There is nothing illegal about filming in public...look up the law on public domain! For example you can film people on the street, and cars, and buses, and helicopters, and buildings, and all sorts of crap with out ever having to get permission. Your school has ass-clowns. NOT illegal in emergency operations. For training, yes. Those who can't do....teach. The only thing shocking was the shitty music.
What was the specific problem you think your school had with you taking this video? Any guesses what they did not approve of? Why they did not just ignore it and let you be? I cant see anything here a school would want to stop from being seen.. unless they just thought you maybe should not have filmed the cop? IDK

It looks like it was illegal because there is a policeman in the vid, apparently in the Land of the Free, if you point a camera at a law enforcement official they will arrest you. Apparently its because they dont like being filmed parked in front of fire hydrents eating donughts, while there is an acutal fire happening across the street. Or maybe they just dont like being filmed tazing the shit out of people, that seems to be a favorate of theirs too.
maybe it was illegal because you filmed the buttom of a helicopter which could be pretty graphic for some small helicopters or even baby-copters if they watch you're video lol

Yes persons in power, especially school officials, are prone to making up rules and laws. I have had many a run in with school officials and I have shamed all of them with my abilities to read their school manuals.
As long as there is no "blood and guts" footage, I am sure that you are safe to upload videos such as this. Those "officials" at your school sound like they are smoking the PC (politically correct) pipe.
He was threatening me about not being able to graduate, but then he checked the school rules and it voided the laws he said I was violating.
So he handed me back the tape....I was inches away from calling fox news and ksltv to tell this silly story, and wishing they blow the story even more out of proportion.
