Countries should import only those goods which are very essential for survival..not all goods..this not only will help saving fuels but also reduce pollution and green house effect,,it will also boost local employment.
its not just one term, and its not just the american, it all over the world, and with a lot more terms, people just create their own definitions for it, that what really is.
Capitalism is the wage slavery of immense humanity in a politically corrupt, manipulated MARKET SYSTEM OF ARTIFICIAL SCARCITY ,a tyrannical, destructive system to perpetuate poverty and exploitation in the interest of the ruling class. Capitalism from its mercantile plundering and enslavement of African natives to its Millitaristic rise of European Powers to World wars and Financial serfdom of the world has been a DISASTEROUS imposition .
If you want to be successful in America, you better be really smart , have a graduate degree and come from a family with high socioeconomic status. But it doesn't matter, the limits to growth are already breached, and by 2030 the perfect storm of overshoot scenarios are coming together.
Globalization will increase competition for resources among countries. As developing countries produce goods and and their people work service jobs for less money, multinational corporations will profit by putting Americans out of work. You are about to see the downfall of America's standard of living, at the same time developing countries increase standard of living.
Notice how they did not mention the tremendous income inequality resulting from globalization. Also 1/2 China and 80% of India live on less than 5$ a day. they also forgot to mention that China is now faced with mass evictions, an incalculable dustbowl in the north, empty mega cities, mass migrations of an unprecedented scale, disappearing markets, thousands of annual agrarian revolts, economic trouble and industrial uprisings. (ALL FACTS)
Hey-This video was well put together, and the themes of connectivity&economic challenge is a good start. However I think the negative responses in the comment box R understandable. Globalization is related to a lot of poverty, racism, exclusion, slavery, war,& environmental destruction. The perspectives given in your presentation are commonly known as that of a turned blind eye. What's important for people to understand is how they are tacitly connected to oppression, violence, &blindness
Globalization is the rationalization and continuation of western cultures manifest destiny through mostly socioeconomic and sometimes militaristic warfare. An ideology of imperialistic expansion and domination defended as necessary and benevolent.
so, mostly you are feeling powerless, right? So you want to make students look ignorant because they don't see the world through the lenses you are wearing.
doing business across country/state lines is fine. Individualism is increased in this way. When it comes to governments collectizing and dominating markets for the "betterment of society, and people," then what they are ultimately doing, is destroying the freedom of the individual to be able to operate in their own way, that the individual see's fit. Individuals organizing to regulate things is fine. When the government regulates, they tyrannically oppress against personal pursuits.

Globalization- Is putting American workers out of a job. The workers in America need to end it now.
When these kids get out of school and can not find a job- they will have a much better understanding of globalization.
