Barry was a Norman name that came to ireland during the Anglo norman invasion, Campbell is a scottish and English name that came here during the time the English took our lands and used the Scottish to run them , hence the plantationists. Neither are irish names.

a decent argument, but if your opponent had any undertstanding of history, he wud be able to counter that by saying those events were spead out over nearly 10 years and therefore cannot be clustered together as repeated offenses, but instead independent instances of brutality, a stronger arguement would have been to say another example of the british armys brutality and ignorance, alongside such examples of the 1919 burning of cork, the ioen fire on civilians at a football match in 1920

I try not to get into arguments re. politics.
However, I read about the Irish Potato famine, how the pickings of the land was sent across to England and sold abroad whilst the people starved. There was plenty of food to feed them but women and bairns were allowed to die in the streets and farmlands. The English Government stood by and did nothing. They wanted Catholic Ireland to die out.
I can understand why there is still a deep hatred towards England in particular for this injustice.
