if you seriously need to know what chief is doing in halo reach the reason is because he is still in the pillar of autum from the legendary ending of halo 3 and you can also get to see him on the level the package by using the giant turret thing to destroy the corvet after that it will show a vid asoon as the vid shows inside of the ship you press and hold the right trigger looking at cheifs pod were you can see him but he does have his mask on very unfortunatly
