hi i have powercolor 4870 1gig if i want to flash bios do i need to use specific bios or can i acquire generic 4870 bios file...? i heard you can brick your card easily but i would like to voltmod my 4870
New prob: bios flash was fully succesful. I went to 1.32v (to start) but the problem I have now is that I cant us any of my overclocking utilities to overclock, rivatuner doesnt have the option anymore, and I cant OC in CCC. I switched back to my original BIOS and now its working fine. Any way around this?
I was not aware rivatuner could adjust any voltage properties. But no, I didnt use it to do that. I only use rivatuner to adjust core/memory clock and the fan speed.
One prob though, I have a 4870 and its voltage is 1.263 (thats already the max in radeon bios editor D: ) how do I get a higher voltage? ive heard you can have a 'safe' voltage of up to 1.4, and if I were to use 1.4 (or 1.35'ish) would I have to change it for every column?
Shit! nice. Ive been wanting something like this. I have a 4870 with a non-reference cooler and I get great temps but I can only get a max of 825 mhz, after that I get artifacts. (thanks for the 'tutorial') I was wondering how to edit the info. thanks :D
