This organ does seem to have gone a bit too far out of tune. French instruments seem to thrive on apparent inconsistenies though. I have long felt that the eclat, the almost tangible clarity of French choruses, gets much of its 'cleanness' from the blending of many slight inconsistencies, in a similar way to the blending of many stringed instruments in the single colourful note of melody from an orchestra.
