Lol this is way easier to prove using a trigonometric circle (and with the circle you can also calculate the sin, coc, tan and cotan of angles in a random triangle)
I'm in Germany right now and getting ready to take the ACT in April. THANK YOU for making this. Reviewing alone for this thing isn't so scary when you have such wonderful guides to follow. Vielen Dank :D
in your video you had text pop up saying "any right triangle", well, using the law of cosine's you dont need a right triangle as you know C^2=A^2-2AB(cos(c))+B^2 where A, B, and C are sides of the triangle and c is the angle opposite of the side C
thank god for people like this guy, for posting videos like this, to help people like me out with trig. I'm pretty good at math but have a hard time with trig at times.
Who is awesome? YOU are AWESOME! I am taking trig class now and failing it, this is my second time taking this class in college. I cannot pass any of the test. I review you videos over and they seem to help. I wish I can put you in my pocket and take you with me everywhere. lol Thank you for explaining the background and concepts. Are u single?lol
iv just started doing this in school and i was so lost until now! got any videos on simultaneous equations, algebra or calculus?? im so bad at maths as you can tell!
Wow what a flame war, ironic that its posted on a math video huh. Most of the comments dont even make sense, in english anyways. All I really wanted to say is that everyone knows the american educational system is fucked, so just let us learn instead of typing out insluts about our schools ,online and in broken english. It dosnt make you and your country look more beautiful, likewise to any americans misplacing their patriotism again, online and in broken english :(
hold on here, who said this video was for just high school students? ... I started learning this stuff in 5th grade, (accellerated math classes) America doesn't have one glove fits all education system you cunt.
O.o, ytsuge, knowing how to apply formulas and UNDERSTANDING the damn concepts behind them are two different things.
I can apply all these stuff with shocking accuracy, but when i look at them... if i don't see circles, triangles, a 3 dimensional space, time relations to it, etc, different colours... you know what? i will immediately say... I don't understand shit about it. Fortunately, i do, for a little bit at least, going into complex numbers after that isn't so difficult to UNDERSTAND

I live in Romania. Here, 13 year-old 7th grade children know these things. In highschool I learned the basics of Einstein's Special Relativity and Lorentz Transformations! Is your school system so "dumb" that you need Youtube to learn trigonometry?

You Romanians know how to type!?!? Wow! Hey let me know when Romania harbors a company like Microsoft,Apple,GE,GM,Raytheon,Cisco,etc....Oh wait! Your culture is inferior and so are your genetics.
im pretty sure your for superior school system made you perfect the romanian deadlift in preschool right. Apparently your school system didnt teach you how appreciate even the simplest fundamentals such as "7th Grade Trig". So go fuck your goat.
In fact in a recent survey American literacy and math skills placed it way down the bottom of the league table with europe and asia way ahead, America compares to places like Mexico, Urguay and 3rd world states, so maybe go stuff another Mc Donalds in your head (there's room) instead of making such ignorant racist comments.
Err... I live in Singapore, we top the damn scores for the GCE level exams... the basics of Special Relativity can be learned by even a 5 year old who has access to wikipedia nowadays, do they understand what it means? That you can travel in a maximum alloted magnitude in a fixed amount of time? or a fixed amount of time in an alloted magnitude of motion? The equations and how to use it? how to apply it? did you know that this theory in basic is easy to apply, but difficult to understand?
Are school system is a corporate system. Students are taught math and English in a business sense. Those students who choose to go further go into a special program that the school offers, and the students who decide to go even further than that learn things on their own.
The people here just needed a little help with math, that's all. Not everyone is good at math, and you should understand that.
can you prove this using a unit circle? anyone link me with it if so?

awesome!!! thank you very much. i just kinda took this for granted before this video.

...another profound implication is that
both (sin^2)x and (cos^2)x must each
be no more than 1; note that the
values for real x used in sin x and cos x
are never more than 1; only their
ratio sinx x/cos x (i.e. tan x) may exceed 1.
