  • hey richard nice video.... nick sure had the heart and desire to go racing. wasnt always about the win but winning sure was fun. i see nick in town often and we always talk racin.

  • @camexx1 That was a lot of fun and he was a heck of a driver. After we got Randy Creamer's old car and Sony got it runnin' right for us, we just had crazy good fun with it. Email me and tell me who you are. I probably know you but don't know your youtube name..

  • @rpeek i was owner & builder of the 68 driven by todd cummings also the 00 driven by bernie dinsmore . i also helped some other guys along the way .thanks to you camden exxon got alot of publicity while you were at the track . steve

  • @camexx1 Yes Steve. I know you now. My wife's daughter was having some work done recently and I asked where, and she said at your place. I told her I knew you and you are good people. Good to hear from you again. Bernie was awesome wasn't he, back in the day.. hahaha. Boy we had some fun.. Good to hear from you..

  • @rpeek i wonder where all those cars are now? and the drivers ? good to hear from you too.makes you want to build a car and go racin.

  • @camexx1 Sony Coolie had Nick's (Randy's) old race car in his yard for a while, but it's gone now. I haven't seen Bernie in ages. They're still racin' goin' on up at Unity but I haven't been in years. I took all the money I used to spend on race cars and bought a house and built a hot rod.. hahahaha..

  • @rpeek good for you ! have fun with the hot rod. once a car guy always a car guy right?

  • @camexx1 Yea, that race car was mostly to keep Nicky out of trouble. hahaha. We always knew where he was on a Saturday night.. haha.

  • @rpeek sounds good to me .

  • Yes, Did you know he runs the track now?

  • @gofastturnleft91 Yes, I work with Penny and she told me about that. I'm really glad Unity is still goin'..

  • The 97 red, white, and blue car was driven by my father, George Fernald Jr.

  • @gofastturnleft91 Sure! I remember George..

  • @rpeek Did you know he now runs Unity?

  • as much as I hate to admit it that car that spun Nick Was Me hehee sorry Nick

  • i work at unity now ... umm this track is a great track i have tos of friends .. umm this is thge Wildcat Class right ? i think it is

  • They were called Limited Sportsman in their day. Love Unity.. What a great old track...

  • hmm i was born in 1993 ,,, so yea ... but yea this is a great track they race friday night but but not the limited Sportsman are called wildcats ... i work on a few race cars myself

  • That is cool! You jus can't beat a good dirt track race! My son races a micro sprint, he is driving for one of the big money teams this year! I try, but just don't have $1000per corner to race one of these cars anymore. But I'm still a motor head at heart...

  • Yep. Once a motor head, always a motor head..

  • yeah, coincidence, i have, had, 2 uncles that raced in the 50's at and around wichita falls texas and into oklahoma, around holice i think, [spelling not sure of]. those were the days my friends.

  • Awesome work!!

  • Thanks..

  • Awesome video..... how did you get that footage to video???? Great job!

  • Stuck the VCR tape in the tv, setup my digital camera and shot it right off the screen..

  • Cool. Now that you mention it, I noticed a glare spot, but until then I hadn't.

  • 80 sedans cool to race and build

  • Sure were!

  • my time was 30+ years ago, what memories!!!

55 & 57 chevys and fords yee ha!!

  • My uncle raced down in Georgia, at the Peach Bowl in the 50's. Great tradition to have in the family..

  • My brother used to run a dirt track car. Got pictures somewhere. Think I might need to do a video, too.

  • Yea, should. Those dirt track racers were wicked fun..

  • He had to mothball the race car operation...got laid off...I'm rooting for him to find the next gig and get back into it. My dad was a construction worker and to go out with my brother and be part of the pit crew kept him going for years. He loved being out with all the machinery and noise.

  • Racing's expensive. You can pay for a house for what it costs to race. We lived in a trailer, couldn't afford a garage, worked in the mud and snow all year long, but never missed a race. Ah, those were the days....

  • Yeah, racing's too rich for my blood. My brother had a great time with it though. Only got to see him do it a couple of times. Never lived close enough to the old neighborhood to drop in all the time.
