She isn't lip synching, but she's not singing sompletely by herself either. the cd is playing in the background. Listen carefully, and you can hear it. The reason she did that was because of her deviated septum and she couldn't breathe right. So this was for safety reasons. And if you watch more recent performances, like from her new album, you can see that now that her septum was fixed, she has not sone this since, and always sings live.
