@sukumar2000 lol no. She's talking about paper towels that you use in the kitchen -- like Brawny for example. But you bring up a good point. I suspect toilet paper kills more trees than paper towels.. but every little bit not used helps I suppose. Having that water thing that squirts your rear (like they use in Europe) would probably help in using less toilet tissue since it cleans off a lot and you don't have to use so much of it.

But, we grow more trees on plantations specifically for industry. Wood is a renewable and daily sustainable resource. The amount of oil that goes into making a cloth towel, which, aside from requiring continual energy & chemicals to clean, is discarded when it can't be cleaned anymore...  gotta think of the bigger picture.

Paper towel free! So the wash cloths don't need hot water or detergent to be washed. And the polluting processes which are used in the bleaching of the cotton for the wash cloths are conveniently forgotten.Sometimes green isn't always the colour is seems.

@JMBoli I can't imagine using the same rag for everything... "so that a poor tree might live". Ya know, trees are farmed, and paper recycled for our paper towels. I'd expected smarter from someone with a PHD in Neuroscience. It disappoints me. And she's teaching her kids that using paper altogether is something 2 feel guilty about; that u can't use say, a roll or 2 a week? "for the life of a tree"? So she's "one of them". Turns me off. Otherwise, TETO. But meh, there r more important things.
