Especially in this economy you NEED to be fit physically, mentally, emotionally to compete and survive. It's no longer an option to be in shape, you have to adapt or die.

Physical Fitness is a huge part of being a professional racer. Being physically exhausted can work tricks on your mind and if your mind isn't sharp, your driving will suffer. The whole point of the triathlon was to simulate physical exhaustion after a long day at the track, then having to drive laps. Instead of having them drive for 6 hours and THEN do laps, they had the running/bicycle thing going on. Glenn should have made it through. Fatty didn't even qualify to drive the damn 370Z
Yes, physical fitness is important for a race driver but I think all the running and cycling was a bit much. It shouldn't really influence the selection process so much. The karting was a great idea. Overall, great show though.
43:50 you can tell they shot the judge deliberation after the fact.....they talk about Greg on the bubble but his card is not on the table, and then when Tommy starts talking about Jason the cards suddenly disappear and then they come back.
I really feel sorry for Glenn. I thought he would be at the top 5. Being also from South Florida, I was rooting from him. Good luck. Atleast you had the experience. I would kill for it.
This american version of GT academy is much more forgiving. When i watched the GT academy 2008 with the european kids the judges were much more harsh
