this documentary is a waste of time. director or whoever produced it is STUPID. wasted his time and movie and made a fool of himself. just like any other idiot documentary white boy, no wisdom or depth or insight or developing story or theme. it was actually pretty bad, like a circus show documentary. only thing is that it made lee seem like an ordinary dude who is famous. just saw it today in sacramento and boring as hell and i am a extreme hardcore bruce lee fan.
I sure hope this documentary is better than Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story. That movie took way too many liberties on the actual events. For instance, Bruce Lee hurt his back from lifting weights and not from a kung-fu master attacking him with a flying side kick.
@PrettyBoyOfDuluth Dragon was a Biopic not a documentary. I agree they took too many liberties with that movie. But I loved it. Dragon should really be considered to be inspired by a true story. I recommend it but it wasn't Bruce Lee's life. I have it on DVD and the director admits taking alot of liberties to make it into a decent action flick. It's Hollywood afterall. What they tried to do was dramatize Bruce's life and add a little mysticism. They did that well.
I CANT WAIT FOR THIS, i look up to this guy and the things he has accomplished in life, once in a life time that you will come across such a man. Much respects to Bruce, RIP
Bruce lee was a pro wrestiler who everyone thout was real. He would get killed by Jon jones, Anderson silva, George st pierre, JDS ext. he's just an acter
@ImNotCow1 You're insane and should do some research before you make statements like this. Bruce Lee actually did have full contact fights AND taught in martial arts for a long time. In fact, he was told to stop teaching the art to people who were not asian to keep the secrets of martial arts in their own culture and he had to fight their top fighter to defend his right to teach anyone he chose (and won) Acting only came as a result of his impressive combat skills and rose him to fame
The majority of these celebrities have NO business talking about Bruce Lee or being in a documentary. I guarantee you all they think about is "Oh yeah, Bruce Lee can kick some ass." They don't realize what Bruce Lee REALLY did for the art and how he brought the Martial Arts world together. How DARE they compare him to Kobe and Jay-Z! Seriously?! WTF! Bruce Lee transcends them!
@Madsweeps Jon Jones is fine, but it'd be nice to have other, more seasoned athletes as well. Let alone people who came up or performed during Lee's era.
But dana white? He's a fucking moron. He's a white Don King. 90% of the stuff out of his mouth is bullshit... most recently comparing people against SOPA/PIPA to 9/11 terrorists. So, does Dana's opinion count? NO!
Bruce lee is a legend, but why another documentary,i have seen them all,why is this going to be different, its not, the only difference is,its going to have a modern twist of celebrities input,i worship this man,he is one of my childhood heroes, but i think this is just another money making ploy
For the new generation. You may have seen many Bruce Lee documentaries yourself, but this goes out to the younger generation as well as his fans across the world. It allows a 10 year old who may never have heard of him, seek more information on the man and you never know, as that kid grows, they may be encouraged to read into his philosophy, which is an extremely positive and powerful message to share with the young. ;}
This trailer isn't very impressive? The interviews don't seem insightful Comparing Lee to Jay-Z, Kobe, Bob Dylan, etc? All right, sure, whatever. Ed O'Neill and Mickey Rourke are fans? Uh, all right, cool. Taboo from Black Eyed Peas? Gross. Lots of glib talking-head praise. I'm only truly interested in what Gina Carano has to say. They don't even seem to be pretending they have anything new to offer in terms of footage or biography. Meh.
@GunslingerXYZ The guy who played Al in Married with kids is either a black belt in BJJ from what I've heard. He seemed genuine, but I do agree with what you're saying.
Ayo..but at least they had UFC fighters giving respect to Bruce, who was basically the first MMA fighter. wait was that Cung Le? :O cool. anyways, BRUCE LEE FTW
@qwklzx Ddue, I'm not chinese and I have bit of problem withthat comment as well. I think what she meant was that he destroyed that negative stereotype of Chinese men being docile and unmasculine.
Yeah... lets have the the Black Eyed Peas and other current "celebrities" talk about Bruce Lee instead of experts, or people who actually knew or trained with him.
There's already good documentaries and books about him... this is just capitalizing on modern celebrities and their worthless opinions.
@MrSteak you put it perfectly...when someone puts Jay Z in the same category as Ali, Jordan and Bruce Lee...that fucks up any credibilty of their opinion...!!!!
@MrSteak Absolutely correct. Now, is it good or bad strategy? One of the goal here is to attract the regular people so they will be aware of Bruce Lee and what he's all about. The celebrities have opinions just like we do.
@MrSteak Actually combing the comments, you should know this is a legitimate documentary with legitimate people who knew him. In addition, you may see celebrities but they privately in their personal lives are martial artists--Basketball sensation Kobe Bryant studied under my father in-law Dan Inosanto, singer Taboo studied JKD, actor Ed O' Neil is a in Gracie Jujitsu, etc.
Whoa stop there...who is that derp who compared to Bruce Lee to JayZ at 0:49, was going to watch this movie, until that moment. Most stupid comment of 2012.
extremely inspirational and breathtaking. Words cant describe how much I appreciated every aspect.
