There was no Spitfire or Boomerang because Temora didn't want to send their aircraft to a dusty airport. They also figure, why should they send their aircraft to another place when they want people to come to their museum. HARS didn't send a Catalina because the airshow organisers didn't request for it to be displayed (i talked to a HARS pilot inside the Connie).
Weather was worse this year, most of the flying displays were the same. As far as military aircraft, this year had the B-1B but no F-15 display (just static thanks to the Formula 1 date changes)
You can also thank the FIA for that changing Rd1 of the Melbourne GP, they stole the Avalon Airshow weekend which was perfect weather which also took away some military plane flying displays.
I finally took the plunge and went this year-what a rip off joke!$10 parking 2klms from the gate in a muddy paddock then $50 entry and no program?nothing, not even a place to sit in the muddy paddock, people were rolling over wheelie bins to sit on!.Queus for food were ridiculous because there weren't enough vendors and as always overpriced.
Many aircraft didn't fly or even show up!.The weather was attrocious....NEVER AGAIN.
Amberley airshow walked all over this nightmare RIPOFF!!!
Best show by far?. No it wasnt. I came frm canberra on friday staying at the campsite. WET WET then WET AND WINDY. Where were all the aircraft?. Orion,F-15,seahawk,seaking,roulettes,tiger, the list goes on and on. I really think we should do better as it is The International Airshow, Not the Domestic Airshow!. But overall it was a great weekend.
One of the Roulettes was injured so that rules the team out. The F-15 display pilot was in LAS at operation Red Flag... They always bring two if they're going to display one....
Weather was great friday, wet saturday, sunday windy but not to bad! Great Airshow with the new Boeing A380 Quantas,C5 Galaxy,C17,Quantas(1950's) Connie,FA 18 super hornet!,F 35 Series 2 Lightning Raptor!, Best Show by far! Nice Video!!!!!
Was actually one of the worst shows overall, weather was terrible on the public days (friday afternoon/night had very low cloud and visibility was a joke) There was a storm that actually passed a few km's south of the airport which poored down. The change of Melbourne GP dates messed things up, there would of been more US planes on display. BTW there has never been a real F-35 on display at avalon (static or flying) what you saw at Avalon is a model.
And the Raptor is the F-22 which has never been to Australia, though there was a possibly of the F-22 at this years show if it wasn't for the stupid Formula 1 date changes like I said above.

it was good but the weather was total shit. The F/A 18 super hornet was mad, and this was the last year they were showing the F1-11

No one showed up with a Spitfire as well which pissed me off... At least there was the P-51D Mustang I suppose...

I have been to airshows all over the world and this was by far the worst, most overhyped dissapointment of a rip off I have ever been to.
No wonder they didn't release the flying program in advance-no one would of shown up!.
International airshow? What a total DISGRACE and embarrassment .WORST EVER experience in over 30 airshows worldwide.
