i had an uncle who was radio operator on one. i met the lead engineer who designed the b-24 and told him about it. suggested he'd like to meet the guy who designed it, he said no, he didn't. apparently he didn't like sub zero conditions in the open fuselage that much. lol . the same guy was in charge of customizing Commando for Churchill. he had a photo of him and churchill standing in front of it.
