I think you've hit it on the head (pun intended). The comparisons are endless, I'm sure. No eye spots on the larvae, but I'm sure it was unhappy with having to leave home so early. I was happy to see it go.

Its DNA, by the way, went to a researcher who studies these things.

The two black spots really look like eyes. That, combined w/ the music, and the way the Freeloader seems to be looking up at you, gives the impression that he's shocked and saddened: "Why, Father, did you grab me by my air-breathing butt and yank me out? I only wanted to stay 2 more weeks, maybe burrow around a little bit more with my multiple rings of painful spikes, and occasionally pop my butt out for some fresh air. WHY??" Actually, I am a mother, and my sons are at their most larval stage: teenagers. There are too many comparisons re: botfly larvae and teenagers. I couldn't do it in 500 words or less. Hey, are those eye spots on the thick end? Is it just me or does it look like that little $%#@er is looking up at you forlornly, trying to lay a guilt trip on you for kicking him out?

I can tell you one thing...this is NOT Three Leg Torso. Their band instruments don't even include a guitar. They have a Stand up Bass, a Violin, and an accordion or a Key Board...whichever is needed. BUT, I agree with you!!! I'd LOVE to know who IS doing that song on this vid.  It is CAPTIVATING!!!
