  • Fucking NME from 10 or so albums you play blitzkrieg bop a thousand fucking times.

no even close to there best song

  • hey NME, (and you really are the enemy)... can you please cut the EH OH stings? SO annoying. just a silent dissolve would work fine. sigh.

  • ''And he was my best friend''. Marky, I'm really sorry

  • The best legend ever...

  • Dear NME, The Ramones have more than one song!

  • god damm ads in the way.Living legend

  • ''I miss them'' that broke my heart...

  • Dee Dee was probly not conservitive just lisen to howling at the moon a song written by Dee Dee and one of the lines in the song is conservitives can cry that and listen to something to belive in also written by Dee Dee

Marky could of gotten confused with CJ though who was a moderite conservitive

  • The fucking advertising fails and now I can not watch. Fuck this shit. Fuck google.

  • Just because that is their most popular song doesn't mean we need to hear "hey hoe lets go" every 30 seconds.

  • i know it's sad but... it seems marky is sad.. or he will be sad forever...

  • @renyoborges I guess he's just tired... tired of being a Ramone...

    He's a jazz drummer, for God's sake!!!

  • he was my best fwend

  • @BrcikUnit.....WTF are you talking about? Marky Ramone was with the band for a very long time. Minus Tommy who was the original drummer and when tommy left for 5 years Richie came in. Marky is and will always be a Ramone. So dont talk shit you have no clue about.

  • its soo annoying how the ramones are dead and the left overs are trying to claim fame off of them

  • "I believe he's innocent"....Marky, you still drinking?

  • wow i never knew dee dee was right wing, cool cos i am too

  • @dontleademsomuch well with lyrics like "I'm a natzi shatzi and I fight for the father land" I suppose the clues were always there

  • im sick of blitzkrieg bop always being played as the ONLY ramones song rele its become stale at this point, great interview xD

  • dudes the real punks i love yll ramones

  • Most heavy thing I hear on 5.28 --

    sad story, great band !

  • Maaan, he looks like Ritchie Nixon who could manage to overthrow his shitty past...This Guy has reaaally the most powerful & straight Drumbeats i ever heard!

i hope we'll hear a lot of him in the future...every cell of him emanates pure Rock'n Roll, sometimes it feels like my heart's beating according to his drumrhythms and when i hear it it's just like listening to my twinbrother...

May you be well and unfold all happiness possible in this fuckin' life Marky!

  • just turned 21 been listening to the ramones since i was 15 wish i were born earlier so i coulda seen you guys live

  • excellent, thanks.

  • Hes talking about Pink Floyd "5 Songs - 10 minutes long."

  • @azzaboi93 Yes -- Pink Floyd, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Styx, and all those other long-winded bullshit bands from the mid 70's. Plus the disco. I'll even lump Aerosmith and Kiss along with the rest of them.

  • @marcoamedrano It comes all down to a matter of taste doesnot it? I know Led Zeppelin songs that are that long, and they are great, think about Deep Purplesongs, or Jimi Hendrix ! They all have some longer songs in their repetoire. Without these bands, the Ramones would never have existed. And Aerosmith and Kiss aren''t even in the league of these 70s bands, (again, in my humble opinion)

  • @DirkjeA I agree - it's about taste. Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Floyd etc., had long songs, and yes, if these bands hadn't existed, The Ramones also wouldn't have because like Marky stated, the Ramones were reacting to the "self-indulgent" ten minute rock songs of the 70's. The Ramones, minute and a half, two minutes, like the pop songs from the 50's, like the songs I loved listening to on NY's WABC oldies when I was a kid. I found the hard rock eight minute solos intolerable, but that's just me.

  • @marcoamedrano your not the only one man

  • "Hi I'm Marky Ramone from the World Famous Ramones." You gotta love it. LOOOOOOVE this band. Always will. Energy, dedication, and they were REAL.

  • he talks awfully slow for a new yorker. love the guy.

  • marky has a slow talk....great

  • nice one!

  • anyone who badmouths any 1 of the Ramones, does not know anything about how important they were for punk music!

  • no entiendo nada

  • he sounds like chris walken haha

  • lol he really does, i keep expecting him to be like :do it again and ill stab ya in tha face with a saudering iron"

  • No sun glasses for once!

  • dee dee was a conservative!?

  • Johnny was . So am I . You have a problem with that ?

  • no its just he doesnt seem like a conservative.

  • @sonor23 no no nobody has a problem with conservatives, george bush did an excellent job

  • @Sonor23. Johnny was also a racist and anti-semite. As usual those two worldviews tend to be a package deal.

  • @anarchopinko right, cos there NO conservative jews?? Try nearly every israeli government you silly retard.

  • kinda weird for a junkie

  • @MrBobKnowsBest a druggie conservative, LOL!

  • ya thats kinda why i thought it was odd that he was a conservative

  • @SyphusBatterus There are a lot of druggie conservatives. Think Rush Limbaugh.

  • I was in New York city a few months ago, I use to live there in the `80`s and I couldn`t believe how different everything is now. Every club is DJ night or dance parties, I was like WTF?? CBGBs is gone, the Pyramid club is a disco/karaoke club..Unreal, kids must be climbing the walls there. Go to a club and you get this Lady Ga Ga shit. I remember you could hit any number of clubs on a Friday night and see something like the UK Subs front and center, it was incredible.

  • thats the way of the world, my friend.

  • It f**kin sucks beyond all that sucks but like a friend of mine was saying, with every loss comes a gain. Punk is new again and any bands that start it again will have less competition now, what was once old is once again new and that is sooo damn true. Because I remember in the late `80`s people were saying that, punk is dead, metal rules, and Seattle as a result took advantage and blew everything away. Then the commercialism takes over and it starts all over agin.

  • these are words of wisdom.

  • They should make a movie bout Ramones. It's really f*ked up that joey, johnny and deedee aren't there anymore :/ makes me sick.

im a really big fan :O

  • They do have a movie already

  • really? ohh cool, then i'll need to watch it soon :)

  • Yeah, End of the Century, which is a Awesome!!! RAmones:Raw, also Great, and then there is Rock N Roll high School which is a really cheesy and all around terrible movie but still a must watch for all Ramones fans ahaha :D

They should come out with a a movie like Ray or Walk the Line for the Ramones

  • Doesn't sound like such a bad idea.

  • LUUUUUUUUVE the Ramones. Marky is so blunt - no bullshit. RIP Dee Dee, John, Joey. Somewhere in another dimension, there is another CBGB and you can all play together again one day.

  • Ummmm. . . did he just say that he and Joey got along with Phil, but that Dee Dee and Joey didn't? Did he mean Dee Dee and Johnny . . . or him and Johnny. . or. . . ?

Why does he think Phil's innocent? I read Ronnie's book. . . seems like Phil was pretty wacko, if she's to be believed as well as many others he worked with.

    Sorry. . . I don't think he's innocent.

  • 100% ramones viva mark love brazil

  • Hey show sum respect to this legend fucker

  • Too bad Joey Johnny and Dee Dee aren't alive. I would love to see there stories of The Ramones in 7:30 :D

  • i'm really glad NME are covering the classic rock bands like Motley Crue and The Ramones. it's necessary to teach the youngsters the music which inspired the music today.

  • well...the old music mus not have been that much inspiration cuz most of these new bands suck...they need 2 come bak with the love 34 music...now all they want is money

  • @aidenmccloskey You mention the Ramones and Motley Cru in the same sentence again and I'm gonna go BONKERS. lol

  • E assim, foram um dos maiores de sempre com os anjinhos.... Pena!

  • shut the fuck up windriix1

  • You obviously know nothing about conservatism. Punk and conservative ideals go hand in hand-- both value individual liberty.

You are probably confusing "Republican" with "Conservative".

  • @georgop39 complete bullshit. Punk is about change, about evolving and about doing it on your own. Conservativism is -as it's name impiles- wishes to 'conserve' in other words, to maintain the order of things. It does not want to evolve, it does not want to move forward, it wants things as they are (as long as things are not libertarian of course).

  • @windrix1 Boggles the mind, doesn't it?

  • @windrix1 Dee Dee was also bisexual but homophobic. Shocking.

  • The Living Legend

  • Top at the time.....he cam, he went...full stop. Easy to comment 30 years on. :P

    HEY HO LET'S GO!

  • Cool! I met him last year: a very polite man easy to approach.

  • nice one marky, you rock as always my friend

  • that is fuken annoying that hey ho lets go every min

  • @MrJosejura How can you get annoyed with the immortal "Hey - ho"?

  • most amazing , most influencial band ever to walk this earth. my god i grew up listening to the Ramones from the age of 10 till now age 41 and still wear the shirts and the converse baseball boots. hey ho lets keep it alive.

  • lol 4:32

    marky had to go away

    luv u marky!!

  • a lot of todays bands are big time influenced by these guys.u can tell by there fast speed, melodic voice and that poppy yet punk hook to there music.

  • new ramones generation??=?¿?¿?¿ jonas brothers... hanna montana, katy perry, lady gaga.. techno and hip hop music?!?!?!?! marky there is no music alive these days...

  • you obviously don't go out to (or have) the small shitty bars where music is the only thing keeping the place alive

  • what?

  • yeah nevermind... your too fuckin retarded to know what im talking about.

  • The Ramones are the greatest thing to ever walk the face of the earth. I wsih Joey, Dee Dee and Johnny were physically still alive but as long as someone is playing down strokes to three or four power chords, creating the greatest repetitive versus with catchy choruses or making up a good chant they will always be here with us.

    love you Joey

  • what a fucking dickhead you r mate. as the lurkers once said "a int gotta clue".

  • some how you are right - today he is an old man, but hey(ho) its marky ramone - a part of a legend (c:

  • good interview. too bad ramones aren't around anymore... but look what they started. that is their legacy.

  • cool video . back in high school i guess 1978 not alot of people liked them. as for my self i thought they were great. and they were. bad brain<---my favorite song

  • that was intense-thx for posting

  • wats the song called at the start

  • Blitzkrieg Bop

  • sdgdanielito

joey said as the years go by and you're older and doing shows marky

just came to live in Mexico and Latin play with the same energy as when I was in ramones

  • Their drummers used a good bum....bumbum, on their bassdrum. They were right in not using a double bass drum. I also like how it was stable and no one was left out. Metallica for example, was only good when Dave Mustaine (Medadeth) was with them. Lars just likes to her himself talk. That;s why he was a prosecutor during the Napster incident.

  • but double base is primaly for metal. There´s is no punkband i know, using double base

  • Sonic Youth on some songs.

  • okay... bronx too but normaly it is without double bass ;)

  • marky ramone was the best ramone drummer

  • Richie is 10000 times better!

  • marky's birthday tomorrow (:

  • Oh no! dose that mean he voted obama? DANG! lol still love him though!

  • I kinda hate it that everyone forgets him.

like the logo that says joey, johnny and dee dee but no marky

  • it does.... its on the left

  • no , most of the time it says tommy ...

  • sad but true.... plus i tot u meant this vid hahaha

  • hey ho !

  • he had the SAME expression through the entire thing!

  • hes lucky than most but not as lucky as some haha

  • GABBA GABBA HEY

  • So right!

I am very far on the right side, I can't imagine how much shit I've got for that...

  • And you should!. Continue to turn our planet into a toxic mess and ya gotta admit. Those tax breaks to those of us making over 150k a year are pretty sweet aren't they?

  • i am an anarchist. fuck left and right wing.

  • yep

  • Best RocknRoll interview I have ever seen

  • marky wears a wiig, i didnt even know that, thats why his hair isnt grey

  • One of the coolest things about the Ramones was their ability to make great music despite radical differences in personal ideology and temperament.

  • It makes me laugh when people are shocked when they hear about right wing rock stars. Not every rock star is a tree hugger vegetarian who hates George Bush. Thank God for the Ramones.

  • long live johnny ramone.

  • beautiful words.

  • ''i drank enough for 100 people'' hahahaaaa Marky you dog :D

  • Wow, that was a very good interview.

  • hey hey hey, if it was'nt for Johnny's machine gun attitude, The Ramones could've been long over before 1996. Yes he was an ass, but if that's what it took to keep the band going, Johnny did it.

    still, respect to all RAMONES.

i can't wait to see you in heaven guys!

  • @thedivys You don't know what you're talking about. Dee Dee was a conservative republican. He made no secret of it.

  • @punkxxxxxrocker you are talking rubbish. dee dee wasn't a conservative. he didn't even know what that meant. he was a liberal just by his lifestyle. silly wabbit

  • Comment removed

  • When did they record this? Cuz i dont remember Johnny dying. : ' (

  • i think he died from cancer

  • wow i didn't know Dede was right ring

  • DeeDee wasn't right-wing, Johnny was. He love GW Bush

  • HA FAIL!

  • mi disp x gli altri ti hanno lasciato da solo!!!ueueueu sono una tua fan!! dei ramones I LOVE RAMONES!

    HI O LET' S GO!

  • Gotta love Marky.

  • this was a nice interview. Marky was always well spoken and very respectful. You can tell in his voice that he has sincere respect and thoughts for DeeDee, Joey and Johnny. Thanks for sharing.

  • ( "Marky was always well spoken and very respectful. You can tell in his voice that he has sincere respect,,.") I agree with this.

I consider Marky the best interview after Johnny. Marky and Tommy are always respectful and complimentary towards each other as well.

  • my favorite Ramone. ahh.. *sigh* ....but ya gotta love em all.

  • dust was a great band

  • Comment removed

  • @strunch electrocution, i thought would make me a star..... i stood in the rain, with my electric guitar....and then that fast cymbal snap!! hard attack is one of my favorite albums for almost 40 years....first album smokes, too!! peace

  • nice to hear HIS point of view on the band.He WAS THERE DRUMMER FOR 15 YEARS!!

  • then you got the mc5, the dickies, the dead boys, johnny thunders, the germs, etc etc etc etc but a song about sniffing glue and a song about beating someone with a bat are definitely punk so get over yourself.

  • if you ever saw them live then you knew they were indeed punk. 1,2,3,4 song, 1,2,3,4 song, they didn't fuck around with chit chat. they had political views as well but that's not what made them punk. they did it their way and didn't care what people thought. that is punk to me. they toured europe and that is when the pistols, the clash, and the damned came around because they were inspired by seeing the ramones live.

  • exactly man, go tell the pistols fans that! they will say that the pistols started the punkrock scene, which was not true, real Ramones fans, know what im talking about :)

  • the stooges weren't punk. they were experimental garage rock but their attitude was punk. the ramones took that attitude and indeed created punk on their debut album. after that they paid tribute to the styles of music they liked growing up. nothing wrong with that,

  • I love the Ramones but I HATE NME!!!

  • i miss them to marky

  • he commented about their views, he wasn't hateing on them, so chillout, he loved those guys so don't call him weak for talking about em

  • marky is cool guy but describing republicans (johnny/dee dee) as fanactical is weak. their views are their views. get over it.

  • what bands had like 5 songs 10 min

  • Listen some grind or crust so you gonna have like 100 Songs in 3 min.

  • no i mean like long ass songs
