at some point coulthard collided with one of the benettons and they were both out of the track. how the hell did he get back to race and ended michael's?
In that case, colision with Benetton, Coulthard got off from gravel to grass near tyre wall so he was able to slide downhill back to track if i remember correct. and then when Michael was trying to lap David, he didn't see so much trough water spray so when David lifted off to let Michael pass they had colision what ended the race for both.
@ZamolxisReborn hahaha yea, knowing him, that would probably happen. and if you think about it, one less tire means less friction, less friction means faster speed, haha lol
amazing! if that were today there would be very sparsely populated grid at the restart. I know its for cost cutting, but ever since they got rid of the t-car and the red flag for first corner accidents, drivers have been forced to be so tentative and for me its numbed the starts
@peckot i've watched F1 since the 70's and although Schumacher can be good he is also ruthless and can be very dangerous. Schumacher vs Barrichello 2010 Hungary about sums him up.
Miss the good old days when drivers could wreck the cars completely, the race was red flagged and then they just hop into their spare cars. No biggie.
Don't know about most impressive crash. I think Australia 2002 still has that in my opinion, mainly because it had an "OH SHIT!" crash as well as the load of little crashes.
Definatly most shocking race though, no denying that.
@michai27 The original spa-francorchamps which was built in the 1940 and used untill the late 70's was actually 14.1km long. Nowadays the circuit has been greatly shortened into about 7km.
coulthard was on the racing line he lifted off the throttle expect micheal to pass but due to rain/spray micheal wasn't on same page as dc and ended up running into back was no real fault on either driver more a racing incident. mIcheal has stated that him going to the mcclaren garage after dc was one of the lowest points in his long career.
Screw you haters. If Coulthard didn't hog the ideal line (he was behind several laps, meaning he HAD to get out of the ideal line so the driver behind him could pass) this would never have happened.
@tonyb24242424 I meant the carnage. I know this isn't monaco i was saying that This is like the first corner of monaco as in everyone crashed like they do on f1 2010 the game.
Stupid Schumi.... blaming his own blunder on Coulthard. This guy's ego is... (eeehm _was_ ?) too big.. His attitude....tssss. Was he German or Italian? :-p

@MotorsportUK2009 They don't have spare cars but they do bring the parts to build 3 cars to the race.
