i prefer to use a dark energy vortex. I put the eye right on the candle and allow the isolated bubble of spacetime caused by the vortex to collapse thus destroying the flame. Of course, this tends to cause 'holes' in normal spacetime called 'dark space' or 'null space' (relatively new in Physics) which is VERY dangerous, so be careful if you do it.
