I hope that, if there is ever a Left 4 Dead 3, the Screamer is in it. He could be like the Witch, except that he doesn´t attack when startled, but that he runs away and continuosly summons hordes!

I understand why they cut the Screamer. It would be very hard to chase him in a huge mob of infected. Unlike the boomer, it causes even more trouble because it doesn't attack only one player but all of you and your teammates. It's like finding your dog in a crowd. It's one in a million. Sorry for those who wanted the Screamer so much. Thumbs up if you agree.

@TheHueMan01 dude, they made left 4 dead 2 in broad daylight so

1. It added a different sense of horror. (night makes for a classic horror, while day adds a whole new level of gameplay)

2. New Orleans in night doesnt have the same feel.

3. In L4D2, there actually ARE night levels and afternoon levels, like Dark Carnival, Hard Rain, and The Passing DLC

The screamer would of been fun because that sounds really scary to have a zombie scream. Plus I like the idea of hushing a zombie with a bullet.

Of course I understand why they took him out a zombie that runs away would be very hard to hit.

The witch screams so that kinda replaces it.

the worst things they took out are free roam and the screamer. that would have been awesome!

Yeah, screamer would've been awesome, like a mobile version of a car with an alarm, however, instead of not shooting it you're supposed to shoot it. I don't really understand why they had to take it out...they made the witch easily stand out among common infected so I don't see the problem. They could've given him some kind of special audio that plays loudly, like the witches crying. Oh well, guess it doesn't matter...

Oh, and what do you mean free roam? I'm assuming you mean just an option to roam around the map without being attacked...if you have the PC version you can do that easily with console commands...make it so the zombies can't attack, etc. If you want free roam just go through the entire level and kill all the zombies, then walk around after. Works about everywhere except places like the fourth chapter in the hospital where you have to use the elevator since you can't go back down.

originally, the no mercy was going to be a huge city, with several different ways to get to your destination, pretty much no mercy's first chapter could have been 50x its current size, but the beta testers seemed to always choose the same path, so it was removed.

It was created by VALVE! They are also the same guys who made counter-strike, team fortress, and portal. Also the sequels to those.

Actually Turtle Rock created left 4 dead and VALVe bought them out near the end of development seeing as they worked together on counterstrike alot anyway

Umm he's not in the game. What he's doing is similar to spectating.

in the Developer's Commentary mode infected don't attack you at all. It's like you're invisible but you can still blow em to bits. The only time infected attack you is during the finale after you call for the rescue.

I think the screamer would of been a better horde-drawer than the boomer vomit. The infected like loud noises, not puke.

Just how do you access the commentary on L4D? I've already beat the campaigns by my lonesome, and have done so with others also. Dunno if it matters, but I also have the 360 version.
