  • Can't wait for my SLK, not long to go... :)

  • @TheMusicandlyricz BIG PRICE TAG!?! The slk is gonna be my first car

  • Porsche is classic even the boxters.

SLK can only win in a drag race but overall performance always goes to porsche.

In the future SLK would be a better choice but for now boxtster S still wins.

The new 2012 SLK has 450+ hp compare with the 2012 boxster S 320hp with the same price tag. Pretty much you'll see huge difference between the two.

Hoping porsche will increase hp for the up coming boxsters and the new 911

  • The SLK is an overpowered, poor handling, junk box... a nice junk box.. but really cheap looking and cheaply made for such an expensive car... The boxster is a much better handling design, equals the SLK 0 to 60, and not cheap looking at all... If I had the money, I would take the boxster all day long...

  • Both nice, but the difference is that the boxster is a girls car while the slk is a mans car...

  • @elcapitan711 - Are you meaning that you can pick up girls in a Boxster but can only pick up men in an SLK? If that's the case, I'll take the Boxster... thank you.

  • @BourneAccident Are u meaning that u need a car for picking up girls? If that's the case you're an idiot. thank you^^

  • @elcapitan711 - Whew... that was close! I'm glad I'm not an idiot! LOL... but you still didn't explain why the Boxster is a girls car and an SLK is a mans car...

  • @BourneAccident Sorry, didn't want to offend u, was just a good possibility to reply;-). Its because the SLK is muscular in any ways - in appeareance issues aswell as in engine issues. The V8 is much stronger than the Porsche V6. Its not only about 0-60... And that its overpowered and poor handling is also quite wrong...

  • @elcapitan711 Porsche never put any V6 engine on any boxters. We call it the H6 please do some research before posting.

  • @TheMusicandlyricz Haha, u're right, my mistake. The V8 is still better ;-)

  • The only reason why you buy a Boxster is because you think it look good, feels good, its fast, its a roadster........ and if I want 911 I'll buy a easy used one for the same price tag. Have you failed if you have enough money to buy a new Porsche? Not for me.

  • What's the music starting at 2:52 ?

  • I was buying this commentary until he says, "the only reason you would buy a Boxster is because you cound't buy a 911"... Bullshit... he obviously doesn't know he comparing apples to oranges.... mid engine to rear engine. Sorry.

  • @BourneAccident Not just that but you get the same performance in the Boxster for a lower price b/c of the mid engine.

  • Boxster everyday (:

And notice Boxster has an 's' in it,

Not Boxter. :L Sorry, but just had to sayy :L

    Great video though

  • I prefer the slk because its seems more secure and better( designed... The boxter also is a great car but it seems very simple, good as every porsche, but I repeat it is my personal opinion...

    Thanks forgive my English...

  • anyone know the music starting at 0:28?

  • Think its 'Rosies' by Amon Tobin, but im still trying to find the version used in Top Gear.

  • Regarding Jeremy Clarkson.

He's a good host but he hates Porsche's by defenition, always prefers power, over handling and dynamics. (maybe his way to work is a long straight road, with no turns?!)

Watch some of the tests of other top gear vids, R8 vs Carrera S? AMV8 vs M6 vs 997 s?

the only time he admits a porsche is good over he's beloved ferrari's is the test of the 997 Turbo, also the Carrera GT

Fact is Porsche has always made some of the best cars,(the late 80's 959, anyone?)

  • regarding the 911 vs Boxster?

porsches main concern is if they up the engines in the boxster so it equals the 911's it will murder it, therefore not good for the sales of 911's and overpriced old lady (with a heavy arse), but the 911's is still a great car, dont get me wrong. it's always the benchmark, the other sports car companys compare to.

  • yeh i agree about the GT-R being a quicker yet cheaper car than the 911 seems like ur paying for the badge more than how the car performs with the porsche, though its still an amazing car.

  • Actually Porsche bought a GT-R, for testing it on the Nordschleife, and the time Nissan said the GT-R does, is not possible, unless they used semi-slicks/slicks... so the Porsche GT2 is quicker... but i agree The GT-R is an amazing piece of enginering. But if given the choise? i would always choose a Porsche GT2, over the Nissan GT-R...

  • but when you consider the price of what ur paying for the GT2 double that of a GT-R it takes it in to another perspective, sure the GT2 is faster but how much so, is it worth double what the GT-R is worth its not like u wont get the same thrills both hit 60mph in under 4secs and claim 200mph, nissans goal was to beat only the 911 turbo in which they succeded, there soon bringing out the GT-R nurburgring edition which will then compete with the GT-2, if money wasnt an option id choose the porsche

  • sure, thats is true, u pay a lot for the brand, and porsche is a profitable carmanufactor. if you just look at the price/hp ratio, then of course the nissan. But there is so much more to a porsche than that... and as you yourself say, if money wasn't a concern, u would also choose a porsche :-)

  • yeh ur right there is so much more to porsche no-doubt, to be honest i think the GT-R's price has to be low to contend with big sports car companys i mean if say they sold the GT-R at the same price as a 911 turbo most people would choose the porsche over the nissan because it has the heritage of being a world renowned sports car company even to people who dont no alot about cars, in my opinion porsche is the best car manufacturer out there, the GT-R is amazing for the money though :-)

  • i would too choose a GT2 however a Nissan GT-R is more of a supercar you can still drive everyday while a GT2 is more of a special occasion car which almost adds to the hype of driving it

  • Please rename the vid in "BoxSter", I couldn't find it in the first tries...

  • I LOVE the Boxster but I wish it came in a hardtop instead of a softtop convertible

  • hard top = more weight, and in a high place, not to good for handling, niether for luggage space... and u have 310L of luggage space in a boxster top on or off, vs the merc shitty boot...

hard top boxster? try a Porsche Cayman...

But u can get a hard top for the boxster for use in the winter...

  • I wan't the Boxster S.

The Merc is great and cool, but I just like the Porsche better.

  • I love it when he says shoe at 3:23

  • wheres part two?

  • Oh Jeremy... price is not the only reason to prefer a Boxster over a 911... can we say "ROADSTER"???

Once again, Jeremy goes for steroids over finesse. Like when he preferred the preposterous M6 over the V8 Vantage. And making a big deal over a "more impressive" retractable top? Have you gone soft???

Fact is, the Boxster is a classic that will be revered for years, while this year's SLK will soon be just another here-today, gone-tomorrow Daimler whim.

  • EXACTELE!!! id buy a good boxster s rather than a 911, ´but NOT because of the price. i think the boxster is just a better car, i prefer honest, good engeneering over good tractioncontroil stuff and things like that. why is the modern day 911 so good? because of the PSM (porsche stability management). but turn that of and the 911 isnt that good any more. turn it off in the boxster, its still a good midengined roadster, not a arse-out-hanging 40 year old car.

  • dont get me wrong, i really like the 911, but i think the boxster is better...

  • i agree!!! i dont get it when people say the only reason you buy a boxster is because you cannot afford a 911 its rubbish ive seen many 911's that are cheaper than a boxster even some 997's, the performance between a carrera 996 and a 987 boxster S is literary nothing (my old mans owned both), also on a 911 the money depreciation is terrible, i gotta say the new boxster S is fantastic but i also love the 911, but i dont see why it cost's so much more!!!!!

  • the 911 is much better than the boxter but i think the price is somewhat stupid... as a gt-r gets better speed times and is 40000 cheaper

  • the 911 isnt much better than the boxster s unless your talking about the turbo, but with a 911 carrera s its not that much different u still get all the extras the 911 does in the boxster s, performs roughly the same and for much less money, only real thing missing in a boxster is an LSD plus a tiny bit more power to beat a 911 around a track, though standard the performance difference's are not that noticeable the 911 has more punch lower down the revs thats about it.

  • I would buy the SLK. Its probably not as good as the Porsche..but somehow I just like it more.
