Ross and Wilson was in Atlanta for a while and then they went to WABC in New York and were on the air the morning that WABC switched from music to talk. love the vid bill! i would've been laughing my butt off as well!

All the radio stations I've ever listened to start with K. I've heard it's an east-west thing and that the Mississippi River is the dividing line. Is that true?

You're exactly right! In the early 1900's (1912 I think) each country was given radio prefixes. Canada got C, Mexico got X and USA got W and K. It wasn't divided by the Mississippi until about 1932 which is why KDKA in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, KYW in Philadelphia are the exceptions.

Cool! Brian Wilson (of Ross and Wilson fame) is a major mentor of mine. I even do voice work for his station. There was a reunion of the old Z93 crew at the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame last October. This year I think it's QXI.

Ahhh I feel left out as I only started radio in 93.

I can relate the the "frontal system" though having a big studio window at a Florida station working nights back in the day and all the sales girls would stop in to use the restroom on their bar route because the bar restrooms were ...well, bar restrooms...

They would always try to throw me with that trick but I never missed a step.

L O N G story short...my dad's office was in the same building with a local radio station. On Saturdays I'd go to the office with him and one day I dropped down five floors and asked if I could look around. I was 13 then. I had already been on radio once when I was 12. From that day I went almost ever Saturday. And that became my first job when I was 15. One of my mentors who worked there was Joel Godard who until recently was the announcer for Conan O'Brien in New York..

LOL! I got screwed by YouTube today. They SAID they were going to change everyone over to the new channel design on July 15. So I had a video ready to go for that.

So, I started on this video at 4AM. Yup. My part was taped at 4AM this morning. LOL (I did used to do mornings so don't feel sorry for me)
