@huddersfieldhd1 Surprisingly, when this film was made, the streets in most towns weren't quite as congested with cars as they are today. So, to tell children to find a space away from parked cars was a sensible option. Of course, nowadays, finding a space between parked cars is nigh-on impossible. But then, how many kids walk down streets on their own now, never mind cross roads, nowadays? They practically get taken everywhere by car. The Green Cross Code seems somewhat redundant, now.

Sorry mate but it is not a Mk 4 but a 5 as UpTheShakers said note the 3 bar grill, bumper corner caps, front indicators that go round onto the wing, smooth chrome door handles higher roof line and black plastic door mirrors built in by the window instead of smaller chromed metal door mirrors as on the Mk4.
