I live in Ventura, Ca and found out yesterday that I have VF. Cat Scan revealed a golf ball size mass in my lung. On Flucanozole. Also doing Natren Healthy Trinity, a probiotic, $59 for 30 at Lassens, "the good bacterias". One day at a time.
I have disseminated VF. I can't take any drugs due to my liver. the only way I'm keeping it from killing me is by taking natural antifungal pills (i.e. allicin, pharma. grade garlic extract, $20/bottle)& staying on strict diet control. no starch, carbs (well, extremely low-carb organic vegs only), & only lean proteins because my digestion is bad & I can't handle fats. VF can really ruin your digestion, & your life. avoiding foods with naturally high potential for mold is also very important.

My mother has Valley Fever, so I know a lot about it and what this lady is saying absolutely rings true. My mother has suffered greatly from this disease, so I have some appreciation of what this lady is going through. It's nothing akin to self-victimization.

Just because you want to eat and drink while your in the hospital, doesnt mean the doctors orders say you can! If you have a test or procedure to go to sometimes you can not eat or drink until you finish that procedure. Ive met patients who havent ate or had anything to drink for like a months time!
I contracted this disease 8 years ago in Sedona, Arizona while participating in an off-road Jeep tour. I live in Massachusetts, so it took forever for the doctor's to diagnose the illness. The lung x-ray showed spots on my lungs and after further testing the medical team concluded I had Valley Fever. The diseased had progressed to the point where it was affecting my spine and breathing was painful and difficult. If you go on a jeep tour, wear a mask!
I was just diagnosed with valley fever and the only way we found out was when i broke out into a rash all over my body. it's going on 3 weeks with this rash and i just moved to a state where they have no clue what valley fever is. I'm going on 1 hr. of sleep because the itching is so bad and nopthing is helping. They put me on fluconazole- 400mg. and the rash is getting worse by the day. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do for the itch? And does anyone else have or had a rash ? HELP!
i have valley fever also my temp. was 107 and i had a mass in my chest i lost over 50 pounds and i know how you feel. my mouth was dry and i was dehydrated and i had 3 needles stuck in my back to get to my lungs. im still on pills fluconazole omg it was so terrible i know how you feel. they abused my vains so bad i had to take iron pills and magnesium pills i hope you get better- Trey
