I think I'll pick him up to go with my deluxe prime and prowl and activators bumblebee combine hime with Voyager bulkhead since leader never showed up here then get voyager megs. I like leader megs better but he would be huge

Hasbro DID sacrifice something for this toy...his weapons from the show. In the show Ratchet uses a magnetic thing which appears as letter U on his arms..(a guy made a custom for this toy in TFW05)...but some reason Hasbro doesnt wanna give his magnetic weapons but wanted to give him weapons he cant store in vehicle mode instead!! PLUS HE NEVER USES THOSE TOOLS IN THE SHOW!!! Also, Lockdowns' EMP gun CANT FIT INTO HIS ARM PROPERLY!!

other than that, its a neat toy thats quite show accurate..

I've found looking at him dead on with the hella good yeah HOO HA HOO HA HOO HA HOO HA light piping going that the expression seems to magically turn into "fuck you, give me a peppermint patty bitch" in place of the sadness. It's really interesting. In that moment I realized that this toy is one of my favorites.

You're right on with the scale, first time I got those three into a group pose I was like OMGKAWAII

Nice review Vang. I just got Ratchet today and your video instuctions proved more informative than the Hasbro ones, particularly about the robogut. That joint was tight! I wasn't sure if it folded down or not. Took me a while to figure out a few things, but he's a pretty cool toy. And yeah, he does look sad, I want to give him a hug. Or maybe I'll just have my BA toy cheat on Op and give him a hug for me. ;-)

Is Ratchet relatively the right size to fight Lockdown like he did in the show? Like, I know since he's a Deluxe, his vehicle mode's the same size, but Lockdown's robot mode's twice the size of his vehicle mode.. In other words, could you do a quick size comparison? [:^)

You won't get much poseability with Lockdown. But he's cool-lookin'. And not as depressed as Ratchet. [:^)

Bought this figure today over Blackarachnia (sadly, they were the only deluxes the Wal-Mart had), and I have to pretty much agree with everything you said. Such a nice figure, but do you think he's better than Prowl? Prowl was originally supposed to be my first Animated buy.

It's hard for me to say...Prowl and Ratchet's biggest issues for me are identical: Weak heel support in robot mode.  And they both come with a plethora of accessories...I suppose Ratchet's size-change across his two modes would give him a leg up on Prowl, but honestly I'd have trouble choosing one over the other at a glance.

huh, vangelus forgot somethin'. ratchet's left arm has a socket to give him his EMP weapon back from Lockdown, although you may have to trim the peg in it that's supposed to make the weapon deploy to keep it from popping off...

I bought him.

I dont exactly like his vehicle mode(his lights, both are blue and look weird on the red plastic), and his windows.

otherwise, his robot mode is great, though I would've liked a more pissed off face then a depressed one.
