most helpful thing for remembering mitosis or meiosis is pmat- but using it for two different things. pmat = prophase metaphase anaphase telophase but... pmat = present (as in chromosomes are present) middle (as in chromosomes are lined up in the middle) apart (as in chromosomes being pulled apart) and The end (as in telophase is the end of it).
