I think the coil did finally cook and shorted itself thus reducing the overall impedance of the speaker..I believe the amp was going into protect mode at the end of the video because of the over clipping caused by the short within the speaker...

But no, it wasn't clipping. I was running it off of a junked (worn out) Razor scooter battery. (12V 7aH). To give you an idea of how large a CAR battery is, think of 100aH or so.

So it is very pssible,that your amp started clipping and the speaker died because of clipping.Also,if it would be a 200W amp,then the power draw would be almost 400W,so the amp would draw about 28,5A at 14V or so.Not something for long use off a 7Ah battery as the voltage drop would severely lower the amps output power.

@briggsandclones Well stalling or not,its almost always,that the speaker dies not because of overpower,but due to clipping of the amplifier.So if by stalling you mean clipping,then yes.If it really would have been a 200W amp,then the speaker would have lasted much longer and been much louder,before it would have blown up.
