  • @ shooper681. I haven't had one in a while and I just like the thought of it having a night terror waking up in the middle of the night being scared it seems cool

  • kid cudi has night terrors

  • Night Terrors I used to get them. They were horrable and most of the time I didn't even remember anything. I would be told that I screamed in my sleep and move around. Sometimes they said I would look dead or not breathing. This is no laughing matter. I was only having them for a few months. I can't imagin anyone going there whole life with them.

  • @clanakent i never got one but i get nightmares

  • night terrors are nothing like this dumb video. im 34 and i still have them not as bad as when i was a kid but i still get them. most of the night terrors i get now are things i see in my bed that arn't there like huge spiders or snakes yesterday i saw something that looked like a monkey that ran from my bed across the room. i ran after it. when i was younger i would see people or dogs. i have also seen angel's and demons so the real question is. what is real if anything ?

  • @Mohawkman4081 It must be overwhelming to suffer from such ailments. Did you take any medication or got some therapy? I mean, I'm totally new to this. Cheers and the best for you! :-)

  • @Mohawkman4081 lol, schizo

  • My 14 year old sister is the same. She kicks, screams, & even when she gets really frightend she wets her self. She went through chiled abuse as a kid & its sad too see her loke this, she has seen countless Drs but there is nothing thay can do! Joy has ht me in her sleep & atacked me. Night terrors arnt funny, its hard to see a step sister suffer like this & its hard hearing screaming for help but I can't go near her so I sort of know what its like!

  • @darkhourvampire she will stop,i did,my terrors were horrific,I wet the bed till I was 14 then it stopped and started again when I was 17,after the age of twenty its never really happened again,I dont even ever get any bad dreams whatsoever now either

  • @VIKINGODIN I hope so I don't really know what to do for her. I know her mum tryed too kill her but I just don't know how to react!

  • I wish I had night terrors

  • @1412Birthday no.. u rlly dont

  • @1412Birthday why

  • I would like to use the audio from this documentary in a song intro.

I will not be profiting from it.

    Is that okay?

Btw, nice doc and editing :)

  • it felt like my hands were huge. and that my room was shrinking. the only way to wake me up was to bring me out in the freezing cold.

  • @TOOLMAN09100 Same happened to me, all objects i touched felt small and insignificant.

  • I remember my last night terror. I had an absolute certainty that I was going to die, my family, friends everyone was going to die.

  • My worst night terror was when I was 4 maybe 5 years old. I jumped out of bed in fool throttle speed running into the wall head on hitting my face and bouncing back then running into the wall again maybe 4 times before my mom stopped me. I was screaming and scratching at my face and pulling at my hair and cloth's trying to get the snakes off me. I couldn't go to school cause my face was swollen and they might have thought I was getting abused. I don't remember any other night terrors.

  • i also have night terrors my family siad that i used to run around the house opening doors and screaming where am i they also said it looked like i was looking for somthing but when i woke up i didnt remember anything at all from the past night

  • Yeah, i get night terrors all the time.. sad thing is during my night terrors i get sleep paralysis so i have to sit there, paralyzed while my night terror just haunts me for 20 minutes... a night terror is one of the most horrifying and terrible thing that can happen to a human being... one time i got lucky and had a night terror without sleep paraylsis... i could get out of my bed and speak fine.... although my night terror (nightmare) was still occuring/chasing me but at least i could move...

  • eventually you sort of know whats going on with you and that your having one its still extremely horrifying but you have an idea of whats happening so it isnt as bad as when it first occured im going to try to see if i can her to film the next time i do it just to see what exactly goes on.

  • to them and just tries to do her best to comfort me i usually end of kicking or hitting her and screaming but not in such a violent manner in which i hurt her more so to let her know im being affected by something of which i have no control so then she'll talk to me and hold me letting me know its ok, i usually have to wake myself up out of it screaming uncontrollably. Its pretty bad lately ive been sleeping walking without knowing, just hoping they dont combined (sleepwalking and night terror).

  • Night terrors are extremely horrifying ill be 23 in a month and continue to get them i used to sleep walk as a kid (7th grade) and climb down my bunk bed walk around my house and go into my parents room screaming at the top of my lungs hes after me please help me. As i got older into my highschool years it wasnt uncommon to get sleep paralysis seeming to be awake in my room with a dream still happening spiders, demons etc. i still continue to have night terrors but my girlfriend has gotten used

  • one of my friends had a night terror during a school camping trip/team building retreat thing. It was really scary; we couldn't wake her up, and even when she did wake up she was still convinced she was inside the dream for a few seconds.

  • Want to understand more about night terrors? Go to Google and type in paranormal phenomena + night terrors.

  • i had a terrible night terror one hour ago!

(it was 2 am when it occured)

first ill say it was a a terror of me running from 'someTHING'

I was asleep really while half was happening.

I jumped out of bed and i ran downstairs and i unlocked the door started running away from something! i ran for quite a while extremely fast i could hardly breathe i was so scared!

i ran back and turned of alarm and explained to the alarm people what happened. im 14 and i have a weak heart. this was so scary!!

  • im melinda and im 12 yrs old and iv had night terrors sins i was 1 and a half this is a fake one terribly fake theres diffrent forms of night terrors and i have one of the bad ones mine is about spikes [spikes coming for me, or me in a chair stuck and the chair going up to a spike or the room i most common see im in with spikes going past the entrances were theres 2 entrences im going to make a club on a chatroom called ROBLOX.com about night terrors so...... who eva is my age join the chat room

  • I remeber my night terrors detail for detail

  • I started having these about a year and a half ago; I'm 25 now, so they started for me at a late age according to most cases of it. Night terrors are absolutely frightening, and for someone who has never experienced it it's hard to explain the fear that you feel when it happens. People make fun of me because I don't like watching scary movies anymore, but I don't care what they think, because they just don't understand what I go through when I have a NT about something I watched recently.

  • 2:15 that sort of shit happened to me once. almost exactly like that, flashes of dead babies in my nightmare. it was even sepia toned. right before i woke up!!

  • So you're telling me he has Nightmares? Like any other regular person does? I dont want to seem ignorant but I get these some nights, my heart beats really fast and I could feel it, I start to sweat and just suddenl;y wake up and I won't remember anything at all, neither in the morning, just a few vague sounds or images and the feeling of being scared, and I know they are nightnmares at the least. How can I tell the difference?

  • @CL3V3RSL3AZOID night terrors tend to manifest in a more physical and verbal way most (if you can call them normal) night terrors the person is still asleep and but gets up can thrash about hurting themselves and others and scream and hallucinate

  • wow I really did not need to see his feet

  • could these night terrors be caused by being allergic to glutton or wheat? and can night terrors be harmful to the body?

  • @marilynknotborgir not sure about the cause. But harm to the body, i have jumped out windows in mine so they are pretty dangerous,

  • Conquering your fears is something no child is capable of, that's most likely why we have them as children. I have learned to lucid dream and sleep quite well now. If an adult was having these my suggestion as a former victem of these would be to face all of your fears head on. If it means handling snakes, bugs, height, whatever it is, take someone you trust and have them help you conquer fear. Just stay excited about becoming stronger and start to log your dreams as soon as you wake up.

  • The other thing that is intriguing besides the time displacement is that mine were like a problem, a life or death issue was present, only I could not figure it out because I didn't know the question. One person described the paradoxical nature of this as a loved one in front of them sweeping an entire floor with a long needle. The whole dream you are watching this and somehow know it's wrong but can't say anything or figure out why it's bizarre to begin with. Always Fearful and distressing.

  • I had them for years and my parents even had me see a Dr, that's when they first heard of Nigh Terrors. The Dr said that most people grow out of them and I did, though I have had 2 as an adult and got me researching to find out what it was all about. The worst ones seemed to never end, I'd wake up and look at the clock to see how long I had until morning, I swear time just stood still. I would be in the Terror for what seemed like an hour and only 2 or 3 minutes would go by. Very Demonic .

  • i get night terrors when i falls asleep too fast, when i dont get enough rest the night before and when im on my feet all day, i can control it now and when it begins to happen i just have a light snack like crackers and it goes away and i can fall asleep at ease, very scary for me in the beginning i must say though

  • a puppy?

    why?? =;(

  • Anyone know the music?

  • Anyone know the music?

  • I honestly think this video is really well done, especially knowing it's made by 'amateurs'. I think what sets it apart is the angles & cinematography of it all, really captured how it must feel to be *in* the night terror. Bravo :-)

  • Excuse me if I offend anyone... but this actually looks exciting to me.

  • My 5 year old has night terrors about once every two weeks we still haven't worked out if there's a pattern or why? It is always almost to the minute an hour after he's fallen asleep! It is very distressing to us both. He never knows who I am n sometimes looks straight thru me! Have not experienced anything like lastnight though, jumped out of bed after hearing him run upstairs crying, I then found him shut in bathroom crying n shaking with a metal toothpick in his hand!? The toothbrush pot is

  • i stopped mine, its anxiety

  • This really sucked it looked like some cheap delusional scene from a really bad movie

  • it happened last night....it was around 3:45 am.. i was about to fall asleep and then i heard my brothers voice tremble, it got louder until he started screaming, like it was freakin intense something out of a horror film, it went on for 5 minutes and it scared the hell out out of me, i thought he was being attacked by a demon and i was next!!! oddly enough he had a dream he was being attacked by a demon, and then it happened again at 6 am only for a few seconds and then TODAY!

  • I usually wake up with idea that there's a bomb in my apartment or that I only have a few seconds to live--it's pretty miserable.

  • thanks. very helpful for my health project on night terrors

  • my brother always tells me that i wake up screaming and running around the house but i can never remember me doing them anyone know what this could mean/be?

  • do you know the average time they wake up in the middle of the night? its supprisingly important.

  • that guy is hot

  • i don't know if what i had some time ago is considered a night terror, but i remember sleeping in an unfamiliar place where the doors had no locks and feeling like the owner of that place broke into my room and threw me out of the window. I woke up all the sudden thinking that i couldn't get up thinking all my bones were broken and then i realized that i was in bed and unharmed. One of the most terrifying experiences ever.

  • I had them every night when i was younger, and now only when im sick.

but some people start seeing things, i do not have that.

in my eyes the world isnt correct anymore. distance does not exist, every thing feels very Thick or extremely small. every thing moves at a bizarre speed.

    Time does not exist.

    It is extremely disturbing.

just had one. Im absolutly terrified!

  • i had a night terror that still haunts me today, when iw as little i woke up looking at a bloody corpse hanging from my ceiling, it all seemed too real, i was 8

  • I had horrible night terrors.Ive since been able to calm myself down instead of freaking out like I used to.I would have no control over my body yet I witnessed everything I was doing.I would just be in another world among ours it seemed, the strange thing is all of these night terrors had nothing to do with anything remotely scary to anyone else.It would always be something about numbers and my brain and when the numbers reached 0 I would wake up and feel like I didnt have a brain anymore.

  • I also had war night terrors I have them every few months or so

  • when i was little i used to have these. they are awful... i remember running through my house screaming.. crying about this war that was going on downstairs, that obvously didn't happen. acording to my parents i was even jumping down the whole flight of stairs. i only remember 2 of them. apparently there were many more

  • EPHESIANS 6:12

  • I like your accent :D

  • I have this, where I cant move anything but my eyes, I try to scream, move my arms or legs, and I feel great fear and see a demon inches from my face, my heart beats so fast sometimes I think its really going to scare me to Death....

    sandysconce@yahoo.com

If you ever want to talk

Its so bad I now sleep in the day time and not at night.....

  • @sandyhembree you seem to be experiencing nothing but sleep paralysis! Not to be confused with night terrors.....though in my opinion sleep paralysis is 10x scarier coz you can literally SEE your dreams superimposed on the image you see through your eyes! Too real to just brush off eh? Haha, i'm so used to 'em now

  • Night terrors are not nighmares... so therefore you do not dream during night terrors. Dreams happen during REM sleep, night terrors take place during Non REM sleep. This is a really bad example of Night Terrors... and NIght Terrors have nothing to do with dairy.....

  • o.k, that makes scence,i believe in jesus christ, i am born again, at a youg age, you too?..i think they are demons.the spirit world...when we sleep, are souls are in another demention.i believe we do not fight with flesh and blood, but with spirits in the heavenly realms.for me...for me...i can scence evil..not always,..but i can, and thats why i get a s.s i check, they think im crazy..but im not...anyways, i guess one has to believe in heaven and hell to maybe understand what im trying to say.

  • @whatfay357 I totally beleive in Heaven & Hell, but it seems like you need some help friend, because the people that think your crazy, may not be right, but if you still feel evil from time to time, and you say a prayer and whatnot, and the evil doesnt go away, then its not a demon, but your subconcious mind messing with you.. Try the praying thing, if that doesnt work, I'd suggest getting further psycological help, yeah?

  • Isn't that the schizophrenic guy you interviewed?

  • i had one last night, REALLY FUCKING BAD. i went to bed EXHAUSTED only to be plunged into this horrifying experiance and wake up, and drift into it again, and wake up, and (like in my old lucid dreaming days) had to literally hold unto my conciousness even though my body was paralyzed to stop myself from going to sleep again because i was SO FUCKING SCARED.

  • Was it a film course? B-.

  • when i have night terrors usually i first dream my soul is walking on a strait path that i can not move off of and then an i run into a black demon that ripps my soul out of my chest and there is no alternative path so it causes me to freak out in my sleep for no reason.. not sure if its demon possession tho

  • @punkgabe If it was demon possession, it wouldnt just be messing with you during your sleep, but with your everyday life..

  • 1) This 'documentary' would have been much more interesting if it was about a real person. 2) Sleep terrors does not mean sleeping alone, but you do need someone who can be very understanding! 3) It's possible it's a complex partial nocturnal seizure or at least something neurological rather than a response to old trauma. 4) It's possibly genetic since my fiance and his Dad have the same problem

  • This 'documentary' would have been much more interesting if it was about a real person rather than a fictionalised example. Both my fiance and his Dad have night terrors and I don't believe their condition is due to some kind of trama. I have an interest in how emotional traumas can affect us - I am a psychodynamic counsellor. In my opinion, the night terror may in fact be a complex partial seizure. I have worked with people with epilepsy. Also my fiance and I do share a bed!!!!

  • its 2;32 am, im trying to go to sleep but i scence the evil in my room., its like there here waiting for me to go to sleep.there watching me.its going to be interesting to see if they come tonight, or if im just paroniod.

  • @piehguy22 isnt it nice to be able to tell some one to shut up over the net, you probebly alittle bitch in the real world, so it makes you feel like a man to talk trash, when you know damm well people cant get a hold of your bitch ass..lol.

  • Comment removed

  • @piehguy22 i have had night terrors for ever, im diognosed with sleep terror , i take meds for it,ive had them so long that i fear it is going to happan every night, they never get better, or used too.for me it is like they lie and wait.you have no idea untill you yourself go threw it..period.

  • I think mine were caused as a child by indigestion before bed and I was lucid the entire time I would get up and still be in the night terror state it was kind of an inescapable feeling I would know what was happening but didn't have a choice in the matter. Feelings of death, obliteration, and doom would envelope me for nonsensical reasons and sometimes I would literally run across the house one time I attempted to flush my socks down the toilet. I don't get them anymore only as a child.

  • I guess i had this growing up but the thing is i remember all of it........EVERYTHING and i still get them now and then.....What Would you call that.......Night Terrors still......i never found an answer but what if i seen things...heard things no one els did.......i dont really talk about it im just now trying to wonder..whats going on with me.

  • I've had NT's since I was a child. They get worse the older I get. I'm 40 now. There are spurts, sometimes several months long, when I won't experience a terror. Then out of the blue, they restart again, and are non-stop. I can't wake myself up. I fear someday, I won't wake up period...due to racing heart. I find Seroquel to be the best medication to help night terrors. But, I also hate being on it. I'm thinking I have no choice anymore.

  • Night terrors WERE my childhood trauma. My first memory was a night terror, scarred me for life. Not sure how old I was, I remember my mom turning off the lights, going down the hall, then on the right side towards the foot of the bed I saw a black cloaked figure, like a burka, but a very thin black material and it covered the whole face, even the eyes which glowed though it. The figure made clicking sound as it came over to my crib/bed, I cried out and my mom came in and the figure vanished.

  • Mine are similar to this except I feel suffocated & like I'm awake but I can't move or open my eyes. It's also very hard to scream or breath. Am I even having night terrors or is it something different?

  • @xxGlitznGlam thats sleep paralysis

  • @xxGlitznGlam i go threw the same thing. only i feel complet EVEL ALL SAROUND ME., I CANT MOVE OR SCREEM,and my eyes r open, and i see everthing around me,1 x i saw the grim ripper walking towards me,and i was screaming, and trying to move, no use..the only thing that SNAPPES me out of this is when i say jesus is lord, or jesus forgive me.it happends all the time.

  • @whatfay357 That happened to me when I used to have nightmares about alien abduction (this was after my night terrors had stopped). One night I dreamt I was driving around in my truck at night and it was raining, in the distance, in the distance I see the silhouette of a huge ufo, then strobe lights start flashing from the ufo, I become paralyzed and then the lights became a solid beam, myself and everything in the truck start floating up. All I could do is call out "JESUS!", then I woke up.

  • @TheAmazingJimmy let me ask you something, when you say nightmares, r u awake, or dreaming?

  • @xxGlitznGlam Night Terrors, or you know, a guy is breaking in strangling you, closing your eyes, until you pass out again, then leaving, not touching anything else.... Lets hope its not the latter eh?

  • @xxGlitznGlam sleep paralysis

  • This documentary is very accurate. However, the ending is not always the case. Most people that suffer from the disorder is calmed by a bed partner. Thus it is better for them to sleep with someone they trust than alone were Night Terrors are more likely as you will feel unprotected.

Cuddling close to a bed partner with both arms around them, that just had a terror, is unlikely to have another one that night. ...doing so may stop most of them too.

  • the first time i had night terrors, i was screaming so loud in the middle of the night, my aunt couldn't wake me up so she SLAPPED me right in the face, so hard i woke up immediately...from then on, its been my only cure lolz

  • I was just wondering if you had any more information on Night Terrors. I am doing a project myself for my high school psychology class and needed more info.

  • i have some scary ass dreams.. sometimes the 1 that fucks me up.. its like iv woke up and for 1second alls fine then instantly its like all the airs sucked out the room i just have this absolutly terrifying feeling that something/someone is around me or tryin to get close to me.. i always try to shout out but can only quietly mumble, cant move either.. when i really wake up im screwed up for a good 1-2hours and have to watch tv or something.. hate dreams where im bein chased aswell

  • Having night terrors as a child was the most horrible thing I can recall.

My night terrors would make any nightmare, horror movie, personal fear or pain, even the thought of hell, seem like a simple picnic.

If there is a hell (or worse), I was closest to it during my period of night terrors.

  • @TSM8088 i know, im 41 and they IS A EVIL PRESENCE all around you right?

  • @whatfay357 Yes, exactly. That's what it feels like, and even worse. It's so confusing because you're in a state of split consciousness, frantically looking for an escape when there is none. It is truly horrible to experience this.

  • I had only one I think...I was half-awaken, half-asleep, I think my eyes where opened, and I was saying to my just running parents..."don't you see it?, don't ou see it?" showing a nightable against the wall o.O... in the morning when they told me about the incident I was pretty sure they were joking me!! I had not a single memory!!

  • Should get that bedside lamp fixed.

  • @kentsmithnz That made me lol

  • @Sleeteye why do you constantly show his feet?

  • @Sleeteye i dont have these cause i can remember most of what happened......but i swear every few nights: i look into the very heart of hell

  • @b1naqm28 ,,,ferme ta yeule,,,ti-coune,,, everybody hates KKKébécers souvereinist nationaliste like your self!!! .... ;-)

  • i do drink and eat lots of dairy products..but im not allergic, i go to gym lots , when i sleep and "wake up" i cant move and my eyes are still closed i can feel my body just liek the way im on my bed when i finally wake up

  • Both my brother and I have these. I often wake up while frantically running through the house, or sometimes i wake up staring straight into the sun because in my dream the sun is an atomic bomb. My brother runs around the house screaming bloody murder in his sleep. Sometimes he comes in my room and shakes me violently while he is still dreaming. I've seen him tear down the blinds because he's trying to climb up them. I think his night terrors scare me more than they scare him!

  • I almost lost my leg due to smashing out a 4mm plate galss window during one of my episodes, and the common theme in mine is, I'm always screaming "Run, get out now"? And there is no help in NZ for this. Bar having to pay thousands for a sleep lab I'm stuffed as the GOVT don't help with costs.

Therapists reckon I have PTSD plus there are gaps in my memory, but therapy only does so much and I'm sick of taking sleeping tablets.

How odd that it happens so quickly after dozing off

  • For me, It's always this dark-black-shadow-like figure that tries to follow me and hunt me.

This time it started off as a dream where someone knocked on my door and I answered it, then this black figure (in the dream I knew it was a "ghost") tried to grab me and pull me out. Then the dream went away, my brain was awake, and I couldn't open my eyes nor could I move my body. Then the sense of someone watching me beside my bed kicks in with a constant ringing in my head Such a terrifying experience

  • @JIHOJIJO sounds like Sleep paralysis, the paralysis that occurs as a part of REM (rapid eye movement) sleep. Sleep paralysis occurs either when falling asleep, or when awakening. When it occurs upon falling asleep, the person remains aware while the body shuts down for REM sleep. When it occurs upon awakening, the person becomes aware before the REM cycle is complete. The paralysis can last from several seconds to several minutes, eye movement is still possible during such episodes.

  • @JIHOJIJO *Continued* In addition, the paralysis may be accompanied by terrifying hallucinations and an acute sense of danger. Sleep paralysis is particularly frightening to the individual because of the vividness of such hallucinations. since completely fanciful or dream-like objects may appear in the room alongside one's normal vision. This sounds close to your issue...

  • @snakeman414

lol thanks for the whole explanation but you didn't have to.

I've experienced it myself so I already knows what happens haha

The fact that, in my dream, the moment I see the figure my brain immediately tells me its a ghost, and I believe it. that's the scariest. Then the feeling of someone walking towards me in my room while I'm paralyzed.. oh my god it feels so real.

can't find a scientific reason why the "black figure" and the paralysis is universal.

  • @snakeman414 just doing my job as a sleep psychologist....

  • i think i have night terrors but not so ectreme like parenrst say i scream middle of night and lal i remember is them coming and saying is everything okay then i say ya and i go back to sleep dam idk what that is but this doesnt happen every night like once or twice a week but now it s winding down since i noticed them

  • wake up people, there are demons behind night terrors, not just a ''brain misaction''

  • Intressant! Jag skulle gärna vilja se en fortsättning på denna dokumentär! :) bra gjort :P

  • Don't know about an official study.. but it has worked for me for the last 2 years. Before I removed dairy from my diet, I could expect 2-3 NT per week, some of them very dangerous. Now, I can't remember the last time I had an NT..

  • @dx398 Interesting, perhaps a link between NT and Lactose Intolerance?

  • Night Terrors can be caused by allergic reactions to DAIRY products. Eliminate Milk and Cheese from your diet and you WILL see a difference..

  • @dx398 Has there recently been a new experiment? I was under the belief that this was a "Old Wife's Tale" rather than scientific fact.

  • @dx398 thats really interesting. before i knew I was lactose intolerant I had TERRIBLE night terrors. they are much better now though. i never made that connection though...

  • I'm 36 years old and I still have night terrors. My doctor said I would out grow it. I'm still waiting. They usually have something to do with insects or fire. I've hurt myself during some of them. I took a flying leap out my bed into the hallway summer saulting in the air and bounced off the wall landing on my neck and shoulder. I've broken glass and had minor cuts.

I've had funny ones too that weren't scary.

Apparently my imagination is out of control :p

  • Cobras!

  • @JonasC22 Hahaha "he has night terrors ma'am"

  • I think i had this.my dad had just died and i was asleep.i woke up terrified afraid to look up.i was conscious and aware of my surroundings.i looked up and saw a shadow of a man for like 5 seconds.i was terrified and screamed.then i went back to sleep.it was awful.im not sure if it was a night terror cause i remembered it.

  • @slicknicknirvana This is actually a common one. I'm doing research for a documentary on the same subject, and several of the people I have interviewed about their experiences mentioned something like this. It could be a symptom of hallucinatory sleep disorder, which is a close relative of night terrors.

  • i get night terrors all the time one time i was sleeping at my friends house and he was awake when i was asleep and i was apparently talking to him and i punched him in the stomach and i dident remember a thing and i would not hurt him on porpose hes like my best friend

  • omfg ive had these when i was younger. they scared the shit out of me, ive had them since i was 12-15, i always got a nasty gut feeling while sleeping and even when i wake up i couldnt calm down, all i remember is everything spinning and alot of red flashing, but i couldnt make pictures out in my head. i eventually grew out of them and when i did i was probably the happiest guy in the world, night terrors arenta joke.

  • im not sure if this is a night terror, but i constantly have dreams where i only remember people stabbing at me and my mother said i was tossing and turning every 5 seconds and i would lift my arm up and swing it around and i was sweating and making odd sounds like whimpers almost. im not sure if it is a night terror but that happens to me often.

  • i had a night terror once. the reason was that i had excema. i was 2. i was screaming that there were lizards in my bed and on my body.

  • i dont know if anyone can help, i suffer from night terrors nearly every night for about two years now, i wake up in different place and often stand up in my sleep and scream, ive also been getting both sleep paralysis which are causing bad hallucinations which when i regain movement are causing panic attacks and ive started getting apnea around once a week in my sleep, but im 20 years old and i thought this mainly happened to children, if anyone has advice it would be appreciated

  • @jimmy90999 It sounds to me that you need to go see a sleep specialist. You are describing not only one but possibly severel sleep disorders including REM behavior disorder, narcoleptic symptoms, and apnea. The REM behavior disorder is more prevalent in older men but can also happen to men your age and the others can occur at any age. It could be one or any combination of these. Some sleep disorders carry serious health consequences. Good Luck

  • Interesting his name is Chris...(even if he is a fictional character)...but I have a friend named Chris who has Night Terrors all the time, and he says he remembers some of what happens, but when he goes to explain it, he can't...but i've seen him, and it can get rather creepy...he hasn't seen a psychatrist or anything...but he tries to free his mind of anything bad...but then it still ends up happening...so, idk

  • Recently within a span of 2 months I've been having these dreams in which I am unaware that I have fallen asleep and I think that I am still lying in my bed. In one there was a 'presence' on the foot of my bed and every time I tried to sit up I was pushed onto my back by an invisible hand and I couldn't speak. A similar experience in which 3 songs were playing and had this different 'psychedelic experience' then something hit me in the back. In both cases the transition to waking was seemless.

  • i sometimes remember what happens in mine ive had ones of me and my brother killing eachother or something absolutly horrible happenning to my cat or other people i know and when i wake up im crying and i go looking for them hoping theyre ok, i also had one were something disgustingly embarrasing gory happened to myself i woke up and nearly went sick because i saw every detail of it

  • Terrifying to see. My bro used to have these when he was little. I was probably about 8 or 9 at the time and my brother was around 5 or 6. My parents and I used top wake up to blood curdling screams of "HELP ME! HELP HELP! HELP ME!" It sounded like someone was literally hurting him and he was begging for his life. When we tried to wake him he didn't know who we were, where he was or what was happening. The next morning he had absolutely no memory we couldnt sleep properly from the adrenaline.

  • @Gordo1989 big mistake you never try to wake them they can go into shock and bad things happen apparently they can go into fits if you wake them among other things

  • @danophile07 as soon as we "woke him" he would go throught the second phase, the dellusional etc. He would then go back to sleep almost instantly. I think the heart attack part only really comes into play with people who are much older. Nevertheless my mum was a trained nurse so if anything did happen she would know what to do.

  • quack quack quack said the duck.

  • ok i had one but it was when i was very little i was in my back yard and got bit by a ant and that night i had a dream were coachroches crawled out of my cealing and wen i woke up ther were tones of difforemt types of bugs crawling on me and i tryed throwing them off and it didnt work so i closed my eyes counted to 10 and i opend them to see no sign of bugs. it scared the life out of me.

  • @HelloNothole i used to have nightmares, and id wake up from one vivid dream into another to find i wasnt even awake this happened a lot and the nightmares/terrors were horrible eventually i would screaming desperatly trying to wake up in real life

  • to realize that it isn't real. Last night there were some bugs in my bed and it was the usual screaming, but when i stood up and tried to run away my left leg was numb and i crashed to the ground, than started laughing when i realized what happen. But an year ago i watched some documentary about black holes and in the night i open my eyes and there's this huge black hole on my floor. I was like WTF shouting and tried to run away only to wake my neigbours. I feel relief that a shared this

  • God is the last thing that you can think of when you're running around the room scared shitless screaming murder. From my personal observations night terrors are related to the enoivrment you are in, school, work, stress, family.

I've had them for 6 years and sometimes they occur every night, but sometimes not for months.

Almost all the times i get scared shitless from something that isnt there, spiders, snakes, spooky shadow thingies in my room moving, and it takes about a minute

  • I can tell you one thing though thinking about God during it only made it freakier claiming science and rationality in my head was much more comforting...i can see why someone would be religous on the opposite spectrum from my experience...super excited to go to bed to see wht happens next...

  • lol

  • god make this happen

  • I have these from time to time, no matter what you may think they are they are TERRIFYING!!!!! I had one last night. I can see a robed figure every time and remember vividly when I am awake. YIKES!!!

  • @MrROTD Let me help. I have the worst one. Don't try to compete, I guarantee, I will win. Mine are all about timing. Anyway, that robed figure is a personification of your inner demons. It sounds retarded, but that's what it is. Don't give your inner demons the satisfaction. Here's what to do.

  • @SergeantBasterd BEFORE hearing a loud scream or noise, (Normally the scary event happens before that.) I go into a state in between asleep and awake. If I stop struggling for just one second, I go back into the dream. That's never happened, though 'cause I'm so focused on getting out. Unfortunately, you end up yelling whether you mean to, or not. Your nightmare still gets that sign of weakness.

  • @SergeantBasterd Yes, I believe my nighmares are just competing against me. It's a primitive view, yes, but I take comfort in it.

  • i have had night terrors all my life.Calling on jesus helps,i have had very bad ones. i have a very controled mind and truely dont fear much in this life even death dont scare me,but i just cant seems to control my dreams enough to dream good or pleasurable dreams.thank god jusus is there to help.

  • why do they keep zooming in on his crip bandana?

  • Wow I never watch these kind of videos..Because they get me night terrors. The thought of night terrors are terrible. The pictures I see in my night terrors make me cuss and scream in bloody murder. I never want one again...Never....

  • To stop a night terror in its tracks, call on the name of Jesus.

  • lol!

  • Were as I respect your faith and your religion thats like calling on the name of Christ with cancer. This is a real subject normally rooting in trauma that is dormant (sexual abuse) they try meds now but you dont get to R.E.M. sleep so you pretty much feel like you didnt sleep all the time.

  • i am already 21 and is experiencing night terrors almost every night and there comes a point when i got so afraid becausyse even though i had just slept (about 5 mins i think) i also experience sleep paralysis and after getting over that, there comes night terrors again..is there a cure for this?i am so afraid to experience night terror and night paralysis again,.by the way i had experienced sleep paralysis more than 3 times in just a one or 2 weeks time...help me with this plzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • im stufying this in psychology, u need medication...

  • i am experiencing night terrors almost every night.. i have experience sleep paralysis three times(as i can remember)...my father sometimes experience night terrors as well, but i am not really sure with his case, maybe he's just a little drunk...but what i am experiencing, i think is that of hereditary cause...can i so something to stop or just at least lessen this?

  • excuse me i ran out of text..its not like seeing scary figures like demons and devils and evils scary things...its being stuck in between "our" reality and the "other" reality "which is impossible to describe..please respond if you ever been in the "other" world

  • i have two concepts on night terrors.(I know it sounds unrealistic )1.having memory of fetal development and 2) of actual seizure memory (remember being in a seizure).I personally don't like talking about it because i dont want to think of anything that would trigger it.Marijuana brings on night terrors for me.And its not seeing scary images like demons and devils and blood and murderther life".Please reply if you have mutual feelings

  • it seems i had one for the first time in my life last night. i was in my apartment in my bed, and i thought i felt my cat walking over me, but then realised i no longer have a cat. i tried to push what it was off me then i felt tension on my neck. then i felt two hands strangeling my neck. i could actually feel the strangeling hands and their skin texture, as i was trying to pull them off. it was soo vidid and i could hardly breathe. it didn't feel like a dream, it was just too realistic.

  • What you experienced was most likely a sleep paralysis.

  • Hey yeah, just googled sleep paralysis, and that's definitly what I experienced. cheers mate.

  • i have experience the same way before, for my case, it was like someone was trying to push a black cloth on my face such that i can't breath..that was a very terrible experience ans as far as i can remember it happened three time..:(

is there something i can do to stop this?

  • i looked into the cause on sleep paralysis. and its either caused by stress or a huge life style change. i have just moved from a farm into the middle of the city to attend uni, so that explained it for me, and i never got it since. if you could realise why your having it, then that may put it to rest.

  • yeah, i thought of that too..and for my case, i think its stress, but then i just can't get out of stress, just have a lot to do...but i am trying my best to relax before going to sleep and i think its effective, hehe :)
