It depends which kind of house music you prefer. The old soulful/ deep house which you're probably referring to was more popular in the early 90's after the music came over from the U.S. Nowadays it's kind of given way to the newer variations of house music i.e. electro, progressive, fidget house etc. I prefer this stuff myself. Funky house can be pretty shit though seeing as its mostly the generic commercial stuff...
