeneyedblonde72 YEP....that's the name. He was such a total jerk of a guy to work with.

All I remember is he was always misserable, unhappy, and angry. That was many years ago though. Back in the late 90's

  • Damn I remember watching this as a kid...now I gotta find a place to download episodes so my kids can see this.

  • this is the first show my mom watched on nickelodeon

  • Alanis Morrisette was on this show lol

  • The last one is the only one I ever remember seeing when I watched on Nickelodeon.

alestair was always my favorite!!! though moose was killer too what happened to shows like this on nick?

  • Monty Python for Kids!

  • So Python-esq

  • I would like this twice it I had a second account

  • LES LYE'S EYES EAT YOUR SOUL!

  • I never realized how Terry Gilliam/Monty Python-esque the opening credits were.

  • @AntiYourFacePhD, agreed

  • I liked this show and forgot about it until a few days ago. Like some of the viewers here, I agree Nickelodeon isn't as good as it use to be. I know this show was for young kids but as a high schooler I still thought it was fun to watch.

  • I missed You Can't Do That On Television in my days because I was born in 2002, and You Can't Do That On Television started the series in 1979 and ended the series in 1990.

  • Is it just me or did this opening come into being from Terry Gilliam having an Acid Trip?

  • Wow...You Tube has everything...I didn't think I would ever see this again...lol

  • man did I watch the hell out of this show as a kid...

  • i miss good kids shows now the crap that the new generations are watching is so stupid

  • @mrsjacksonhardy I want to go and barg into Nick Studios and tell them to bring back all the old classics and get rid of all that junk they have today.

  • My mom wouldn't let me watch this. I used to sneak and watch when she wasn't home. Looking back it was like a jacked up American version of Monty Pythons Flying Circus

  • @Rendosian01 Canadian actually. But I agree.

  • The last two intros remind me of rockos modern life where ralph bighead made meet the fatheads, the fatheads intro is so similar to these.

  • The greatest kids show ever made, fuck hey dude, count duckula was fun, never watched, salute your shorts.

  • The second one is soo annoying

  • DAAAAAHHH............I heard that.......

  • OMFG.... This is the first time I've seen a clip of this show after 17 years.... that man's cracking face..... it's still fuckin scary as hell

  • Where did shows like this ever go? It seems like shows for kids these days are less likely to openly deal with more taboo issues or do pretty much anything that might offend the super easily offended. At the same time, many parents go out any buy their kids the most violent games available. What happened?

  • I loved the old school Nickelodeon. There was also Danger Mouse, Leo The Lion and Inspector Gadget.

  • @celicagts188

Don't forget Salute Your Shorts and Welcome Freshmen!

  • Hey kids, this show is where sliming started. Respect your elders.

  • This scared the shit out me when I was little!

  • We are not old we are just better!

  • this makes me feel so old! they dont make shows like this anymore! loved this one.

  • OMGosh, too funny. Going to try to find some of these vids to show MY kids now :P

  • Don't make show's like they used to, man we are getting old lol

  • This brings back good memories :D

  • this show used to rock...remember watching this on Australian ABC tv in early 90's...that was the golden age of kid's tv...

  • Oh man...used to watch this on Nick all the time when I was a kid, talk about memories! :-) Much better than any of the crap running on there nowadays, I'll tell you.

  • Does anyone else see how much these titles are rip off...er...homage...to Terry GIlliam and the gang at Monty Python?

  • wow this really brings back childhood memories

  • Fuck time flies by so fast..I still feel like a kid inside

  • This must be scary!!!!!!!

  • This show was the best. Oh man those were the days.

  • The music in the intro always use to freak me out as a kid. It still does.

  • i miss this show. looking back on the intro it felt kind of like monty python for kids

  • That short little blonde haired kid ended up working as a cook in a Restaruant in Victoria BC. I can't remember his name at the moment, but he had a really bad attitude and carried around head shots of him in his car LOL.

As a matter of fact I really didn't like working with the guy cause he was a total asshole and am pretty sure he was snorting COKE 10 times a day with the boss.

  • Only in the '80s could we get away with kids' shows that put kids in front of firing squads, locked them in prison, and pretty much let them do whatever they wanted. Those were the days!

  • @DLJBFan2008 Along with the music as well. Now all these shows and music from rock to hip hop and the rest of the tv shows sucks!!!

  • Back in the day man, back in the day!

  • Wow, I grew up with this. What was I thinking?

  • @amoeba97 Those Canadians are cooky folks. Alister was a riot!

  • oh- and anyone remember The Third Eye? Children of the Stones was so spooky!

  • This was a greeeat show....Rememeber the dungeon? I loved that Federale character...My favorite was the firing squad....Rrrready!...AIM...!!! Wait wait wait wait hold it!...I think I got Montezuma's Revenge!!!!!

  • Whatever Turns You On? Talk bout weird tv... lol

  • OMG I watched this show almost EVERY DAY on Nick! Born in the 70s and in elementary school through the 80s.

I never realized until now how much the opening themes resemble the opening of Monty Python's Flying Circus

  • @DiamondDragon419 Was just thinking the same thing in regards to Gilliam's "Flying Circus" bits...I suppose the majority of us who grew up with this show were as a result conditioned to graduate to "Monty Python" at some point.

  • This show was the s***! I can't believe I found this. Well nowa days, you can find anything. It makes be sad though. These were the good old days before reality tv. There's no classics like this :(

  • I can't believe that I remember this .. I would have never been able to guess the begining and once I saw it, I all of a sudden remembered it... great falshbacks!

  • stupid question time: if I were to light a match and place it at the bottom a small building with a clock, will it blast off? :P

  • i might not be from the 80's but this is really cool

  • The theme music was awesome...

  • this show and mr wizard were the best

  • In 1986, This show was followed by Danger Mouse and then Banana Man. Then the dreaded Nick at Night.

  • @morrey3 Ah to be a kid again. I feel so old.

  • i loved that show

  • only know the last one.....great show!!!!!!

  • whaddaya thinks IN the burgers!?

  • @bluto666 d'iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii heard that!

  • @bluto666 IIIIIIIIIIIIIII HEARD THAT!!!!!!!

  • I absolutely hope they release this show on DVD in America. It is like the kids' version of Monty Python.

  • Oh, the memories. :) I should see if these are on dvd.

  • wtf what the hell did i just watch cause its freaking me out

  • WOW! It's still fucking unfunny.

  • Wow!!! This takes me back! Any1 else notice the Monty Python theme on the intro?

  • Very Python-esque

  • Green slime shampoo. "Gets you clean, won't turn you green".

  • Popeye Gets E. Coli Poisoning will not be seen at this time, so that we may bring you another sickening experience..

  • This reminds me of Monty Python

  • I never really started making a point of watching YCDTOTV until early 1986 when I was in Grade 6 and where we had moved to in Sydney Forks didn't have cable at the time, which in translation, meant that viewing options were limited so it eventually grew on me and I loved it ever since.Mind you,it hadn't been on CTV since 1987,but YTV had the reruns in their rotation in the late 80's/early 90's.

  • this show needs to be on dvd

  • @shunt1974 well all but 3 episodes are lost

  • Is anyone else reminded of Terry Gilliam when watching these?

  • They did make a ycdtotv parody on family guy. The episode where Brian becomes chris's teacher. There is a short parody before a commercial cut.

  • @starlightsexy21 they did a parody of this on robot chicken as well. coming out of the lockers.

  • I am still waiting for Seth Macfarlane to parody YCDTOT by creating a Family Guy intro of this show. I mean, his Naked Gun opening was spot-on and hilarious, but the show's style is all about messing with the 80s...and I don't think I've EVER see YCDTOTV on Family Guy. To open with this rather than the show's usual intro would be the best, most kick-ass homage ever to this show.

  • They were all great, I just don't know what to pick!

(Gets slimed just for saying that!)

  • Hell yes! I grew up on this show lol. I forgot how fucking horrible the production and intro was LOL!

    Classic.

  • AHHH YESSSSS, the William Tell Overture never sounded any better that when I saw this show.

  • That intro use to scare me as a kid.

  • @schooltrashers Me too!!! Haha

  • @schooltrashers Now that I'm older, it creeps me out even more. lmao

  • @schooltrashers LMAO, you too? damn, I thought I was the only one.......at 5 years old, lmao

  • @Juggernaut81886

I guess it had the same effect on all kids. lol

  • @Juggernaut81886 @brokenseatbelt That makes another one of us! I was literally typing "for some reason, this show always disturbed me as a child" when I happened to glance at this comment!

  • Ree...Ree...AAAHHH! Any one remember THAT reaction from their parents?

  • when i was a kid I couldnt figure out why they changed the intro..

  • I TOOK A DUMP IN MY COMPUTER CHAIR.

  • the best ever..too bad you can't find it on anymore. Water gets you wet and saying I don't know gets you slimed. Funny when they finally get Ross the director to say those phrases when he had an idea they were tricking him.

  • These openings have been inspired from monty python.

  • wow! just like Monty Python.

  • like the relative of british sketch comedy show: monty python

  • I loved this show when I was 6, but the intro scared the crap out of me when the guys face cracked apart lol. I used to run out of the room for that part lol!

  • early 80's nick

  • I swear I remember almost all Nickelodeon and I don't remember this... I must have watched regualarly only after this. Cause I do remember watching Doug live...

  • OMG! I remember this show!

  • yo did that intro freak anyone else out when you were like 8 years old where at the end the main guy's face gets cracked open?

i loved the show and watched it all the time but my dad even remembers how much it used to scare the shit out of me.. it's funny to look back and watch and think about it now tho....

  • lol yeah it was. The kids being molded on the conveyor belt was kind of freaky too!

  • @nototouchthearth YES. good to know i wasn't alone.

  • Yes brings back a lot of memories.

  • ahh, thank you. i miss this show so baddd

  • i'll be happy if i never see or hear these again lol sorry

  • I didn't know about the other intros. All I know is the last one.

  • me too.

  • oh Barth! sorry.

  • oh this brings back memories. i know it's gross, but i used to like "Barf" back then, but you couldn't pay me to eat HIS hamburgers, lol!!!

  • I remember all of these intros. I miss old Nickelodeon.

  • I used to watch this all the time and then I forgot about it for a long time. It brings back old memories.

  • wow i never noticed the whole montey python thing going on in the intro when i was a kid.

  • very terry gilliam-esque

  • Moose: Hey Lisa, did you hear Les Lye died?

Lisa: Les Lye died? How tragic.

Moose: Yeah, they didnt have a normal funeral, they didnt even bury the body.

Lisa: Really, so what did they do with the body?

Moose: What do you think is in the burgers?

Sorry couldnt help myself. R.I.P. Les Lye

  • D'IIIIIIIIIII Heard That!!!

  • This brings me back!!!! Just remember watching this like it was yesterday..... man i'm old...

  • Hell yea this show was the shit. The only intro I remember is the last one though. Glad they switched back to the original song!

  • one of the greats from old Nickelodeon

  • @fullontwenty Yes! And one of the original olds!

  • I used to LOVE watching this show when I was young!

  • back then I didnt realize the intro is a total monty python ripoff.. that sucks.

  • I still look up when i say "I don't know!"

  • i watched reruns when i was small like around the 90's i forgot wich channel though

  • i remember watching this weird ass show when i was like 4 or 5

  • The last clip (1:38) is the opening sequence I remember growing up with.

Could someone do us a favour, and post a video montage of all the pre-empted shows that opens YCDTOTV?

Mr Rodgers Terrorizes his Neighbourhood will not be seen..

  • Really? They did the 'pre-empted shows' gag too? That was a major ripoff of early SNL then... (The first few seasons of SNL always opened with things like "Charlie's Angels Get The Syph will not be seen tonight...")

  • "Really? They did the 'pre-empted shows' gag too?"

Yes. Much of the show was inspired by SNL, and Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In. The opening animation sequence was inspired by Terry Gilliam's animation sequences from Monty Python's Flying Circus. So, you can understand why YCDTOTV is so iconic :)

  • What was so funny about this show? It doesn't look very good to me but it was on Nick for like over 10 years.

  • Dude! This show was my whole world back in the 80s. What was that one kid who for a few seasons, refused to take his leather Jacket off...Chris I think?

  • I don't know

  • *Dumps a bucket of slime on you.*

Just be glad you didn't say wa.....No! I ain't falling for that!

  • this show was the sh*t back in the day, I loved it

  • i used to love this show..ithink alanis morrisette used to get slimed on here..lol

  • This show was great wen I was a kid. I look at the intros as a grown up and it looks ike Monty Python intro.

  • If I haven't watched the Show i would though that this is monty phython.

  • Yeah, it does look like it was influenced by Monty Python.

  • I used to watch this all the time on Nickelodeon. Loved the show. It always made me laugh.

  • Didn't realize they ripped of the Monty Python Flying Circus intro, but it still takes me back. Loved this show when I was a kid!

  • Well it has that look, it was a TV show out of Canada in the 1970s and 1980s. I remember when they said " I don't know" you got slimed and when they said "water' they got water dumped o thier head. Funny show when I ws a kid in the 1980s.

  • IMDB Moose..I remember her name was Christine...

  • Christine McGlade is the one you're referring to.
