Haha, no. First of all, the number one reason people don't accept God as perfect and just is because they don't believe that a god exists. Another reason is because the bible illustrates how imperfect and unjust the character of God is even according to its own believers. Even if their parents were child killers, why kill all the innocent kids. I thought they were trying to stop sacrifice, not speed it up.
Also, many tradition have young couples jumping through a fire. Its an ancient fertility rite. How it is certain that is not the meaning? Aside from bible verses, that is.

If you put this or other such texts in context - what will it do? Saying that the Canaanites sacrificaed their children - does that warrant for killing canaanites children? it was 42 boys...and it never says the age, just that they were not of adult age...they could have been 16 for all we know...what we do know is they told elisha to drop dead, and Elisha was the Profet of God, who had just head the kids town, and provided for them. Being the DIRECT profet of God meant they were not just cursing Elisha, But also the God that he represented. And you dont curse God, and not suffer for it.

Yes, because of the evil and sin filled hearts of MAN, he sent his SON to be sacrificed for all of mankind. So that we will not die, but be granted eternal life in heaven in the presence of God. He never asked jepithahs to sacrifice his daughter, that was an offer he made to God. and we never asked God to offer his son for a sacrifice, He did that freely for all of us, yourself included.

I have a few degrees and 46 Licenses and many more certifications in many fields, all of which is provable. So um yeah what have you got but a book no one can prove is correct/accurate. Haha, no. First of all, the number one reason people don't accept God as perfect and just is because they don't believe that a god exists. Another reason is because the bible illustrates how imperfect and unjust the character of God is even according to its own believers. Another would probably be due to experience of something unjust like the tragic death of innocent loved ones.

Whether you choose to accept it or not you are under GODS LAW...and you will be judge according to his law. I am not cherry picking...I hate cherries. I am stating fact as spoken from Jesus. We WERE under mosaic law until He came...and while he came to fullfill the law, not change it, he clearly stated that though we have read the ten commandments he brought us two, and by following the two he sets for us, we will be following the ten accordingly.

by Mosaic law, we had to sacrifice an animal to cover our sins, and the sin of the people became so great, that the blood flowed from the alter as a river. Seeing this, God sent his son in human form to earth, to be the final and supreme sacrifice for all. If he had not, with the rate of the rampant sin in the world today, we wouldnt have a single animal left for food.

OLD TESTAMENT....JESUS came to FULLFILL the LAW...meaning no more sacrifice of any kind...he was the FINAL sacrifice...and ANIMALS were offerd as a sacrifice to appease God for our SINS. Not people.

reading out of context i think i've heard that befor i wonder were ... oo i remember in churches when the pasters read read vague passages from the bible then try to place meaning to it ... and also based on bible translation god preffer's blood sacrifice to that of others ... remember cane and able i believe they were called god favored the sacrifice of the lamb but did not favor that of the other brother who placed grains befor the lord ...

God did lie. He said he wanted Abraham to sacrafice his only son, but he really did not want him to sacrafice his son. Why did he want to test Abraham?? I thought God was supposed to be all knowing. He is supposed to know you better than you know yourself. Oh, God did believe in human sacrafice. He sent his only begotten son to die on the cross for our sins. HELLOo human sacrafice.

I am sure that no one knows his eact words after all it was over 2000 yrs ago. But in the bible it said Then God said, Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about. God also command Moses' army to murder the male children among the Midianites. But the untimate human sacrafice was Jesus, who was sacrficed to clense all the sins from mankind.

When the bible talks about children, 99% of the time it's talking about people not babies....Women kill their children in the 1000's in the US alone every day, way more dead babies then you'll ever read in the bible.... I mean we are talking about mortality, but the truth is, dead babies are not your worry, people believing in a God is your worry! Know God for yourself before you attack Him, most Christians can't understand the bible, but you listen to an atheist? CRAZY...
