  • The Statue of Liberty is a graven image ~

Exodus 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

  • OUVREZ VOTRE ESPRIT OURVEZ VOS YEUX !!!

  • Illuminati 666 franc-maçon ORDO AB CHAO l'ordre à partir du désordre !!

  • Catrina or hurricane could rip the statue?

  • one day i will see this statue with my eyes i promised my self 8 years ago wen i was 8 and im promising my self now

  • And to think, I went all the way up to the crown with my class back in 1987...

  • And shes actually in New Jersey, not New York.

  • @PeanyTech Liberty Island is indeed on the NJ side of the Hudson, you're right about that, but Liberty Island is considered NYC territory. It's all confusing, stupid court orders and such make things confusing.

  • how did they do the animation? im doing a powerpoint on the statue of liberty and would like to make the animations like that

  • I wonder if the statue gets tired of holding a torch.

  • 12And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made. 13And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.

  • Oceania is a geographic region. Australia is a continent because it is of tectonic origin. Google It.

  • i cheked in wikipedia and there were some infos that the statue of liberty is 151 feet not 305 'T know maybe i'M wrong

  • @kingzxcvbnm1 And as you may no the Colossus of Rhodes had no internal skeleton like the Satatue of Liberty and was brought down by an earthquake less than a century after its completion. Gustav Eiffel must have known this and designed liberty's skeleton so she would stand much longer.

  • change Australia to oceania. Australia is a country not a continent. Oceanian is a continent that includes Australia.

  • @CoreyStudios2000 exactly, ignorants :(

  • @CoreyStudios2000 LOL, geography is really not your thing, ha? bahahahahaa

  • @faithF8 actually, i think oceania is a continent because if they said australia instead of oceania, then people might think that oceania is owned by australia. Oceania is like australia, new zealand, fiji, indonesia, and papua new Guinea. my opinion.

  • @CoreyStudios2000

some quick GEO101 : for something to be a continent, it has to be a huge landmass. Oceania considers islands, it is a REGION in the Pacific. Australia is a CONTINENT (and a country ofc). You can consider Australia as a part of that region, but you *cannot* consider Oceania as a continent. I hope that makes things clearer ;)

  • 2 pennies...that would make me nervous at 22 storys high....

  • if it was made of stone it wouldn't be green. and btw stone can by eroded over the years coper can't :P

  • there is love, there is liberty.

  • I think we should replace the iron frame with monel.

  • wow... great breakdown of the cool 'behind the scenes' facts of the statue of liberty!

  • that was awesome!

  • I never knew the torch actually lit up...

  • @SavageArms357 Yup, the torch on the statue now is actually the 2nd torch it replaced the first one in 1986, 100 years after the completion of the statue. The original torch is on display on the island. So I assume in 2086 the torch may be replaced again. And yes the Statue of Liberty was constructed 110 years after the birth of the United States in1886 so 2086 will also be the 310th birthday of the U.S.

  • I think she looks a lot better in green anyway, shows history!

  • can copper be restored?

  • yea, but since it is right next to the water, it would probably only take a month for it to turn green again.

  • @failtolawl idiot it took 25 years for it to turn green.

  • @lennex88 yea, when it was pure copper, do some damn research before you start calling names. Now, if they refurbish it, only the edge of the statue will be the copper color, and the inside of the crust will still be green. So less copper=less time to turn oxidize.

  • @Blindianboy yea ive like put a penny in lemmo jusic for like a day u could leave it in theyre longer it depens how old the copper is

  • @Blindianboy what turns copper green is something called patina which essentially eats away at the copper, however, after a certain amount is eaten through it stops. To reveal the original color of copper underneath, the layer of patina has to be taken off which removes the copper itself and allows allows only for more patina to develop on the surface. This would process would eventually render the statue just a plinth because there would be no copper left after this cycle was repeated.

  • @punkrocksknot

    oh. thanks!

  • Damn, she looks a lot prettier before the copper ages. haha

  • @doohuh kinda makes me wonder why copper instead of gold....

  • @kevynspeed i think it would be cool made out of gold too, but I think people would be chipping away at it and taking some gold for themselves

  • @kazekitty It would best made of limestone, that glittering white shine? Why do you think the Egyptians encased all their monuments is it lol.

  • @lgvereor thats true, the Statue of Liberty would be beautiful if it was made of limestone. In elementary school i thought it was made of stone instead of copper >.>

  • @kazekitty Good thing her copper is green today, otherwise people would be stealing her copper too.

  • Very nice video editing
