John himself was always unhappy on how "Across the Universe" sounded on record, he never thought any of the versions released sounded "right," so it's a pretty good bet that had he ever gotten the chance to perform the song onstage, he would have done it in a somewhat different arrangement than the ones that came out on record.
Anyone who thinks that these guys are ordinary is off their rocker. These guys have to suppress their own creativity to sound as dead on as they do. That has to be really tough. They stick with it to keep it real. If they put too much of themselves in they would sound like all the other tribute (garage) bands excluding the Fab Faux, who are excellent in their own right. If you can't tell the difference between these guys and any other four man tribute band..go ahead and drink the cheap stuff.
We all need to remember ...this is a LIVE performance. A studio recording can never duplicated in a concert setting. To the best of my knowledge, John Lennon never sang this song live. For Ron McNeil to interpret how this song would have sounded if John Lennon sang it live, well, he did a fantastic job! That is why The Fab Four is the ultimate tribute band! Rock on mates!

Is that a fake Lennon like nose he's wearing, or is it his own ? Not a criticism in any way, I'm just curious, that's all.

I saw these guys a month ago in SoCal. They are great. This is a very hard song to replicate!

Hard song to do like this dude does. He's not bad but this is not the best suited tune for his voice.
