the movtivation part can be overlooked. Now as for Gohan's emotions being out of control that is not entirely true. Hybrid Saiyans are much more in tune with their emotions which makes them better fighters as they are able to think more clearly in combat whereas depending on the full-blooded saiyans they may be very hot-headed and can't think clearly in the middle of a fight. Plus Hybrid Saiyans have much more potential for abilities than a full-blooded Saiyan

Goku had no more energy, and somebody told him to Instant Transmission to Goku to give him his energy back.
