I wanted to show that my ‘naughty children die’ theme follows in the very best of children’s story-telling traditions. What better way than to go back to the Brothers Grimm, whose re-tellings of much older folk tales certainly don’t pull any punches.
The thumbnail is the Rani who also had a knack for turning people into wood! Poor Luke 'twas turned into a tree!
