  • that, and the Nationals expected him to be prepared to go from a 50 game college season to a 162 MLB season, 10-12 more starts with hardly any minor league training...he was bound to tear his arm up

  • 天才小史的練投影片...只能說太恐怖

  • the way he throws is the reason his arm is shot

  • @mrhesperia1 what part of the arm does it hurt?

  • @Foxrider4564 rotater and shit why do u think he had surgery if he dont change how he throws his carrer will be short

  • @mrhesperia1 still sits high 90s. arm's not shot.

  • damn! Fuego!!

  • Look up "inverted W" regarding pitching mechanics and you will then know that his arm was doomed from the start. Nationals just happened to be the team he played for when the inevitable happened.

  • He is sexy.

  • That's Steve Nebraska...IN REAL LIFE

  • lol they named the song "Let's get Retarded"... i thought it was "Let's get it started"?

  • i would hate to catch for him...

  • those uni's are swass central..i'd hate to play in hot weather in those

  • Yeah it is a shame its kinda like jimmy morris from the rookie if you think about it.

  • you want a 104 fastball for lunch or what

  • HE IS A BEAST

  • what is the song name?

  • @phillypitcher31594 its a shame your a dumbass

  • will stephen come back and play when his injury is over and better, or is his arm so jacked up he'll never play again? plz answer

  • @MegaBostonredsox

You're stupidity is a disgrace to Red Sox fans.

  • @H3Footage srry dude, just wondering. i know it was a dumb question. i just wanted to know 4 sure

  • @MegaBostonredsox Haha i'm just playing, don't worry about it.

  • Adrienne#24 is 32 year old fart who thinks everyone should watch his 6 year old kid play. He says it is to give his son confidence. Is that sad or what?

  • best pure stuff ive ever seen. ever. his injury still makes me sad.

  • there is plenty of pitchers that have inverted w that havnt had tommy john, and wont ever need it.he cant change it now

  • LOOK UP PERRINE BASEBALL ADRIEN#24

  • LOOK UP PERRINE BASEBALL ADRIEN#24

  • It's a shame for every good pitcher that has to play for a shitty team..... such as Felix Hernandez, Michael Pineda, Josh Johnson even tho FLA is playing well i don't think they get past PHILLY, and all of the other good pitchers in majors

  • @CP2VIPERS seattle isn't even doing shitty. neither is florida lol

  • he throws GAS!

  • I guarantee you when he makes it to the majors he'll blow out his arm in a matter of weeks. I'm psychic.

  • @Zapodo14 his mechanics are as good as it gets besides the inverted w.and thats just natural it would do no good to try and change that now

  • @HAH4knight5 no inverted w is horrible for your arm. that's why he was in the pros no like a month!

  • i love all these middle schoolers sayin he has shitty mechanics

  • At least he has control on his fastball unlike Aroldis Chapman

  • @ChikaraGuy I agree. Chapman would dominate if he could just locate his pitches.

  • @YouWantMeYouCantPay His 106 mph fastball almost hit McCutchen in the head. It would've been worse than Marlon Byrd's infamous HBP on Sunday

That's some pretty bad control right there, so if he can drop to 101 mph he would quite possibly dominate

  • @YouWantMeYouCantPay anybody can dominate if they can locate their pitches

    have you seen greg maddux?

  • @litojonny that's so false. "anybody can dominate if they can locate their pitches". to dominate, not only do have to have control, you've got to have movement on your breaking pitches and velocity on your fastball, and you also have to know the batter's weaknesses and keep him guessing. there's more to it than just simply throwing the pitch where you want to.

  • @litojonny its not like he had an 80 mph fastball. sure his control is really good but he had better than average stuff to go with it

  • I like how at 0:16, the smack of the ball coordinates with the song.

  • @dklinger18 yes, it's cool

  • Whats amazing about him is that in his career debut he had 14 KS! Amazing for a rookie!

  • that catcher's hand must be prosthetic

  • rockin the stirrups like me

  • why are all the the pro pitchin coaches in the comments all criticizing his mechanics, the guy brought something exciting to baseball even if he destroyed his arm in the process it was still dope while it lasted and he culd even come back stronger hes still very young

  • wow this is shows clearly why he blew out his elbow. just look at the mechanics, he's throwing before he gets his foot down and doesnt use his core. You can see all the elbow whip he generates instead of using his core. Hopefully he will figure it out

  • Do yourself a favor strasburg, and go watch some vids of doc halladay. the pitches so many complete games for a reason.his smooth refined delivery.

  • They made this guy out to be way more than he is.

I feel bad for the kid, having to try to live up to something he can never be.

  • His arm is trailing his body too far, i.e. he cocks it back too far after his leg lands...that leads to stress on the arm. I hope he makes it back to throwing 100 mph but he needs to work on that.

  • @rhymeister He does not continue loading his arm after foot strike, so this is incorrect. Everything is going forward almost immediately after his front foot lands.

  • @jonsey3002 Stop the vid at 0.16, his foot lands and his arm is still way behind his head with his elbow at 45-degree angle. Not good, don't do this at home, kids!

  • Steven Strasburg...I gots to know...are you really the next big thing? or the next big bitch?...

  • it's a shame the nationals ruined his arm.

  • @phillypitcher31594

    nats didnt ruin his arm

  • @phillypitcher31594 what did the nationals do? His arm action caused his injury

  • @phillypitcher31594 it wasn't completely the nat's fault, they may have overused him but his mechanics are unorthodox

  • @phillypitcher31594 It's not the Nationals fault, his mechanics are bad.

When he throws, his right elbow is above his shoulder when he throws. It ruins his timing, and puts extra pressure on his elbow. It was only a matter of time until it happened. It's better now then later. If you don't believe me, look up Mark Prior.

  • @Bampontius ur dumb nats rushed him and blow his arm out

  • @phillypitcher31594 like the cubs did to kerry wood and mark prior.

  • @rambo7276 no, strasburg, wood, and prior all had shitty mechanics, they shouldve been ok but theyre mechanics are trash.

  • @SimpleStuff31 Actually, it was a combination of overworking their arms and their mechanics that ruined their arms.

  • @phillypitcher31594 how could the nationals have anything to do with ruinign his arm??? if anything, pitching too much in high school and at san diego state contributed to his unexpected injury...tony g pitched the shit out of this kid when he coached him...nationals treat strasburg like a golden child u dont kno shit dude

  • @phillypitcher31594 its cuz his mechanics suck. he was an inverted w.

  • @phillypitcher31594 how is it the nationals fault he got tommy john, its just cuz he throws so hard

  • @phillypitcher31594 The Nats Didnt he did ASSHOLE

  • @phillypitcher31594 the nationals did not ruin his arm , do u rele think a professional organization would do that. His mechanics ruined his arm

  • @metsfinest15 HOLY SHIT.....who taught you how to spell?

  • @corporalbob what you talking about?

  • @phillypitcher31594 the nationals actually took really good care of him... They only had him pitch when he was feeling healthy and the one game he told his pitching coach he had some just some slight elbow pain while he was warming up and they stopped it right there and had it checked out. Unfortunately it led to tommy john surgery.

  • @phillypitcher31594 Theres nothing they could do, he have 5+ days rest and was limited in pitch count, if he was any team it would have happened, it was just fate

  • @phillypitcher31594 not now

  • i know he got tommy john and all but you cant say he has bad mechanics if the kid's throwing 101 mph fastballs and a breaking ball that every major league hitter would struggle to hit

  • @ubaldoc213 he tore his ulnar collateral tendon in his elbow because he was releasing the ball too close to his ear! You are supposed to release the ball at a 90-160 degree angle there fore he had bad mechanics for his arm but not the whole body!

  • LOL i knew dustin ackley was a better choice that strasburg

  • everyone stfu

  • he makes it look so easy

  • he has the worst mechanics ever that is why he is now having tommy john surgery, great pick nationals

  • His arm comes back so far...just looking at it hurts

  • I've tried throwing like Strasburg and I've tried throwing like Clemens.

With Strasburg, it's so much easier to throw harder + accurately simultaneously.

However with Clemens it's easier to throw more pitches without tiring out your arm.

  • @Erii77 umm i just signed onto youtube for the sake of calling your bullshit, seriously. Unless you're throwing in the 90s you're not really simulating the stress or same physical movements in either guy's motion.

  • @qSumo hahahahaha you make ad hominems funny, but the thing is you just made an assumption based on something you don't know, I never actually said how hard I throw Sumo, but hey maybe you've tried what I did, and yielded different results is that it?

If so please, tell me then... what results did you get when you tried throwing like both?

If not then stop wasting my time, and apparently your time.

  • @Erii77 haha I hope you're not serious right now. First of all, I qualified my statement by acknowledging how the situation would be different if you were indeed throwing in the 90s. Secondly, if you did throw in the 90s you probably wouldn't be risking your current pitching mechanics for the sake of simulating two pretty different motions (not to mention the time it takes to actually accurately learn each motion). Basically, get outta here you clown.

  • @qSumo again with the ad hominems, you don't have to like me, but you can at least try my theory. And yes both styles take practice (In case I may have hinted otherwise which would be untrue), but are possible to simulate. So instead of calling me a clown based on nothing, you can actually try what I said which is based on my experience (weak evidence, but better than no evidence).

  • Maddux had the best mechanics of them all and was also the smartest of them all. He realized he doesn't need to throw mid 90s to be successful, something Strasburg might want to think about upon returning too.

  • this was the last practice session before he blew his arm ...

  • season ending enjury bro...

  • No wonder he got tommy john'd, his mechanics are awful

  • @RaptoRsAreTecMo

I love how everyone on youtube thinks they're an expert on pitching mechanics ... you know who else had bad mechanics? Greg Maddux. So fuck off.

  • @mehik7734 I never said Maddux had good mechanics you stupid fuck, but his dont result in tommy john, his only result in slow velocity.

Kno what your talking out before you start talking smack you stupid little punk.

  • @RaptoRsAreTecMo

You implied that bad mechanics naturally lead to injury. I gave you an example of a pitcher with bad mechanics who not only avoided injury, but became one of the best pitchers of all time. I know exactly what I'm talking about you fucking retard.

  • @mehik7734 wtf are u talking about! maddux is a role model for mechanics, if youll watch a video a scout took of him at 19 whe he threw 93 he has mechanics similar to lincecum, he just didnt lean back as far and had the cleaner arm action he has now, he just found that shortening his stride and not throwing his hardest produced amazing results for him, his mechanics are amazing, he doesnt have bad mechanics.

  • @mehik7734 how did greg maddux have bad mechanics? explain that one slick. Best pitcher of this generation not named pedro. Threw hard with movement and control and remained injury free his whole career. Seems like his mechanics were pretty good to me.

  • @tim191219

He swings his front leg out on his delivery, and he lands on his heel. He was athletic enough to maintain excellent control, but there are a lot of pitchers out there who wouldn't find the strike zone if they copied his mechanics.

  • @mehik7734 i completely disagree but thats just my opinion i guess

  • @mehik7734

You really don't know anything about pitching do you? Your comment is proof of that.

  • @coachbhhh

And what exactly is wrong with what I said? Teach me, oh wise master.

  • Tommy John surgery...

  • The guy's awesome, period. Even if he permenantly hurts his arm, he's already placed his name in history with his historic debut.

  • amazing

  • SDSU!!!

  • Never heard of this guy.

    ;D

  • THE FUNNY THING IS HE SUCKED UNTIL LIKE 2 YEARS AGO NOW HES ONE OF THE BEST PITCHERS IN BASEBALL

  • @WeLoveTswizzle13 hes not even close to being one of the best

  • @WeLoveTswizzle13 he didnt suck. he was still good he just was only throwing low 90

  • @kjd0lbj23 And he was a fat, out of shape slob with no mechanics whatsoever. San Diego State did wonders for him

  • @WeLoveTswizzle13 LETS ALL TALK IN CAPS OVER SOMETHING THATS OBVIOUS.

  • @TheLuckiLuciano I WANNA BUTTFUCK AVA LONGORIA! MMMPF MMMMPFF MMMPF

  • @seattlehawkins thats hot bro

  • @WeLoveTswizzle13 and now hes done cause he over did it! (as far as i know he might be better now)

  • @WeLoveTswizzle13

you cant really suck if your a child prodigy. lol....

  • damm i will shit my pants before facing him lol he is defenetly heading for majors

  • i wouldnt wanna catch him

  • Major League Baseball is dumb. how the hell they not gunna have this kid on the all star roster??? i mean who doesnt want to see strasburg vs Derek Jeter, Alex Rodiguez and Joe Mauer??? I no I do. Who cares if he doesnt deserve it, charlie manuel picked Omar Infante as an all star reserve. Omar FUCKING Infante. A mediocre ultility infielder. So dont give me shit on how he doesnt deserve it. Im no nationals fan, strasburg fan (he's ok i dont hate him or n e thing) but who wudnt want to see that?

  • @shall2347 Hey man Omar Infante is a great infileder so don't bash on him ok i wanna see strasburg in the all-star game as much as anyone!

  • @shall2347 think of it this way if some guy was working all his career and he had this 1 great year of pitching and he started from the BEGINNING of the season and the spot was taken away by some pitcher who started in JUNE and is a rookie how fair would that be besides once again he started in JUNE it wouldnt be fair to other NL pitchers you moron

  • ill take tht shit over the fence lol

  • Bryce Harper vs. Stephen Strasburg......no dice. They're gonna be teammates.

  • i would hate to be his catcher

  • @Baggydee1 I would love it, it's fucking amazing when you catch good pitchs

  • I'd be afraid to catch for strasburg, my glove would have a hole it in.

  • damn he's using hella leg.

  • hahaha it says lets get retarded!

  • Hes gonna destroy everyone in the MLB.. all star this year

  • he was great lastnight

  • @KJT922010T Yeah Delmon Young took him deep didn't he? Other than that he was pretty much untouchable.

  • Wow this guy is amazing. he throws so fast. im really glad he got the fans standing in washington even though im a mets fan it gave me goose bumps.

  • back up catcher is gettin a good workout haha

  • gas.

  • nationals drafted bryce harper

  • I want see Bryce Harper vs. Stephen Strasburg.

  • very smooth delivery-, less-likely to get injured

  • is his third pitch a change up?

  • Did that catcher get drafted?

  • @alexmacabees14 If it's the everyday catcher from that year, yaa...Erik Castro got drafted by the Astros.

  • those are some ugly ass unis

  • What the hell is up with those uniforms? Looks like something from a 70's fat man's sofball league.

  • from this video can't see he worth that much money

  • @taiwangx That's why its called a pre-start bullpen ;-) This kid is legit, there have been a lot of overhyped prospects in the past but this isn't one of them... The kid has only allowed ONE hit in two Triple-A starts, he'll be in Washington very soon.

  • holy shit. who is this guy?!

  • Does everybody knows this music of background?

  • @nokona03243 get started

  • Does everybody knows this music of background?

  • think about the aces in the nl east.........future Tommy Hanson Josh Johnson Roy Halladay Blowhan Santana...........and now Stephen Strasburg what a tough division its gonna be huh lol

  • @Boog2200 al east is the hardest but gooooo rays baby first place

  • I'm a braves fan but........well dammit. We're screwed.

  • hes ganna be beast in da majors

  • okay hes at 103 tops plus major league training now, i say he reaches at least 105mph!

  • @cullen17whitephenom

I think they'll break him down so he sits upper 90s. MLB has awful track record of improving mph once a player is drafted. They just dont want to injure the guys so they get fluff training programs and on top of that the pitchers have to work a lot more on location and changing speeds so the velocity loses emphasis. I don't think he'll lose much, but he wont be sitting 100+ as a starter

  • he's a beast, the only thing that makes me sad is that the 2 richest teams in baseball, yankees and red sox, will start brandishing their wallets first chance they get, i hope he sticks with the nats, but he probalby wont. Great young pitcher though

  • I'm glad he's going to pitch in Altoona. im going to the game. pm me april 11th around 5-6 after game is done. ill tell you wat he did well and bad.

  • reminds me of mark prior

  • @newtriertrevian11 Mark Prior must have done some bad, bad things as a child because he was absolutely cursed (not to fuel the whole Cubs curse thing, but come on). I mean as dirty as he was his first year, and then he was never close again. The way he kept getting hurt was ridiculous

  • @newtriertrevian11 You sir are brilliant

  • @newtriertrevian11 funny you should compare him to prior. hopefully injuries dont derail his career also...

  • Kid is sure packin heat, lookin forward to seein how he will do once he reaches

    The Show.

  • Give it a couple years. He will get hit around his first year

  • @nokona03243 were you going to say something?

  • Strasburg v. Harper will be epic

    Can't wait

  • stetson allie

  • i think i can hit a ground ball

  • damnit i hate to admit it... but he is indeed awesome. I checked out all the hype on this guy and thought he probably got pretty lucky with his no-no in college ball.

    but im wrong, hes awesome

  • how do you know? He hasn't played his first game in the bigs yet. Also his last warm-up game he was pretty average.

  • i hope ur joking...he throws 103!!!!!!!!and he was a junior in college when this was filmed.....

  • no he was at college sdsu

  • NO u wouldnt.... Trust me

  • I always said Black Pants in Baseball looks so Horrible, They should stop making those.

  • sorry queer eye for the straight guy

  • Im not a fashion designer or something Im a Baseball Player myself and to me it looks like a Football Pants if you think about it .

  • @dtruth20091 WTF...only a chick would make a comment like that..

  • Dude im not gay I just don`t like those type of pants end of story .

  • @dtruth20091 your the only person who thinks like that when the next walter johnson is pitching in front of you

  • Whatever !

  • @Nykes05 thats true lol

  • only a chick or one fucking gay hahaha lol
