thank you KaraokeLiederPianist, I just tried to sing this piece accompanied by you and I think your tempo is quite nice. And yes, in the end the singer has to work hard to keep up the speedy tempo but the spinning wheel is not slowing down at all but it needn't too. You play beautifully and this is a nice opportunity to rehearse this song without a "live"pianist available!

Thanks for your comments everyone. I know some of you think the accel is too fast to sing at the end; however, this is the genuine tempo I have leart from the soprano with whom I have most performed this song. It won't work for you if you have very wide vibrato though. Incidentally I think the spinning wheel is definitely metaphorical at that point; if you've known true despair then you know what I mean.

Schubert has written -Nicht so geschwind and the spinning weel has it´s limits ,though you seem to have non. Looking forward to more from you.

Brava it;s very helpfull but if you just went a bit slower in the end it would be better. Its not cantabile at the tempo you play in the end. It's supposed to be agitated but it's a little to much! You play wonderfully by the way!
