This video is ridiculous because Judit is in a completely different league than her sister Susan. At one point she was in the top 10 players in the world, well above any woman's achievement.
@PsychStudentUSC Peolpe often forget: there are 3 Polgár girls. All of them trained to be chess masters. Susan (Zsuzsa), Judit, and Zsófia. Susan lives in the U. S. and has a daily-updated blog about chess realted issues, therefore people often forget about her sisters. Judit lives in Budapest. Zsofia lived in Izrael, but now in Canada - if I know it right.
Judit only plays against man. She has been named the best woman chess player of the century.
I played her today in Texas Tech university, she was playing against me and another 20 players at the same time, I almost beat her, but then again she's Susan Polgar!!! the best of the best
is she even in the world's top 10? because i believe that she would be totally demolished. when you'r on top, it doesn't take long before someone starts figuring out the way you play and how to beat you.
to say we are not all equally smart is inaccurate. everyone is smart, but it is the way we store and process information that is distinctive.all grandmasters show higher neuron activity in the brain that is way off the charts than the average player. they didn't get there overnight, because the brain had to reconfigure itself in other to better concentrate, analye and executive.
u r rite, any1 can be a genius. but some people have a genetic advantage over others. also it is still debatable whether or not it is nature or nuture that makes people smarter than others. i think it is both.you can be poor and underpriviledge but still smart. look at Obama, he went to harvard.
hey she's a hungarian right? see "matyas kuti" a rubiks cube blindfold master!! and a real genius!! take note he is a 14 year old hungarian!! maybe hungarians are real genius heheehe..watch him on youtube and see for yourself how short he memorizes a cube...
nah, they just see how to make the chess board "position" better. thats basically like solving the rubik's cube very quickly. quick sub concious mind through loads of practise
In the documentary, the term used is chunking. For Susan, she has the 'images' of various chess positions strongly etched on her mind. She doesn't calculate every possibility. Rather, she relies on her vast mental storage of chess scenarios / positions and makes her decisions. Intuition's also involved. :)
it happens when you study many chess lines and variations. everything the opponent plays, you already know which piece to move before he did!! and also it helps you in the zone where you don't think about what to play, all you do is play, and believe me most of the times you won't know how you got into just a great position and won but you did.natural chess ability is not enough to survive as a grandmaster!! very easily you could lose if you follow the wrong line.
By this motivation video only, we have launched a website with the name of makemegenius

Finally a grandmaster tells the truth about getting good at chess!
Now I know why Michael De La Maza's book on chess is a best seller and producing results that are unbelieveable amongst chess players.
